Four samples from different crude oils were used for this study: light and heavy crude oils from Iran and two crude oils from Egypt, namely, Ras Gharb and Suez mix. The asphaltenes were separated from these crude oils and then the maltene (non‐asphaltenic fraction) was fractionated into waxes, aromatics, and resins. All fractions were characterized using FTIR and UV spectroscopic analyses in addition to gel permeation chromatograph (GPC). These fractions were tested for their emulsion stability. For chemometric analysis different parameters (variables) have been used to study the effect of different fractions (objects) on the emulsion stability. Such variables included the integrated areas under the stretching absorption peaks of CH in the range of 3000–2800 cm?1, C?O in the range of 1750–1650 cm?1, and the aromatic C?C in the range of 1650–1550 cm?1, as well as UV absorption value at 235 nm and average molecular weight (MW). Principal component analysis (PCA) and multiple linear regression (MLR) were conducted for examining the relationship between multiple variables and the stability of water‐in‐crude oil emulsions. The results of PCA explain the interrelationships between the observations and variables in multivariate data. The correlation coefficients between different parameters derived from PCA reveals that the UV absorption value and MW are strongly correlated with emulsion stability. It also reveals that the resins, asphaltenes, and maltene have better emulsion stability than waxes and lower molecular weight aromatics. The linear relationship between the parameters and the stability of water‐in‐crude oil emulsions using MLR was modeled according to the better statistical results. The obtained mathematical model can be used to predict the stability of water‐in‐crude oil emulsions from the chemical groups and functionalities in each crude oil fraction. 相似文献

Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) is a decorative plant; however, it possesses various pharmacological activities. Therefore, we explored the phytochemical profile of C. macrocarpa root methanol extract (CRME) for the first time. Moreover, we investigated its antidiarrheal (in vivo), antibacterial, and antibiofilm (in vitro) activities against Salmonella enterica clinical isolates. The LC-ESI-MS/MS analysis of CRME detected the presence of 39 compounds, besides isolation of 2,3,2″,3″-tetrahydro-4′-O-methyl amentoflavone, amentoflavone, and dihydrokaempferol-3-O-α-l-rhamnoside for the first time. Dihydrokaempferol-3-O-α-l-rhamnoside presented the highest antimicrobial activity and the range of values of MICs against S. enterica isolates was from 64 to 256 µg/mL. The antidiarrheal activity of CRME was investigated by induction of diarrhea using castor oil, and exhibited a significant reduction in diarrhea and defecation frequency at all doses, enteropooling (at 400 mg/kg), and gastrointestinal motility (at 200, 400 mg/kg) in mice. The antidiarrheal index of CRME increased in a dose-dependent manner. The effect of CRME on various membrane characters of S. enterica was studied after typing the isolates by ERIC-PCR. Its impact on efflux and its antibiofilm activity were inspected. The biofilm morphology was observed using light and scanning electron microscopes. The effect on efflux activity and biofilm formation was further elucidated using qRT-PCR. A significant increase in inner and outer membrane permeability and a significant decrease in integrity and depolarization (using flow cytometry) were detected with variable percentages. Furthermore, a significant reduction in efflux and biofilm formation was observed. Therefore, CRME could be a promising source for treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases. 相似文献

The contents of natural radionuclides in various types of sedimentary rocks in Um Bogma Formation and base of El Hashash Formation
were determined by gamma-ray spectrometry. Three types of lower Carboniferous sedimentary rocks were investigated; sandstone
(El Hashash Formation), dolostone and argillaceous sediments (Um Bogma Formation). The alteration processes are dolomitization,
dedolomitization, karstification and lateritization. The specific radioactivity of 238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K determined in different samples, indicate that 238U and its decay products contribute primarily to the high natural radioactivity of rocks. The maximum concentration of 238U reached up to 2129.36 ppm in argillaceous sediments. The average concentrations of determined radionuclides (238U, 226Ra, 232Th and 40K) are 8.34 ppm, 7.88 ppm, 4.68 ppm and 0.3%, respectively in sandstone. In dolostones the average concentrations are 418.69 ppm,
808.75 ppm, 3.14 ppm and 0.29%, respectively. For argillaceous sediments are 276.88 ppm, 419.49 ppm, 11.47 ppm and 0.93%,
respectively. The 238U/226Ra ratio in sandstone ranges between 0.89 and 1.25, while in dolostones and argillaceous sediments are 0.27–2.63 and 0.27–1.83,
respectively. These variations in the concentrations of radioelements and their ratios are due to the action of the alteration
processes affected these different sedimentary rocks in different times. Environmentally, the Raeq in dolostones and argillaceous sediments exceeds the permitted limits, while in the sandstone samples; it is within the permissible
