The decomposition of dimethyl sulfide (DMS) at initial concentrations of 4.5–18.0 ppmv in air was studied under electron-beam (EB) irradiation. Doses to decompose 90% of input DMS were 2.5 kGy for 4.5 ppmv, 3.4 kGy for 10.6 ppmv, and 3.9 kGy for 18.0 ppmv. HCOOH, (CH3)2SO, and trace CH3OH and (CH3)2SO2 were produced as irradiation products in addition to CO2 and CO. Application of an O3 decomposition catalyst to an irradiated sample gas led to an enhancement in the oxidation of DMS and its products into CO2 and the decomposition of O3. For 10.6 ppmv DMS/air, the mineralization ratio increased from 41% via only EB irradiation to 100% via the combination treatment at 6.3 kGy. The yield of CO2 to COx increased from 5.3 to 87.6% by combination with catalytic oxidation. This combination treatment enables the irradiation energy used to deodorize gas streams containing DMS to be reduced.  相似文献

We report a new and facile method for synthesizing 3D platinum nanoflowers (Pt Nfs) on a scratched silicon substrate by electroless galvanic displacement and discuss the applications of the Pt Nfs in surface‐assisted laser desorption/ionization‐mass spectrometry (SALDI‐MS). Surface scratching of n‐type silicon is essential to induce Pt Nf growth on a silicon substrate (to obtain a Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate) by the galvanic displacement reaction. The Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate showed excellent SALDI activity in terms of the efficient generation of protonated molecular ions in the absence of a citrate buffer. We propose that the acidity of the Si? OH moieties on silicon increases because of the electron‐withdrawing nature of the Pt Nfs; hence, proton transfer from the Si? OH groups to the analyte molecules is enhanced, and finally, thermal desorption of the analyte ions from the surface occurs. Signal enhancement was observed for protonated molecular ions produced from a titania nanotube array (TNA) substrate on which Pt nanoparticles had been photochemically deposited. Moreover, surface modification of the Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate by perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane (FDTS) (to obtain an FDTS‐Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate) was found to facilitate soft SALDI of labile compounds. More interestingly, the FDTS‐Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate acts 1) as a high‐affinity substrate for phosphopeptides and 2) as a SALDI substrate. The feasibility of using the FDTS‐Pt Nf silicon hybrid plate for SALDI‐MS has been demonstrated by using a β‐casein digest and various analytes, including small molecules, peptides, phosphopeptides, phospholipids, carbohydrates, and synthetic polymers. The hybridization of Pt Nfs with a scratched silicon substrate has been found to be important for achieving excellent SALDI activity.  相似文献

We investigated photoinduced electron accumulation in a colloidal system of layered hexaniobate that is known as a photocatalytically active wide band-gap semiconductor, and attempted to control the photoresponse by introducing additives into the colloid. The inorganic nanosheets were obtained by exfoliation of the layered oxide. UV-irradiation of the colloids led to electron accumulation in the nanosheets to generate reduced niobate species. Propylammonium ions introduced as the exfoliating reagent and present as the counter ions of niobate nanosheets were indicated as the electron donor that stabilized the electron-accumulating state. Yield and half-life of the reduced niobate species greatly increased by adding an appropriate amount of photochemically inert clay nanosheets, while they increased only a little by the addition of molecular electron donors such as EDTA and triethanolamine. Moreover, the molecular species diminished the enhancement effect of the clay nanosheets. The results suggested that the photochemical event was not explained by direct interactions between the semiconductor nanosheets and the additives at molecular level but governed by indirect interactions between the colloid components regulated by the colloid structure.  相似文献

Recombinant human serum albumin (rHSA) incorporating the iron(II) complex of the tetraphenylporphyrin derivative (FepivP or FecycP) is a synthetic O2‐carrying hemoprotein [albumin‐heme (rHSA‐FepivP or rHSA‐FecycP)], which acts as a red blood cell substitute. The association and dissociation behavior of FepivP and FecycP with rHSA has been initially investigated by isothermal titration calorimetry. A strong heat release appeared after the injection of albumin‐heme into a large molar excess of rHSA. This exothermic enthalpy change was due to the transference of hemes to the other free albumins.
