Several attempts to produce conducting polymer based all-solid-state reference electrodes are presented. Open circuit potential of conducting polymers is redox sensitive and Donan equilibrium dependent. Therefore, more sophisticated constructions are necessary. The powder neutron diffraction technique has been used for the direct observation of magnetic scattering below a Curie temperature of approximately 14 K in the fullerene-based molecular ferromagnet Eu6C60. Europium is in the divalent state with a magnetic moment of 7.1(3) muB per atom, and the configurational symmetry of the magnetic structure is body-centered cubic. Close contacts between Eu2+ and neighboring C60 units provide the signature of orbital hybridization, which can evidently account for the conducting and magnetic properties of the material. 相似文献

Two new acyltetramic acids related to streptolydigin have been isolated from fermentations of Streptomyces lydicus. The principal members of this complex were resolved by TLC on silica gel. However, the methods of detection, permanganate spray or bioautography, were not suitable for both crude fermentation broths and purified extracts. Gas chromatography is unsuitable for the detection of either underivatized or silylated streptolydigins. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) particularly on triethylaminoethyl cellulose is rapid and sensitive and is the method of choice for the analysis of both crude and purified samples. Using high performance liquid chromatography, two components were detected in the complex, which are not observed using any of the other chromatographic procedures. 相似文献

Capillary gel electrophoresis has proven to be a powerful tool in biomedical research. We report our investigation of some of the critical parameters affecting separations of single-stranded DNA fragments as monitored by ultraviolet (UV) absorbance detection. Although not as sensitive as laser-induced fluorescence (LIF), UV absorbance detection allows one to calculate quite accurately, and inexpensively, the molarity of each separated DNA fragment and, moreover, the signal “fading” effect normally observed with LIF detection can be, in many cases, substituted for fluorescence to detect the many different single-stranded DNAs, as well as for detection of sequencing reactions. 相似文献

A quick leaching test procedure for monolithic waste materials has been developed by a Nordic expert group using experimental factorial design. The Dutch quick leaching test proposal in which the wetting time of the test specimen is reduced by applying vacuum was chosen as a starting point. The influence of the following parameters were studied: vacuum, stirring, open or closed vessel, water renewal frequency, leachant quality and laboratory or batch differences. The study was performed with test specimens prepared from a cement stabilised soil containing As, Cr and Cu. The test specimens were immersed in water and the water was renewed at certain time intervals. The study clearly showed that the use of vacuum had a strong effect on the release rate and that the open vessel lowered the pH-values of the eluates due to uptake of carbon dioxide in the water. The results also indicate higher emissions when stirring was applied. The following test conditions are recommended: application of vacuum prior to testing, use of closed test vessel, use of stirring, a test time of 3 days with four water renewals after 15 min vacuum steps, and then after e.g. 2 h, 23 h and 3.2 days, use of demineralised water as leachant. The amount of water must be selected according to the size of the test specimen. A liquid to surface (L/A) ratio of 5-10 ml cm(-2) is recommended. Several independent synthetic routes are described leading to the formation of a novel unsaturated tetracyclic phosphorus carbon cage compound tBu4C4P6 (1), which undergoes a light-induced valence isomerization to produce the first hexaphosphapentaprismane cage tBu4C4P6 (2). A second unsaturated isomer tBu4C4P6 (9) of 1 and the bis-[W(CO)5] complex 13 of 1 are stable towards similar isomerization reactions. Another starting material for the synthesis of the hexaphosphapentaprismane cage tBu4C4P6 (2) is the trimeric mercury complex [(tBu4C4P6)Hg]3 (11), which undergoes elimination of mercury to afford the title compound 2. A new method for the determination of peroxyacetic acid (PAA) in gas phase samples is described. It is based on the oxidation of ABTS (2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline)-6-sulfonate) by PAA with formation of a radical cation which is characterized by four strong absorption maxima between 405 nm and 810 nm. These allow for sensitive spectrophotometric determination of the peracid. The selectivity of the method towards hydrogen peroxide is strongly dependent on the sampling method used. Impinger sampling and sampling based on the use of coated solid sorbents (test tubes) was performed. Limits of detection are 10(-8) mol, limits of quantification are 5 x 10(-8) mol, the linear range consists of 1.5 concentration decades in both cases. Using ABTS-coated test tubes above 1 x 10(-7) mol, direct reading of the results is possible and may be used as rapid screening method for the PAA concentration. 相似文献
