Results of calculation of the fireball radius as measured by means of the Hanbury-Brown and Twiss (HBT) effect are interpreted in the context of Landau's hydrodynamical model. A method based on a simple geometric picture of fireball formation is used to deduce the pion radius. From available data of various \(\bar p\) p annihilations andπ ± p,K + p collisions, it is foundr π=0.76±0.22 fm. A derivation is given on the decoherence factor of the Kopylov formula. A discussion is presented on other applications of the HBT effect to particle physics.  相似文献

We present an application of our recently proposed coupled reference interaction site model (RISM) molecular dynamics (MD) solvation free energy methodology [Freedman and Truong, Chem. Phys. Lett. 381, 362 (2003); J. Chem. Phys. 121, 2187 (2004)] to study the conformational stability of alanine dipeptide in aqueous solution. In this methodology, radial distribution functions obtained from a single MD simulation are substituted into a RISM expression for solvation free energy. Consequently, iterative solution of the RISM equation is not needed. The relative solvation free energies of seven different conformations of the alanine dipeptide in aqueous solution are calculated. Results from the coupled RISM/MD methodology are in good agreement with those from earlier simulations using the accurate free energy perturbation approach, showing that the alphaR conformation is most stabilized by solution. This study establishes a framework for applying this coupled RISM/MD method to larger biological systems.  相似文献

The evaluation and interpretation of the behavior of construction materials under fire conditions have been complicated. Over the last few years, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a reliable method to tackle this engineering problem. This review summarizes existing studies that applied AI to predict the fire performance of different construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, timber, and composites). The prediction of the flame retardancy of some structural components such as beams, columns, slabs, and connections by utilizing AI-based models is also discussed. The end of this review offers insights on the advantages, existing challenges, and recommendations for the development of AI techniques used to evaluate the fire performance of construction materials and their flame retardancy. This review offers a comprehensive overview to researchers in the fields of fire engineering and material science, and it encourages them to explore and consider the use of AI in future research projects.  相似文献

Magnesium batteries, like lithium-ion batteries, with higher abundance and similar efficiency, have drawn great interest for large-scale applications such as electric vehicles, grid energy storage and many more. On the other hand, the use of organic electrode materials allows high energy-performance, metal-free, environmentally friendly, versatile, lightweight, and economically efficient magnesium storage devices. In particular, the structural diversity and the simple activity of organic molecules make redox properties, and hence battery efficiency, easy to monitor. While organic magnesium batteries still in their infancy, this field becomes more and more promising because significant results were reported. To summarize the achievements in studies on organic cathodes for magnesium systems, their synthesis is discussed, combined with electrode design to provide the basis for controlling the electrochemical properties. Moreover, the techniques to synthesize organic materials with high-yield are mentioned. Finally, potential problems and prospects are explored to further improve organic cathodes.  相似文献

A novel method combining the experimental data at only two different mixed mode fractures and an empirical interface toughness function has been proposed to establish the interfacial toughness function of a bimaterial in submicron scale. The modified four-point bend specimen was used in experiment to evaluate the first type of mixed mode fracture, while the sandwiched cantilever specimen was employed to get the second one. An empirical interface toughness function reflecting quite accurately the delamination behavior was adopted as a typical one. The obtained results investigated that the proposed method could be used to calibrate not only the interfacial fracture criteria at pure modes but also at any mixed mode fracture of bimaterials in submicron scale.  相似文献

We construct a quantum circuit to produce a task-oriented partially entangled state and use it as the quantum channel for controlled joint remote state preparation. Unlike most previous works, where the parameters of the quantum channel are given to the receiver who can accomplish the task only probabilistically by consuming auxiliary resource, operation and measurement, here we give them to the supervisor. Thanks to the knowledge of the task-oriented quantum channel parameters, the supervisor can carry out proper complete projective measurement, which, combined with the feed-forward technique adapted by the preparers, not only much economizes (simplifies) the receiver's resource (operation) but also yields unit total success probability. Notably, such apparent perfection does not depend on the entanglement degree of the shared quantum channel. Our protocol is within the reach of current quantum technologies.  相似文献
