Catalytic oxidation of methanol (MeOH) in the absence of noble metals and noble metal oxides as catalysts, and the use of metal-free materials are inexpensive and attractive process for practical use in electrocatalysis, sensors, and in direct methanol fuel cells. In previous works, it was found that the use of single-walled (SWCNT) or multi-walled (MWCNT) carbon nanotube paper electrodes instead of GC increases the catalytic efficiency of organic compounds oxidation in the presence of aromatic di-N-oxides by several times. In this work, the effect of non-covalent interactions on the catalytic efficiency of MeOH oxidation in the presence of 2,5-di-Me-pyrazine-di-N-oxide (Pyr1) in 0.1 M Bu4NClO4 solution in acetonitrile at SWCNT and MWСNT paper electrodes was studied by the methods of quantum chemical modeling, Raman spectroscopy, and using electrochemical data. New factors determined the features of mechanism of MeOH oxidation on CNT electrodes and lead to an increase in the catalytic efficiency of the electrode process in comparison with the GC electrode were established. 相似文献
A PdAg deposit containing ~ 25 at.% Ag is obtained by the electrochemical codeposition from an aqueous solution of Pd and Ag sulfates (Au support, 0.5 M H2SO4). The deposit is characterized by means of various physical, physicochemical, and electrochemical methods. The PdAg deposit demonstrates the ~ 2 times higher specific activity (per the electrochemically active surface area (EASA) of Pd) in the formic acid oxidation reaction (FAOR) as compared with the individual Pd deposit prepared under the same conditions. The effect of silver additions on the palladium activity depends on many factors. The corrosion stability of PdAg is studied in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution based on the overall cyclic voltammograms (CVAs) and also on anodic and cathodic half-cycles in the region E = 0.3 − 1.25 V (vs. reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE)). The electrochemical estimates are compared with the results of direct analytical determination of dissolution products in solution after anodic polarization of deposits. The total amounts of Pd dissolved substantially increase with incorporation of Ag, which is associated, first of all, with the considerable increase in the EASA; at the same time, the specific dissolution of Pd also substantially increases. The possible factors determining the active dissolution of PdAg deposits are discussed; in particular, the specific mechanism of their dissolution via silver adatoms is proposed.
Electrochemical sensors for the analysis of TNT with enhanced sensitivities are described. The enhanced sensitivities are achieved by tailoring pi-donor-acceptor interactions between TNT and pi-donor-modified electrodes or pi-donor-cross-linked Au nanoparticles linked to the electrode. In one configuration a p-aminothiophenolate monolayer-modified electrode leads to the analysis of TNT with a sensitivity corresponding to 17 ppb (74 nM). In the second configuration, the cross-linking of Au NPs by oligothioaniline bridges to the electrode yields a functionalized electrode that detects TNT with a sensitivity that corresponds to 460 ppt (2 nM). Most impressively, the imprinting of molecular TNT recognition sites into the pi-donor oligoaniline-cross-linked Au nanoparticles yields a functionalized electrode with a sensitivity that corresponds to 46 ppt (200 pM). The electrode reveals high selectivity, reusability, and stability. 相似文献
Four-arm star-shaped poly(2-isopropyl-2-oxazolines) (PiPrOx4) are synthesized by cationic polymerization on t-butylcalix[4]arene macroinitiator. The obtained samples differ by polymerization degree of arms NPiPrOx = 9 and 25 and are characterized in chloroform. The behavior in aqueous solutions is studied by light scattering methods and compared with the results of investigation of eight-arm star with similar structure. Three types of particles are observed in solution of short-arm PiPrOx4 at room temperature, whereas only two particle types are present in long-arm star solution. Arm shortening leads to widening of the phase transition interval. The arm number decreasing reduces the phase transition temperature by 1°C. 相似文献
Interaction of human plasma fibrinogen (HPF) with fumed nanosilica A-300 in a phosphate buffer solution (PBS) was studied
using 1H NMR spectroscopy with layer-by-layer freezing-out of bulk and interfacial water in the temperature range of 210–273 K, TSDC
(90 < T < 265 K), adsorption, FTIR, and UV spectroscopy methods. An increase in concentration of HPF in the PBS leads to a decrease
in amounts of structured water (frozen at T < 273 K) because of coagulation of HPF molecules. Addition of nanosilica to the HPF solution strongly reduces the amounts
of structured water because of adsorption interaction of HPF molecules with silica nanoparticles, self-association of HPF
molecules, formation of denser packed hybrid agglomerates with HPF and silica, and lastly, because of conformational changes
of HPF. A monolayer adsorption capacity of A-300 corresponds to 156 mg of HPF per gram of silica. The FTIR and UV spectra
show that the HPF adsorption on silica leads to structural changes of the protein molecules. These changes and formation of
hybrid HPF/A-300 aggregates can increase the rate of clotting that is of importance on nanosilica application as a component
of tourniquet preparations.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry makes it possible to generate gas-phase bis-ethylenediamine nickel and copper dications, [M(en)(2)](2+) (M = Ni, 1; M = Cu, 2), as well as their {[M(en)(2)]@cuc[8]}(2+) inclusion complexes with the macrocyclic cavitand cucurbit[8]uril (cuc[8]). The unimolecular gas-phase reactivity of these species has been investigated by electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry with a quadrupole-time-of-flight configuration. Distinctive fragmentation pathways have been observed for the free and encapsulated [M(en)(2)](2+) (M = Ni, Cu) dications under collision-induced dissociation (CID) conditions. The dications [M(en)(2)](2+) (M = Ni, Cu) dissociate according to several competitive pathways that involve intra-complex hydrogen or electron-transfer processes. Most of these channels are suppressed after encapsulation inside the cucurbit[8]uril macrocycle and, as a consequence, a simplification of the {[M(en)(2)]@cuc[8]}(2+) fragmentation pattern is observed. The results obtained demonstrate that the encapsulation of a coordination complex inside a host molecule can be used to alter the nature of the product ions generated under CID conditions. 相似文献
Cyclic tetrameric complexes have been prepared by the reaction of Pd(en)Cl2 or Pd(dapol)Cl2, or their nitrato analogues, with Na2(5'GMP) in aqueous solution, where en=1,2-diaminoethane, dapol=1,3-diamino-2-propanol, and 5'GMP=guanosine 5'-monophosphate. Addition of certain small molecules containing hydrophobic groups resulted in the expansion of the tetramer to a cyclic hexamer with strong bonding of one guest per hexameric host. At pH 5-6, the guest molecule can be a cation, anion, or neutral, and those species containing trimetylsilyl and t-butyl groups bonded the most strongly. The size of the central cavity of the [Pd(en)(5'GMP)]6 host has been estimated to be 5.2 A. Formation of the host-guest complex caused a large upfield shift (Deltadelta) of 2.5-2.9 ppm in the 1H NMR spectrum of the most highly affected guest protons, which were those in closest proximity to the guanine nucleobases. NOESY spectra were used to determine the interaction sites between the host and the guest. Apparent association constants determined at 26 degrees C and pD 5.4 for the [Pd(en)(5'GMP)]6-DSS and [Pd(en)(5'GMP)]6-t-butanol systems, where DSS is 3-(trimethylsilyl)-1-propanesulfonate anion, were 1.36+/-0.11x10(4) and 2.74+/-0.95x10(4) M(-3/2), respectively. The Pd(dapol)-5'GMP system forms hexameric host-guest complexes, similar in nature to those of the Pd(en)-5'GMP system. The molecular and crystal structures of Pd(dapol)Cl2 are also reported. 相似文献
