Variational inequality theory facilitates the formulation of equilibrium problems in economic networks. Examples of successful applications include models of supply chains, financial networks, transportation networks, and electricity networks. Previous economic network equilibrium models that were formulated as variational inequalities only included linear constraints; in this case the equivalence between equilibrium problems and variational inequality problems is achieved with a standard procedure because of the linearity of the constraints. However, in reality, often nonlinear constraints can be observed in the context of economic networks. In this paper, we first highlight with an application from the context of reverse logistics why the introduction of nonlinear constraints is beneficial. We then show mathematical conditions, including a constraint qualification and convexity of the feasible set, which allow us to characterize the economic problem by using a variational inequality formulation. Then, we provide numerical examples that highlight the applicability of the model to real-world problems. The numerical examples provide specific insights related to the role of collection targets in achieving sustainability goals.  相似文献

This paper develops a Daniell-Stone integration theory in topological vector lattices. Starting with an internal, vector valued, positive linear functionalI on an internal lattice of vector valued functions, we produce a nonstandard hull valued integralJ satisfying the monotone convergence theorem. Nonstandard hulls form a natural extension of infinite dimensional spaces and are equivalent to Banach space ultrapower constructions. The first application of our integral is a construction of Banach limits for bounded, vector valued sequences. The second example yields an integral representation for bounded and quasibounded harmonic functions similar to that of the Martin boundary. One challenge in the development of new drug formulations is overcoming their low solubility in relevant aqueous media. Reducing the particle size of drug powders to a few hundred nanometers is a well-known method that leads to an increase in solubility due to an elevated total surface area. However, state-of-the-art comminution techniques like cryo-milling suffer from degradation and contamination of the drugs, particularly when sub-micrometer diameters are aspired that require long processing times. In this work, picosecond-pulsed laser fragmentation in liquids (LFL) of dispersed drug particles in a liquid-jet passage reactor is used as a wear-free comminution technique using the hydrophobic oral model drugs naproxen, prednisolone, ketoconazole, and megestrol acetate. Particle size and morphology of the drug particles are characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and changes in particle size distributions upon irradiation are quantified using an analytical centrifuge. The findings highlight the superior fragmentation efficiency of the liquid-jet passage reactor setup, with a 100 times higher fraction of submicrometer particles (SMP) of the drugs compared to the batch control, which enhances solubility and goes along with minimal chemical degradation (<1%), determined by attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Moreover, the underlying predominantly photo-mechanically induced laser fragmentation mechanisms of organic microparticles (MP) are discussed.  相似文献

Optimization of a green approach to the synthesis of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles based on the one-pot, four-component condensation via a domino Knoevenagel/Michael/cyclization sequence was investigated. This method involved the evaluation of the activity of several ionic liquids (ILs) in various solvents. This one-pot, four-component reaction revealed simplicity, higher yield and lower toxicity advantages over a corresponding three-component method. The effect of reaction parameters including the type and amount of catalyst, type of solvent, reaction temperature and time were studied with respect to yield of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles. Catalyst recyclability and time-saving aspects of the reaction suggest that this method presents real alternatives over conventional reaction protocols.  相似文献

Introduction of a β-electron withdrawing group to cycloalkanones allows facile C-C bond fragmentation. The reaction has been demonstrated with a large range of ring sizes, bearing various leaving and electron withdrawing groups, and using a variety of nitrogen and oxygen containing nucleophiles (>30 examples). The application of fragmentation products to the preparation of substituted γ-lactones has been demonstrated.
