The distance function \({\varrho(p, q) ({\rm or} d(p, q))}\) of a distance space (general metric space) is not differentiable in general. We investigate such distance spaces over \({\mathbb{R}^n}\), whose distance functions are differentiable like in case of Finsler spaces. These spaces have several good properties, yet they are not Finsler spaces (which are special distance spaces). They are situated between general metric spaces (distance spaces) and Finsler spaces. We will investigate such curves of differentiable distance spaces, which possess the same properties as geodesics do in Finsler spaces. So these curves can be considered as forerunners of Finsler geodesics. They are in greater plenitude than Finsler geodesics, but they become geodesics in a Finsler space. We show some properties of these curves, as well as some relations between differentiable distance spaces and Finsler spaces. We arrive to these curves and to our results by using distance spheres, and using no variational calculus. We often apply direct geometric considerations.  相似文献

To make it easier for designing Schmidt optical systems, based on wavefront aberration functions, a mathematical model of the corrector plate aspheric surfaces varies as a function of defocusing amount is established. It corrects not only the third-order spherical aberration, but also the 5th-order spherical aberration for the system. A series of Schmidt optical systems were designed as examples to evaluate the mathematical model of the aspherics. Results show that the mathematical model is precisely in fitting the needed shape of the corrector, and can be used for the systems for quick F ratio and large aperture. A mathematical model for reflective correctors shape is also established.  相似文献

We propose a hydrostatic pressure sensor based on a gold-coated thin-core fiber modal interferometer (TCFMI). A thin-core fiber is spliced to a single mode fiber forming a single-end fiber modal interferometer (FMI) due to the core mismatch and the fiber end reflection. Relative reflection spectra of TCFMIs based on thin-core fibers with different lengths are investigated. The TCFMI is gold-coated to enhance the optical reflectivity, which also results in the ripple of the relative reflection spectra of TCFMI. A high hydrostatic pressure sensor test system is proposed and the performance of the pressure sensor has been experimentally investigated. A pure-ripple-shift measurement method is used to achieve the demodulation of the sensor. The proposed pressure sensor has a sensing range up to 40 MPa and a sensitivity of 44.8 pm/MPa.  相似文献

The Lebesgue decomposition theorem and the Radon–Nikodym theorem are the cornerstones of the classical measure theory. These theorems were generalized in several settings and several ways. Hassi, Sebestyén, and de Snoo recently proved a Lebesgue type decomposition theorem for nonnegative sesquilinear forms defined on complex linear spaces. The main purpose of this paper is to formulate and prove also a Radon–Nikodym type result in this setting. As an application, we present a Lebesgue type decomposition theorem and solve a special case of the infimum problem for densely defined (not necessarily bounded) positive operators.  相似文献

In this note, we will prove that under certain conditions, the space of polynomial growth harmonic functions and harmonic forms with a fixed growth rate on manifolds which are asymptotically nonnegatively curved is finite dimensional. This is a partial generalization of the works of Li and Colding-Minicozzi. We will also give an explicit estimate for the dimension in case the manifold is a complete surface of finite total curvature. This is a generalization to harmonic forms of the work of Li and the author.

We study the elliptic equation on complete noncompact Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative. Three fundamental theorems for this equation are proved in this paper. Complete analyses of this equation on the Euclidean space and the hyperbolic space are carried out when is a constant. Its application to the problem of conformal deformation of nonpositive scalar curvature will be done in the second part of this paper.

Solution sets of systems of linear equations over fields are characterized as being affine subspaces. But what can we say about the “shape” of the set of all solutions of other systems of equations? We study solution sets over arbitrary algebraic structures, and we give a necessary condition for a set of n-tuples to be the set of solutions of a system of equations in n unknowns over a given algebra. In the case of Boolean equations we obtain a complete characterization, and we also characterize solution sets of systems of Boolean functional equations.  相似文献
