FTIR study of CO adsorption on molybdena-alumina catalysts for surface characterization

CO adsorption at low temperature has been used to probe Lewis acid sites created upon dehydroxylation of γ-Al₂O₃ and reduction of Mo/Al₂O₃ catalysts, using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Carbon-monoxide adsorption on γ-Al₂O₃ and Mo/Al₂O₃ catalysts dehydroxylated and reduced at different temperatures was studied at 78 K by IR spectroscopy. However, our results indicate that there is an approximately linear correlation between the increase either of dehydroxylation or the extent of reduction of the catalysts and the increasing absorbance of CO due to CO adsorption on Lewis acid sites created upon dehydroxylation of γ-Al₂O₃ and reduction of Mo/Al₂O₃.

Pyrrolopyrimidines. 5. Reaction of 6-Amino-1,3-dimethylpyrrolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-diones with 1,3-Diketones

The reaction of 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrrolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine-2,4-dione with 1,3-diketones leads to formation of predominantly pyrimido[4',5':3,4]pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyridazine-2,4(1H,3H)-diones and, to a lesser extent, pyrimido[5',4':3,4]pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyridazine-1,3(2H,4H)-diones. The ease and direction of the cyclization reaction suggests a very -electron rich pyrrole ring in the initial state, especially in the position 7.     

The raised-cosine wavelets in computerized tomography

In Computerized Tomography (CT), an image must be recovered from its sampled projections in the form of values of the Radon transform. In this work a method of recovering the image is based on the properties of the raised-cosine wavelet. This wavelet has a closed form which allows for certain precomputations and avoids convolution. The rate of convergence of the resulting algorithm to the image density function is found under suitable hypotheses. This algorithm is then tested on the standard Shepp–Logan

Features of the stokes vector of polarized radiation when passing through a magneto-optical crystal under conditions of magnetomechanical resonance

Components of the Stokes vector are shown to undergo amplitude- and phase-frequency variations for a magneto-optical thin rod-shaped crystal located under conditions of magnetomechanical resonance when the variable magnetic field is directed at an acute angle to the light propagation axis coinciding with the crystal oscillation axis. It is noted that the phase relations for these components must be taken into account for polarized light when finding the connection between the variable and constant components of the Stokes vector.
