Free convection in an electrically conducting fluid in a vertical channel under the action of an applied magnetic field has been discussed. The induced magnetic field has been included in the flow analysis. The equations describing the transport processes have been solved numerically. The effects of these processes, parameterized by a number of non-dimensional parameters have been discussed on the developing velocity and induced magnetic field profiles.  相似文献

Using the random phase approximation, we show that a crossed-chains model of spin-1/2 Heisenberg chains with frustrated interchain couplings has a nondimerized spin-liquid ground state in 2D, with deconfined spinons as the elementary excitations. The results are confirmed by a bosonization study, which shows that the system is an example of a "sliding Luttinger liquid." In an external field, the system develops an incommensurate field-induced long-range order with a finite transition temperature.  相似文献

In recent years multi-spectral device is steadily growing popularity. Multi-spectral antireflection coating effective in visible region for sighting system, laser wavelength for ranging and MWIR region for thermal system can use common objective/receiver optics highly useful for state of art thermal instrumentation. In this paper, design and fabrication of antireflection coating simultaneously effective in visible region (450–650 nm), Eye safe laser wave length (1540 nm) and MWIR region (3.6–4.9 μm) has been reported. Comprehensive search method of design was used and the number of layers in the design was optimised with lowest evaluated merit function studied with respect to various layers. Finally eight-layer design stack was established using hafnium oxide as high index layer and silicon-di-oxide as low index coating material combination. The multilayer stack had been fabricated by using electron beam gun evaporation system in Symphony 9 vacuum coating unit. During layer deposition the substrate was irradiated with End-Hall ion gun. The evaporation was carried out in presence of oxygen and layer thicknesses were measured with crystal monitor. The result achieved for the antireflection coating was 85% average transmission from 450 to 650 nm in visible region, 95% transmission at 1540 nm and 96% average transmission from 3.6 to 4.9 μm in MWIR region.  相似文献

The present paper reports sign inversion in dielectric anisotropy of a nematic liquid crystal, i.e. 5CB, as an effect of doping dye (solvent green 3) in small amount. It is the result of strong variation of the parallel component of dielectric permittivity with temperature for a dye doped sample. This behavior is attributed to the interaction taking place between the nematic liquid crystal molecule and the dye molecule. This behavior of dielectric anisotropy has been explained on the basis of interaction between the dye (guest) and the liquid crystal molecules (host).  相似文献

A highly efficient one-pot, two-step microwave procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 4-substituted 1-heteroarylpiperazines. Microwave heating of heteroaryl chlorides with 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) at 160 °C for 15 min yielded 1-heteroaryl-4-(2-chloroethyl)piperazines, which could be further reacted with various nucleophiles, again under microwave irradiation conditions, to give an array of 4-substituted 1-heteroarylpiperazines in good to excellent yields.  相似文献

We have recently demonstrated the biological synthesis of gold nanoparticles by the reduction of aqueous chloroaurate ions by the fungus Fusarium oxysporum and with extract of geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) leaf. In this paper, we demonstrate the immobilization of biogenic gold nanoparticles in lipid thin films deposited by thermal evaporation. The charge on the gold nanoparticles synthesized by both the fungus and the geranium plant extract is used to facilitate their immobilization in both anionic and cationic lipid thin films. A rough estimate of the isoelectric point of the proteins capping the gold nanoparticles synthesized using the fungus could be made by pH-dependent microgravimetry studies of the immobilization process. An interesting size and shape selectivity in the immobilized gold nanoparticles is observed in the lipid thin films. The biogenic gold nanoparticle-lipid composite films were characterized using quartz crystal microgravimetry, UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy.  相似文献

In the present study, we report the dielectric behavior of a high temperature nematic liquid crystal (NLC) in both the planar as well as homeotropic alignments. To understand the mechanism of such high temperature NLC, we have performed dielectric spectroscopy in frequency range 100 Hz to 10 MHz. The different dielectric parameters, viz., effective dielectric permittivity and dielectric anisotropy of the sample have been determined with the variation of frequency and temperature. It is found that the dielectric parameters depend on dipole moment and rotation of side chain of molecule. The phase transition of this high temperature NLC has been confirmed by the DSC study.  相似文献

Two substituted quinazolinyl/imidazolyl-salicylic acids 5, 6 were synthesized by the reaction of 6-iodo-2-methylbenzoxazin-4-one/5-nitroimidazole with 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA). Coupling of compounds 5 and 6 with different amino acid ester hydrochlorides, dipeptide and tripeptide methyl esters yielded novel quinazolino/imidazolopeptide derivatives 5a-f and 6a-g. The chemical structures of all newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by means of FT-IR, (1)H- and (13)C-NMR, MSand elemental analysis. Selected peptide ester derivatives were further hydrolyzed by using lithium hydroxide (LiOH) to afford the corresponding acid derivatives 5ba-da and 6e(a)-g(a). All peptide derivatives were assayed for antimicrobial and anthelmintic activities against eight pathogenic microbes and three earthworm species. Among the tested compounds, 5e,5d, 6e and their hydrolyzed analogs 5d(a) and 6e(a) exhibited higher antimicrobial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Candida albicans, and 5(a),6g and 6g(a) displayed better antifungal activity against the dermatophytes Trichophyton mentagrophytes and Microsporum audouinii. Moreover, 6f and its hydrolyzed derivative6f(a) showed good anthelmintic activity against Megascoplex konkanensis, Pontoscotex corethruses and Eudrilus eugeniea at dose of 2 mg mL(-1).  相似文献
