We prepared polymer-stabilised cubic and amorphous blue phase liquid crystals consisting of the same materials at different UV-curing temperatures using photopolymerisation. Then we investigated the effects of polymer stabilisation on their physical properties. The UV-curing temperature does not affect phase stabilisation of the polymer-stabilised amorphous BPIII (PS-BPIII). Temperatures of the PS-BPIII were found to be extended to more than 50 K. However, a critical temperature exists in the polymer stabilisation process for the PS-cubic BP. Although no substantial difference in response speed was found between the polymer-stabilised cubic and amorphous structures, larger hysteresis and higher residual birefringence were observed in the PS-cubic BP than in the PS-BPIII. Amorphous BPIII with an amorphous network of disclination lines has no critical temperature for the polymer stabilisation and realises a high-performance display. 相似文献

The chemical functionalization of hydrogen-terminated silicon(111) surfaces with photochromic diarylethene using an ethylene anchoring group was achieved. Direct trifluoromethylation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with CF3I in the presence of a Fenton reagent in dimethylsulfoxide was investigated. 1,3-Diketones, 3-oxocarboxylates and 3-oxocarboxamides were readily trifluoromethylated at the methylene carbon between two oxo groups. Cycloaddition of hydrazine derivatives to the obtained 2-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds provided fluorinated pyrazoles. 4-(Trifluoromethyl)pyrazole derivatives were formed from 2-(trifluoromethyl)-1,3-diketones, while 3-oxo-2-(trifluoromethyl)carboxylates or carboxamides gave 5-fluoropyrazole-4-carboxylates or carboxamides, respectively, via 3-hydrazono-2-(trifluoromethyl)carboxylates or carboxamides as an intermediate. 相似文献
Electrospun ultrafine silica fibers were calcined at 150–800 °C. The relation of calcination temperature to the ability to
form biomimetic apatite in a simulated body fluid solution (SBF) was evaluated. The largest apatite particles, formed on non-calcined
fibers after 1 week of soaking in SBF, were 10 μm in diameter, had a narrow size distribution (coefficient of variation 9%),
and were similar to pearls on string. The particles size decreased with increasing calcination temperature below 250 °C and
the particles formed on the fibers calcined at 250 °C were 4.5 μm in diameter. No particles were found on those calcined above
500 °C. By using a concentrated SBF at 1.5-times higher ionic concentrations than SBF, the size of apatite microparticles
increased about 50%. The fibrous substrate covered with apatite particles was effective for osteoblastic differentiation of

Sort the bigs from the smalls : Reverse‐selective membranes, through which bigger molecules selectively permeate, are attractive for developing chemical processes. A new adsorption‐based reverse‐selective membrane that utilizes a Na cation occluded in a zeolitic framework is presented. The membrane developed enables the selective permeation and separation of bigger polar molecules, such as methanol and water, from hydrogen above 473 K.
(6Z,9Z,12Z)-6,9,12-Octadecatriene and (3Z,6Z,9Z,12Z)-3,6,9,12-icosatetraene, hydrocarbons unsaturated more highly than usual lepidopteran Type II pheromones, were identified from geometrid females of Hemithea tritonaria and Thalassodes immissaria intaminata, respectively. The triene was synthesized by a double Wittig reaction between hexanal and an ylide derived from (Z)-1,6-diiodo-3-hexene, and the tetraene was synthesized by a coupling between (Z)-3-undecenal and an ylide derived from (3Z,6Z)-1-iodo-3,6-nonadiene. Each synthetic compound attracted males of the corresponding emerald moths in a field. 相似文献
