A diamond phase retarder was applied to control the polarization states of a hard X‐ray free‐electron laser (XFEL) in the photon energy range 5–20 keV. The horizontal polarization of the XFEL beam generated from the planar undulators of the SPring‐8 Angstrom Compact Free‐Electron Laser (SACLA) was converted into vertical or circular polarization of either helicity by adjusting the angular offset of the diamond crystal from the exact Bragg condition. Using a 1.5 mm‐thick crystal, a high degree of circular polarization, 97%, was obtained for 11.56 keV monochromatic X‐rays, whereas the degree of vertical polarization was 67%, both of which agreed with the estimations including the energy bandwidth of the Si 111 beamline monochromator. 相似文献

We investigate the totally geodesic Radon transform which assigns a function to its integration over totally geodesic symmetric submanifolds in Riemannian symmetric spaces of noncompact type. Our main concern is focused on the injectivity and support theorem. Our approach is based on the projection slice theorem relating the totally geodesic Radon transform and the Fourier transforms on symmetric spaces. Using 281 fb-1 of data from the Belle experiment recorded at or near the (4S) resonance, we have measured the rates of the "wrong-sign" decays D0 --> K+ pi- pi0 and D0 --> K+ pi- pi+ pi- relative to those of the Cabibbo-favored decays D0 --> K- pi+ pi0 and D0 --> K- pi+ pi+ pi-. These wrong-sign decays proceed via a doubly Cabibbo-suppressed amplitude or via D0-D0 mixing; the latter has not yet been observed. We obtain R(WS)(K pi pi0) = [0.229 +/- 0.015(stat)(+0.013)(-0.009)(syst)]% and R(WS)(K3pi) = [0.320 +/- 0.018(stat)(+0.018)(0.013)(syst)]%. The CP asymmetries are measured to be -0.006 +/- 0.053 and -0.018 +/- 0.044 for the K+ pi- pi0 and K+ pi- pi+ pi- final states, respectively. 相似文献

An optical frequency comb generator (OFCG) at 1064 nm with a modulation frequency of 2 GHz is developed for an accurate optical frequency link between iodine absorption lines near 532 nm. With the OFCG, we have measured frequency differences between seventeen 127I2 transitions with a measurement uncertainty of about 240 Hz (relatively 4.3×10−13), which is mainly contributed from the frequency repeatability of iodine-stabilized Nd:YAG lasers. The measured transitions provide an attractive frequency reference network and are excellent candidates for the practical realization of the meter. 相似文献

A parton shower method for the photonic radiative correction is applied to single W-boson production processes. The energy scale for the evolution of the parton shower is determined so that the correct soft-photon
emission is reproduced. Photon spectra radiated from the partons are compared with those from the exact matrix elements, and
show a good agreement. Possible errors due to an inappropriate energy-scale selection or due to the ambiguity of the energy-scale
determination are also discussed, particularly for the measurements on triple gauge couplings.

Double charged pion photoproductions from the deuteron have been studied at Research Center for Electron Photon Science (ELPH), Tohoku University. Tagged photon beams in an energy range of 0.67 ≤ E γ ≤ 1.08 GeV were impinged on the liquid deuteron target. Produced charged particles were observed with the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer2 (NKS2). The γ d → π + π ? d process was clearly separated among the three charged tracks. We obtained the photon energy dependence of the normalized yields of this process. 相似文献
