Different possible pathways of the aminolysis reaction of succinic anhydride were investigated by applying high level electronic structure theory, examining the general base catalysis by amine and the general acid catalysis by acetic acid, and studying the effect of solvent. The density functional theory at the B3LYP/6-31G(d) and B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) levels was employed to investigate the reaction pathways for the aminolysis reaction between succinic anhydride and methylamine. The single point ab initio calculations were based on the second-order M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory (MP2) with 6-31G(d) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets and CCSD(T)/6-31G(d) level calculations for geometries optimized at the B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. A detailed analysis of the atomic movements during the process of concerted aminolysis was further obtained by intrinsic reaction coordinate calculations. Solvent effects were assessed by the polarized continuum model method. The results show that the concerted mechanism of noncatalyzed aminolysis has distinctly lower activation energy compared with the addition/elimination stepwise mechanism. In the case of the process catalyzed by a second methylamine molecule, asynchronous proton transfer takes place, while the transition vectors of the acid-catalyzed transition states correspond to the simultaneous motion of protons. The most favorable pathway of the reaction was found through the bifunctional acid catalyzed stepwise mechanism that involves formation of eight-membered rings in the transition state structures. The difference between the activation barriers for the two mechanisms averages 2 kcal/mol at various levels of theory.  相似文献

Using laser Doppler velocimetry in the superheterodyne mode, we conducted a systematic study of the electrophoretic mobility of dispersions of small silica spheres (a=18 nm) suspended in water at different salinities and particle concentrations. The concentration of NaCl was varied from 40 microM up to 16 mM, while the particle concentrations were varied between 4.2x10(18) and 2.1x10(20) m-3. We find a decrease of mobility with increasing salt concentrations and an increase with increased particle number densities. The latter observation is not backed by the standard cell model of electrophoresis with Shilov-Zharkikh boundary conditions. Rather, if the experimental data are interpreted within that model, an unexpected change of the zeta potential at constant added salt concentration results. Interestingly, all experimental data collapse onto a single master curve, if plotted versus the ratio C* of particle counterions to added salt ions. We obtain a logarithmic increase of mobility for C*<1 and a plateau for C*>1. This may indicate a change of the Stern layer structure not yet included in the theoretical model.  相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations of ultrathin heptane films (less than 5 nm in thickness) in water were conducted to study their stability and disintegration behavior. The density distributions of heptane and water molecules across the film were determined for different equilibrium film thicknesses ranging from 1.5 to 4 nm. The potential energy of the system was computed as a function of the heptane number fraction, and the results were employed to determine the excess energy of mixing of heptane in water. The diffusion coefficients of heptane and water obtained from the MD simulations were also compared with experimental data. A good agreement was found between the heptane self-diffusivity obtained from the MD simulations and its literature reported value. Following an analysis of the equilibrium properties of the heptane films and associated structures, we performed simulations where the shapes of the heptane films were initially perturbed. Different perturbations of these ultrathin films led to formation of various associated structures, including cylindrical rodlike heptane droplets, films with holes, and intact films. The different shapes are formed in systems with the same heptane/water composition. An analysis of this behavior is presented showing the possibility of multiple associated structures with similar total energy in these highly confined systems.  相似文献

Nonlinear free vibration of functionally graded shallow shells with complex planform is investigated using the R-functions method and variational Ritz method. The proposed method is developed in the framework of the first-order shear deformation shallow shell theory. Effect of transverse shear strains and rotary inertia is taken into account. The properties of functionally graded materials are assumed to be varying continuously through the thickness according to a power law distribution. The Rayleigh–Ritz procedure is applied to obtain the frequency equation. Admissible functions are constructed by the R-functions theory. To implement the proposed approach, the corresponding software has been developed. Comprehensive numerical results for three types of shallow shells with positive, zero and negative curvature with complex planform are presented in tabular and graphical forms. The convergence of the natural frequencies with increasing number of admissible functions has been checked out. Effect of volume fraction exponent, geometry of a shape and boundary conditions on the natural and nonlinear frequencies is brought out. For simply supported rectangular FG shallow shells, the results obtained are compared with those available in the literature. Comparison demonstrates a good accuracy of the approach proposed.  相似文献

The paper presents the original study of photoluminescence (PL) and Raman scattering spectra of core–shell CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) covered by the amine-derivatized polyethylene glycol (PEG) with luminescence interface states. First commercially available CdSe/ZnS QDs with emission at 640 nm (1.94 eV) covered by PEG polymer have been studied in nonconjugated states. PL spectra of nonconjugated QDs are characterized by a superposition of PL bands related to exciton emission in a CdSe core and to the hot electron–hole recombination via high energy luminescence states. The study of high energy PL bands in QDs at different temperatures has shown that these PL bands are related to luminescence interface states at the CdSe/ZnS or ZnS/polymer interface. Then CdSe/ZnS QDs have been conjugated with biomolecules—the Osteopontin antibodies. It is revealed that the PL spectrum of bioconjugated QDs changed essentially with decreasing hot electron–hole recombination flow via luminescence interface states. It is shown that the QD bioconjugation process to Osteopontin antibodies is complex and includes the covalent and electrostatic interactions between them. The variation of PL spectra due to the bioconjugation is explained on the basis of electrostatic interaction between the QDs and biomolecule dipoles that stimulates re-charging QD interface states. The study of Raman scattering of bioconjugated CdSe/ZnS QDs has confirmed that the antibody molecules have the electric dipoles. It is shown that CdSe/ZnS QDs with luminescence interface states are promising for the study of bioconjugation effects with specific antibodies and can be a powerful technique in biology and medicine.  相似文献

Open cell foams are a class of modern materials which is interesting for a wide variety of applications and which is not accessible to classical materialography based on 2d images. 3d imaging by micro computed tomography is a practicable alternative. Analysis of the resulting volume images is either based on a simple binarisation of the image or on so-called cell reconstruction by image processing. The first approach allows to estimate mean characteristics like the mean cell volume using the typical cell of a random spatial tessellation as model for the cell shape. The cell reconstruction allows estimation of empirical distributions of cell characteristics. This paper summarises the theoretical background for the first method, in particular estimation of the intrinsic volumes and their densities from discretized data and models for random spatial tessellations. The accuracy of the estimation method is assessed using the dilated edge systems of simulated random spatial tessellations.  相似文献
