Heats of atomization for a range of conjugated molecules containing nitrogen or oxygen are calculated by a semiempirical method that combines some features of both the MO and VB theories. The π ground state of each conjugated molecule is represented as a linear combination of Kekulé structures. Unlike in the VB theory, each Kekulé structure is a determinant containing bond orbitals. Here experimental heats of atomization are reproduced approximately as well as by the more sophisticated SCF –MO approach. The use of this method is, however, much simpler since it amounts to a single diagonalization of a matrix of the order equal to the number of Kekulé structures only.  相似文献

Mathematical formalism of the Low Rank Perturbation method (LRP) is applied to the vibrational isotope effect in the harmonic approximation with a standard assumption that force field does not change under isotopic substitutions. A pair of two n-atom isotopic molecules A and B which are identical except for isotopic substitutions at ρ atomic sites is considered. In the LRP approach vibrational frequencies ω k and normal modes of the isotopomer B are expressed in terms of the vibrational frequencies ν i and normal modes of the parent molecule A. In those relations complete specification of the normal modes is not required. Only amplitudes at sites τ affected by the isotopic substitutions and in the coordinate direction s (s = x, y, z) are needed. Out-of-plane vibrations of the (H,D)-benzene isotopomers are considered. Standard error of the LRP frequencies with respect to the DFT frequencies is on average . This error is due to the uncertainty of the input data (± 0.5 cm−1) and in the absence of those uncertainties and in the harmonic approximation it should disappear. In comparing with experiment, one finds that LRP frequencies reproduces experimental frequencies of (H,D)-benzene isotopomers better () than scaled DFT frequencies () which are designed to minimize (by frequency scaling technique) this error. In addition, LRP is conceptually and numerically simple and it also provides a new insight in the vibrational isotope effect in the harmonic approximation.  相似文献

Liquid‐assisted grinding (LAG) was used to combine three levels of molecular self‐assembly into a one‐pot mechanochemical approach for the construction of metal–organic materials. The approach was applied for the construction of three adducts of cobalt(II) dibenzoylmethanate with isonicotinamide, nicotinamide and imidazole, to screen for their inclusion compounds. The one‐pot process consists of: i) The coordination‐driven binding of addends to the equatorially‐protected metal ion, resulting in “wheel‐and‐axle”‐shaped complexes; ii) self‐assembly of resulting complexes by way of hydrogen‐bonded synthons to form metal–organic inclusion hosts; iii) in situ inclusion of the grinding liquid in the resulting host. This approach provided quantitatively and within 20 min the known inclusion compounds of the bis(isonicotinamide) adduct in a single synthetic step. Changing the liquid phase in LAG was used to explore the inclusion behaviour of new wheel‐and‐axle adducts with nicotinamide and imidazole, revealing several inclusion compounds, as well as two polymorphs, of the bis(nicotinamide) host. Preliminary results suggest that one‐pot LAG is superior to solution synthesis in screening for metal–organic inclusion compounds. The difference between the methods is rationalised in terms of reactant solubility and solvent competition. In contrast to the nicotinamide adduct, the bis(imidazole) adduct did not form inclusion compounds. The difference in the inclusion properties of the two adducts is rationalised by structural information gathered by single crystal and powder X‐ray diffraction.  相似文献

1,4‐Dimercapto‐2,5‐diphosphinobenzene and 3,6‐bis(hexyloxy)‐1,4‐dimercapto‐2,5‐diphosphinobenzene were synthesized and combined with various acid chlorides to obtain a series of benzobisthiaphospholes. Electrochemical and photophysical properties of the substituted benzobisthiaphospholes have been evaluated, and the observed reductions are more facile than the related benzothiaphospholes and 2,6‐diphenylbenzobisthiazole. A benzobisthiaphosphole with C6H4p‐CN substituents was reduced at E1/2=?1.08 V (vs. saturated calomel electrode (SCE)). X‐ray diffraction data for several of these phosphorus heterocycles has been obtained, and DFT calculations at the B3LYP level have been performed.  相似文献

The kinetic resolution of N‐heterocycles with chiral acylating agents reveals a previously unrecognized stereoelectronic effect in amine acylation. Combined with a new achiral hydroxamate, this effect makes possible the resolution of various N‐heterocycles by using easily prepared reagents. A transition‐state model to rationalize the stereochemical outcome of this kinetic resolution is also proposed.  相似文献

The relationship between protein structure and function is one of the greatest puzzles within biochemistry. De novo metalloprotein design is a way to wipe the board clean and determine what is required to build in function from the ground up in an unrelated structure. This Review focuses on protein design efforts to create de novo metalloproteins within alpha‐helical scaffolds. Examples of successful designs include those with carbonic anhydrase or nitrite reductase activity by incorporating a ZnHis3 or CuHis3 site, or that recapitulate the spectroscopic properties of unique electron‐transfer sites in cupredoxins (CuHis2Cys) or rubredoxins (FeCys4). This work showcases the versatility of alpha helices as scaffolds for metalloprotein design and the progress that is possible through careful rational design. Our studies cover the invariance of carbonic anhydrase activity with different site positions and scaffolds, refinement of our cupredoxin models, and enhancement of nitrite reductase activity up to 1000‐fold.  相似文献

Guanidinium organosulfonates (GSs) are a large and well‐explored archetypal family of hydrogen‐bonded organic host frameworks that have, over the past 25 years, been regarded as nonporous. Reported here is the only example to date of a conventionally microporous GS host phase, namely guanidinium 1,4‐benzenedisulfonate ( p ‐G2BDS ). p ‐G2BDS is obtained from its acetone solvate, AcMe@ G2BDS , by single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SC‐SC) desolvation, and exhibits a Type I low‐temperature/pressure N2 sorption isotherm (SABET=408.7(2) m2 g?1, 77 K). SC‐SC sorption of N2, CO2, Xe, and AcMe by p ‐G2BDS is explored under various conditions and X‐ray diffraction provides a measurement of the high‐pressure, room temperature Xe and CO2 sorption isotherms. Though p ‐G2BDS is formally metastable relative to the “collapsed”, nonporous polymorph, np ‐G2BDS , a sample of p ‐G2BDS survived for almost two decades under ambient conditions. np ‐G2BDS reverts to zCO2@ p ‐G2BDS or yXe@ p ‐G2BDS (y,z=variable) when pressure of CO2 or Xe, respectively, is applied.  相似文献

We report a RhIII‐catalyzed regio‐ and diastereoselective synthesis of δ‐lactams from readily available acrylamide derivatives and unactivated alkenes. The reaction provides a rapid route to a diverse set of δ‐lactams in good yield and stereoselectivity, which serve as useful building blocks for substituted piperidines. The regioselectivity of the reaction with unactivated terminal alkene is significantly improved by using Cpt ligand on the RhIII catalyst. The synthetic utility of the reaction is demonstrated by the preparation of a potential drug candidate containing a trisubstituted piperidine moiety. Mechanistic studies show that the reversibility of the C?H activation depends on the choice of Cp ligand on the RhIII catalyst. The irreversible C?H activation is observed and becomes turnover‐limiting with [CptRhCl2]2 as catalyst.  相似文献
