We discuss the influence of the effect of droplet size on the surface tension γ and develop a self-consistent method to derive a relation between γ and the droplet radius r. Referring our expression for γ(r) to the surface of tension we recover Tolman's result.  相似文献

Nitration of 3-substituted-4-hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolones 1 with nitric acid leads either to 3-nitro- 2 or 3-hydroxyquinolinediones 3 , depending on the reaction conditions. 3-Substituted-3-hydroxyquinolinediones 3 are also obtained by oxidative hydroxylation with peracetic acid. Amination of 3-substituted-3-chloroquinolinediones 4 with ammonium hydroxide predominantly leads again to 3-substituted-3-hydroxyquinolinediones 3 , only in one case the 3-aminoquinolinedione 5 could be isolated. With morpholine or pyridine as amines the expected 3-aminoquinolinediones 6 and 7 were obtained.  相似文献

Metabolite identification plays a crucial role in the interpretation of metabolomics research results. Due to its sensitivity and widespread implementation, a favourite analytical method used in metabolomics is electrospray mass spectrometry. In this paper, we demonstrate our results in attempting to incorporate the potentials of multistage mass spectrometry into the metabolite identification routine. New software tools were developed and implemented which facilitate the analysis of multistage mass spectra and allow for efficient removal of spectral artefacts. The pre-processed fragmentation patterns are saved as fragmentation trees. Fragmentation trees are characteristic of molecular structure. We demonstrate the reproducibility and robustness of the acquisition of such trees on a model compound. The specificity of fragmentation trees allows for distinguishing structural isomers, as shown on a pair of isomeric prostaglandins. This approach to the analysis of the multistage mass spectral characterisation of compounds is an important step towards formulating a generic metabolite identification method. We discuss the kinetics of phase separation based on the mechanism of spinodal decomposition. The starting point is Boltzmann's transport equation. A perturbation theory will be developed leading to a hierarchy of differential equations for the local density. The first member of this hierarchy is a nonlinear wave-type equation, which linearized version will be solved in order to discuss the behaviour of the amplification factor. X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy was used to study a ferroan platinum crystal from the Kondyor Massif, Russian Far East. Prior to the X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopic analyses, the nature of the crystal was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The survey scan showed mainly the presence of Pt and Fe, with smaller amounts of O and Si. The high resolutions spectra of the Pt 4f and Fe 2p showed 18.3 atom% Fe in the crystal, which puts the composition on the lower boundary for ferroan platinum and confirms earlier analyses using other methods such as Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis/microprobe. The binding energy of the Pt 4f5/2 was 74.0?eV and Pt 4f7/2 70.5?eV, while the Fe 2p3/2 for metallic Fe was observed at 707.2?eV. The Fe 2p3/2 for metallic Fe was significantly sharper than that of Fe 2p3/2 at 710.7?eV associated with surface material. The Raman spectrum was dominated by the Pt–Pt stretching mode at 253?cm?1. Changed orientation resulted in the observation of two bands at 127 and 139?cm?1, interpreted as being due to stretching modes of two Pt–Pt bonds with the third bond to Fe and Pt fixed. The presence of Ca-Fe-Al-Mg-Si-O on the surface was probably associated with the presence of a clinopyroxene. These minerals can be expected since the crystal came originally from a clinopyroxenite-dunite matrix. The spectra showed a variety of interferences, e.g. Al 2p with Pt 4f, Mg 2p with Fe 3p, and Ca 2p1/2 with Mg Auger, making exact determinations of the ratios of these elements difficult.  相似文献

We describe the “Feynman diagram” approach to nonrelativistic quantum mechanics on \({\mathbb{R}^n}\), with magnetic and potential terms. In particular, for each classical path γ connecting points q 0 and q 1 in time t, we define a formal power series V γ (t, q 0, q 1) in \({\hbar}\), given combinatorially by a sum of diagrams that each represent finite-dimensional convergent integrals. We prove that exp(V γ ) satisfies Schrödinger’s equation, and explain in what sense the \({t \to 0}\) limit approaches the δ distribution. As such, our construction gives explicitly the full \({\hbar\to 0}\) asymptotics of the fundamental solution to Schrödinger’s equation in terms of solutions to the corresponding classical system. These results justify the heuristic expansion of Feynman’s path integral in diagrams.  相似文献

We investigate polymer stretching by fluctuating flow fields via numerical solutions of the Brownian dynamics of multibead polymer chains taking into account nonlinear elasticity, hydrodynamic interactions and good solvent, excluded volume interaction effects. By varying the scaling exponent of the energy spectrum whilst keeping the same Reynolds and Deborah numbers, as well as microscale length and turnover times, we show that steeper spectra are associated with stronger stretching. We compute the probability density functions of chain length, and explain their main features by examining explicit molecular histories. We quantify the interaction between strain rate tensor structure and chain geometry as a means of understanding better the different stretching mechanisms in mild, moderate and strong polymer stretching regimes.  相似文献

Dark-field illumination is known to enhance scattering contrast in optical microscopy. We combined this concept with Fourier domain optical coherence microscopy (OCM). The detection and illumination paths are decoupled, and only the scattered light originating from the sample generates the tomogram signal, whereas any specular reflection is highly suppressed. We analyze and discuss this dark-field OCM concept and present its superior imaging quality on live cell samples.  相似文献

Reduced binaural performance of hearing-impaired listeners may not only be caused by raised hearing thresholds (reduced audibility), but also by supra-threshold coding deficits in signal cues. This question was investigated in the present study using binaural intelligibility level difference (BILD) comparisons: the improvement of speech-reception threshold scores for N(0)S(π) relative to N(0)S(0) presentation conditions. Investigated was what types of supra-threshold deficits play a role in reducing BILDs in hearing-impaired subjects. BILDs were investigated for 25 mild to moderate sensorineural hearing-impaired listeners, under conditions where optimal audibility was assured. All stimuli were bandpass filtered (250-4000 Hz). A distortion-sensitivity approach was used to investigate the sensitivity of subjects BILDs to external stimulus perturbations in the phase, frequency, time, and intensity domains. The underlying assumption of this approach was that an auditory coding deficit occurring in a signal cue in a particular domain will result in a low sensitivity to external perturbations applied in that domain. Compared to reference data for listeners with normal BILDs, distortion-sensitivity data for a subgroup of eight listeners with reduced BILDs suggests that these reductions in BILD were caused by coding deficits in the phase and time domains.  相似文献
