The steps of protochlorophyllide (Pchlide) photoreduction and subsequent chlorophyllide (Chlide) transformations which occur in the seconds to minutes time-scale were studied using a diode array spectrofluorometer in dark-grown barley leaves. The intensity of the excitation light was varied between 3 and 2,500 micromol m(-2) s(-1) and a series of fluorescence spectra were recorded at room temperature in the seconds and minutes time scales. In certain experiments, 77-K emission spectra were measured with the same equipment. The high quality of the spectra allowed us to run spectral resolution studies which proved the occurrence, at room temperature, of multiple Pchlide and Chlide forms found previously in 77-K spectra. The comparison of the 77-K and room-temperature spectra showed that the fluorescence yields of the nonphotoactive 633-nm Pchlide form and of the Chlide product emitting at 678 nm were temperature independent. The fluorescence intensity of aggregated NADPH-pigment-POR complexes (photoactive 656-nm Pchlide and 693-nm Chlide forms) were strongly increased at 77 K, while that of the NADP(+)-Chlide-POR (684-686-nm Chlide form) was much less affected by temperature. Information was obtained also about the dynamics of the transformation of pigment forms in the light at different photon densities. At low light intensities, the phototransformation of the 642-644-nm Pchlide form was faster than that of the 654-656-nm form. The relative amplitudes of Gaussian components related to different Chlide forms found after exposure to a constant amount of photons strongly depended on the light intensity used. Strong quenching of all Chlide components occurred upon prolonged exposure to high intensity light. These effects are discussed by considering the interconversion processes between different forms of the pigment-protein complexes, their relative fluorescence yields and energy migration processes. 相似文献

Two new enantioselective syntheses of the naphthopyranquinone antibiotic frenolicin B ( 1 ), of its enantiomer 2 , and of its diastereoisomers 3 and 4 were accomplished using two different routes from optically active β-Hydroxy esters (R)- and (S)- 11 and 18. β-Hydroxy esters (R)- and (S)- 11 were prepared stereoselectively from optically active sulfenylacetates (S)- and (R)- 10 , respectively (Scheme 2, Method A). Alternatively, compound 18 was obtained in excellent yield by enantioselective hydrogenation of the corresponding β-keto ester 17 , using a chiral ruthenium-complex catalyst (Scheme 3, Method B). The objectives of this work was to obtain a total nitrogen concentration in milk with the Dumas method for industrial and research applications. This method was faster than the Kjheldal method (5 min against 2 h or 3 h) but less precise. A three factor experimental design was performed to optimize the instrument, a FP-2000 supplied by LECO. The first interpretation of the experimental design was disappointing and no conclusion could be done. It was not a failure of experimental design but a lack of thinking on the physical and chemical aspect of the problem. Selection and construction of composite responses based on chemical and physical consideration were the keys to optimize the Dumas method. The coordination chemistry of Zn in an N(3)ArOH environment has been explored. The ligands are based on calix[6]arenes that present two imidazole arms and an amino phenol moiety at the narrow rim. Three different types of complexes have been characterized. One is dicationic with Zn(2+) coordinated to the three nitrogen atoms and to the oxygen of the phenol group of the calix[6]ligand. This complex is very sensitive to exogenous coordinating molecules and exists as a 5-coordinate species due to the endo-complexation of a guest. The second species is a monocationic complex for which the phenol group has been deprotonated. The resulting N(3)ArOZn complex can also bind a guest ligand albeit with a lower affinity than the dicationic complex. The third species is neutral. It can be obtained upon reaction with a base to yield a hydroxo complex or with an anion such as a chloride that coordinates the metal center from the outside of the calixarene cavity. The simultaneous binding of two anionic donors decreases the Zn Lewis acidity, allowing an impressive conformational reorganization of the system. One imidazole arm is released by the metal center. The other one undergoes self-inclusion into the pi-basic calixarene cavity because the low affinity of the metal center for neutral ligand does not allow the endo-coordination of an exogenous guest. Hence, the calix[6]N(3)ArOH-based Zn complexes act as an acid-base switch for guest binding. In this paper, we report the synthesis of carbohydrate-derived 1,7-enynes and subsequent metathesis to yield polyhydroxylated 1-vinylcyclohexenes. For example, we converted D-glucose 2 to the (6,7)-dideoxy-D-gluco-hept-6-ene-pyranose 7, which led to the desired 1,7-enyne 16. The ring-closing metathesis of this 1,7-enyne 16 with the second generation Grubbs catalyst, under Mori's conditions, gave the corresponding polyhydroxylated 1-vinylcyclohexene 25 in 76% yield. The conversion of several aldohexoses into polyhydroxylated 1-vinylcyclohexenes was carried out with satisfying yields. We report also the synthesis of two carbohydrate-derived ethyl 8-yn-2-enoates from D-glucose derivatives. 相似文献

Novel acyclonucleosides (9a-d, 10a-d, 18a,b and 19a,b) have been prepared using Pd(0) and cross-metathesis methodologies. The allylic N-alkylation under Tsuji-Trost conditions was used to introduce the nucleobase, while the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction afforded C-5 substituted uracil analogues. The cross-metathesis performed with a ruthenium catalyst was used to provide new acycloalkenyl nucleosides. The antiviral activities of all final compounds have been evaluated. 相似文献
