Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed with a high-resolution segmented echo-planar imaging technique, which provided images with substantially less susceptibility artifacts than images obtained with single-shot echo-planar imaging (EPI). Diffusion imaging performed with any multishot pulse sequence is inherently sensitive to motion artifacts and in order to reduce motion artifacts, the presented method utilizes navigator echo phase corrections, performed after a one-dimensional Fourier transform along the frequency-encoding direction. Navigator echo phases were fitted to a straight line prior to phase correction to avoid errors from internal motion. In vivo imaging was performed using electro cardiographic (ECG) triggering. Apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) maps were calculated on a pixel-by-pixel basis using up to seven diffusion sensitivities, ranging from b = 0 to 1129 x 10(6) s/m(2).  相似文献

In vitro as well as in vivo studies have shown prolonged T1 relaxation times in patients with acute leukemia. The mechanism behind this finding is not known. In order to evaluate if this was specific for leukemia we examined eight patients with polycythemia vera, representing a condition with a rather benign bone marrow neoplasia. In this group of patients we found prolonged T1 relaxation times but normal T2 relaxation times. This may indicate that the prolonged T1 relaxation time seen in leukemic bone marrow is not due to the malignant cell per se.  相似文献

The dual-plasma atomic fluorescence/atomic emission spectrometer (ASIA spectrometer) is described and the detection limits for several elements in both the fluorescence and the emission mode are presented and compared directly. The detection limits for the non-refractory elements are, in general, better in fluorescence than emission While for the refractory elements the converse is true, but all are in the ng ml−1 range. Growth curves for a refractory and a non-refractory element are presented and evaluated.  相似文献

A new approach to reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography has been developed and investigated in some detail. Bare silica is used as the column packing material with an aqueous eluent containing a buffer, an organic solvent as the modifier and a long-chain quaternary ammonium ion. The eluent exhibits a high affinity to the silica surface at pH values above 5, thus, dynamically, forming a nonpolar stationary phase.  相似文献

Insulin-like growth factors 1 and 2 were purified from porcine plasma. In addition to the determination of their isoelectric points, the primary structures of both proteins were determined, using low microgram quantities of protein, by the versatile combination of time-of-flight plasma desorption mass spectrometry and automated Edman degradation. Porcine insulin-like growth factor 1 was shown to be homologous to both human and bovine proteins; the type 2 growth factor showed one mutation to both human and bovine type 2 proteins.  相似文献

A method for semi-automatic background estimation in energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectra is outlined. Two cubic splines were investigated and the spline called the Butland interpolant was chosen for further investigation. Prior to the calculation of the spline, peak regions are set up, and suitable knots are defined outside the peak regions. To set up the peak regions, an automatic peak-search routine and a calibration equation are used. For a given peak, the latter relates the full width at half maximum (FWHM) to the peak centre. In turn, the size of the peak regions are defined by the FWHM multiplied by a constant given by the user. The method was tested on several types of spectra. It was found that the optimal size of the peak region decreased with increasing peak density. Reproducibility tests showed that the standard deviation of the summation of counts within a peak region and after background subtraction was less than would be expected from the counting statistics.  相似文献
