We propose an integrable system of coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger equations with cubic-quintic terms describing the effects of quintic nonlinearity on the ultrashort optical soliton pulse propagation in non-Kerr media. Lax pairs, conserved quantities and exact soliton solutions for the proposed integrable model are given. The explicit form of two solitons are used to study soliton interaction showing many intriguing features including inelastic (shape changing or intensity redistribution) scattering. Another system of coupled equations with fifth-degree nonlinearity is derived, which represents vector generalization of the known chiral-soliton bearing system. 相似文献

In this article, we present a brief overview of some of the recent progress made in identifying and generating finite dimensional integrable nonlinear dynamical systems, exhibiting interesting oscillatory and other solution properties, including quantum aspects. Specific systems include Mathews-Lakshmanan oscillators, modified Emden equations, isochronous oscillators and generalizations. In this paper, the problem of exponential synchronization of complex dynamical networks with Markovian jumping parameters using sampled-data and Mode-dependent probabilistic time-varying coupling delays is investigated. The sam- pling period is assumed to be time-varying and bounded. The information of probability distribution of the time-varying delay is considered and transformed into parameter matrices of the transferred complex dynamical network model. Based on the condition, the design method of the desired sampled data controller is proposed. By constructing a new Lyapunov functional with triple integral terms, delay-distribution-dependent exponential synchronization criteria are derived in the form of linear matrix inequalities. We consider the evolution of a classical Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin chain in its continuum limit in higher spatial dimensions. It is shown that the evolution of a radially symmetric chain could be identified with the motion of a helical space curve as in the linear case. The resulting invariant equations for the curvature (radial energy density) and torsion (related to current density) are shown to be equivalent to a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, similar to the one derived by Ruijgrok and Jurkiewicz recently. Equivalent linear equations as well as special static solutions of point singular type are obtained. Similarity solutions, a class of which belong to Riccati type, are discussed in detail. For general higher dimensions, a potentially useful formulation is presented: Under stereographic projection of the unit sphere of spin, the equation of motion takes a neater form even with the inclusion of anisotropic interactions. For a one-dimensional system of classical spins with nearest neighbour Heisenberg interaction we derive the equation of motion for each three-dimensional spin vector. In the continuum limit where the spins lie dense on a line this set of equations reduces to a nonlinear partial differential equation. In addition to spin-wave solutions we obtain some other special solutions of this equation. In particular we find solitary waves having total energy localised in a finite region, with velocity of propagation inversely proportional to the width of this region. Solutions of still another type are shown to have a diffusive character. The objective of these studies was to determine the course taken by Ra-226 in the Beaverlodge Mill circuit. The results obtained show that the dissolved portion of radium at any station is small relative to the total radium in the system (<1.5%) and hence the containment of radium from solutions within the Beaverlodge Mill circuit is not practical. In the Dorrclone Plant, treatment of the bulk tailings segregates the fine –75 m fraction. In this paper, we analyze the recursive merge sort algorithm and quantify the deviation of the output from the correct sorted order if the outcomes of one or more comparisons are in error. The disorder in the output sequence is quantified by four measures: the number of runs, the smallest number of integers that need to be removed to leave the sequence sorted, the number of inversions, and the smallest number of successive exchanges needed to sort the sequence. Occurrence of strong or mass synchronization of a large number of neuronal populations in the brain characterizes its pathological states. In order to establish an understanding of the mechanism underlying such pathological synchronization, we present a model of coupled populations of phase oscillators representing the interacting neuronal populations. Through numerical analysis, we discuss the occurrence of mass synchronization in the model, where a source population which gets strongly synchronized drives the target populations onto mass synchronization. We hypothesize and identify a possible cause for the occurrence of such a synchronization, which is so far unknown: Pathological synchronization is caused not just because of the increase in the strength of coupling between the populations but also because of the strength of the strong synchronization of the drive population. We propose a demand controlled method to control this pathological synchronization by providing a delayed feedback where the strength and frequency of the synchronization determine the strength and the time delay of the feedback. We provide an analytical explanation for the occurrence of pathological synchronization and its control in the thermodynamic limit. 相似文献
