Resonant coupling of optical phonons to J-multiplet excitations in intermediate valent Sm0.75Y0.25S

An anomalous splitting of theJ=0J=1 multiplet transition has been observed by magnetic neutron scattering from intermediate valent Sm_0.75Y_0.25S. The splitting is discussed in terms of a resonant coupling of optical phonons to the magnetic exciton built from the localizedJ=0J=1 multiplet transition by magnetic intersite coupling.     

The role of the neutron electric form factor ind(e,e′ N)N including polarization observables

The influence of the neutron electric form factor on various observables in two-body break-up of deuterons by electrons such as differential cross section, beam, target and beam-target asymmetries and outgoing nucleon polarization as well is investigated for different kinematic regions. The electron-deuteron vector asymmetryA _ed ^V and the outgoing nucleon polarization component P′_x(n) are the most promising observables in and off the quasi-free region for a determination ofG _En. Also the single polarization observablesA _d ^T and P_y ⁰(p) and the double polarization observable P′_z(n) show significant influences fromG _En.     

Observation and analysis ofE mesons in\bar p p annihilation at rest in H2 gas

Antiproton-proton annihilation at rest in a gaseous H₂ target at NTP into the final state π⁺ π^? K ^± π^? (K ⁰) with an undetectedK ⁰ or \(\bar K^0 \) has been investigated. We observe theE(1420) resonance in the invariant mass spectrum (K ⁰)_miss K ^± π^? with massM _E =1413±8 MeV/c² and widthГ ^E =62 ± 16MeV/c² and find evidence for the production of thef ₁(1285). The absolute branching ratio of \(\bar p\) p → π⁺ π^? E ⁰,E ⁰ →K ₀ ^L K ^± π ^? at (61±6)%P wave annihilation is (3.0±0.9)·10^?4 of all annihilations. The observed suppression of theE production fromP wave with respect to theS wave together with some simple selection rules suggest that the quantum numbers of theE(1420) areJ ^pc=0^?+ and not I⁺⁺.     

Meromorphic extensions of regular holonomic distributions

In this paper we consider distributions of the form 1/P and dy/P(x,y), whereP is a polynomial. Using results by Kashiwara and Kawai we give fairly accessible proofs that these expressions can be defined as regular holonomic distributions by utilising a meromorphic parameter. We also discuss distributions of the form /P and their direct image , when one knows that is a regular holonomic distribution. All these distributions are relevant to the study of renormalised Feynman integrals.
