For a spatial characteristic, there exist commonly fat-tail frequency distributions of fragment-size and -mass of glass, areas enclosed by city roads, and pore size/volume in random packings. In order to give a new analytical approach for the distributions, we consider a simple model which constructs a fractal-like hierarchical network based on random divisions of rectangles. The stochastic process makes a Markov chain and corresponds to directional random walks with splitting into four particles. We derive a combinatorial analytical form and its continuous approximation for the distribution of rectangle areas, and numerically show a good fitting with the actual distribution in the averaging behavior of the divisions.  相似文献

The transient absorption properties of several commercially available TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated by femtosecond diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy. Using femtosecond diffuse-reflectance spectroscopy, the quantities and rates of the initial trapping processes of holes and electrons generated by the photoexcitation of TiO2 photocatalysts were investigated. It was found that the total amounts of trapped electrons for the pure-anatase and pure-rutile TiO2 became smaller with increasing particle size, but increased again when the particles’ diameters were larger than 50 nm. The anatase–rutile mixed TiO2 photocatalysts were found to have smaller amounts of trapped electrons compared with pure-anatase and pure-rutile TiO2 photocatalysts. The lifetimes of trapped holes of various TiO2 photocatalysts were also investigated, and it was found that the lifetimes were proportional to the anatase–rutile mixed ratios.  相似文献

Landau levels have been theoretically investigated in a two-dimensional electron gas near a quantum dot (QD) layer. By a diagrammatical method, we have formulated the self-energy for the Landau level and deduced its relation to the AC conductivity σloc(ω) in the QD layer. As an example, we have examined the density of states in the case where σloc(ω) is described by AωS(S=0.8). It is found that the Landau levels are broadened due to the interaction with the localized electrons in the QDs.  相似文献

We theoretically study the mechanical interaction between radiation and a semiconductor nanoparticle, based on a microscopic model of confined excitons. The exerted force is calculated by using the Maxwell stress tensor expressed in terms of the microscopic response field. The numerical demonstrations clarify the following: (1) The enhancement of the force by using electronic resonance is remarkable for a particle with a radius of less than 100 nm for semiconductor materials. (2) The spectral peak position of the exerted force is considerably sensitive to nanoscale-size changes which would be useful for highly accurate size-selective manipulation.  相似文献

During evaporation, shape changes of nanoliter-scale (80-100 nL) water droplets were evaluated on two superhydrophobic surfaces with different random roughness (nm-coating, μm-coating). The square of the contact radius and the square of the droplet height decreased linearly with evaporation time. However, trend changes were observed at around 170 s (nm-coating) and around 150 s (μm-coating) suggesting a wetting mode transition. The calculated droplet radii for the wetting mode transition from the average roughness distance and the average roughness height of these surface structures were approximately equal to the experimental values at these trend changes. A certain level of correlation between the roughness size and droplet radius at the wetting mode transition was confirmed on surfaces with random roughness.  相似文献

The role of o-bisguanidinobenzenes (BGBs) as new Brønsted base ligands for arsenic and phosphoric acids was examined. In solution state, complexation was evaluated by Job’s plot in 1H NMR experiment, indicating a 1:1 complex formation, whereas in solid state crystalline structures of complexes obtained were addressed by X-ray crystallographic analysis and/or solid state 13C NMR experiment, in which 1:2 complexes between the BGB and the acid components were normally formed. Based on these results, Merrifield and Hypogel® resin-anchored BGBs were designed and prepared as the corresponding polymer-supported host ligands. Evaluation of their coordination ability with metal salts (ZnCl2 and CoCl2) and arsenic acid in aqueous media by ICP-MS showed that the latter Hypogel® resin-anchored BGBs acted as effective immobilized base ligands.  相似文献

The inactivation effects of ultrasonic irradiation at 27.5 kHz and chlorination using sodium hypochlorite solution (NaOCl) on the growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast cells) were investigated. In order to evaluate the effect of ultrasound on the growth of the yeast cells, calorimetric analysis was carried out in addition to colony counting. The heat evolution produced by the growth of yeast cells detected by calorimetry showed completely different patterns between sonication and chlorination. In case of sonication, the yeast cells were inactivated almost like a bactericidal effect, i.e. a quantitative change in cell number, at the beginning of sonication. It was similar to patterns obtained on simple dilution of yeast cells. In contrast, longer sonication increased the bacteriostatic effect, i.e. qualitative damage of the cell growth activity, together with the bactericidal effect. These results suggest that the cavitation caused by ultrasonic irradiation initially disrupted the cells located near the cavitation bubble which caused immediate cell death and the growth activity of the surviving cells was gradually damaged by further sonication. On the other hand, only a bacteriostatic effect was observed when the yeast cells were inactivated by chlorination.  相似文献

The burning and sooting behaviors of isolated fuel droplets for ethanol and n-decane are examined in high concentration of the ambient carbon dioxide under microgravity. A quartz fiber with the diameter of 50 μm maintains the droplet in the center of the combustion chamber and the range in the initial droplet diameter is from 0.30 to 0.80 mm. The ambience consists of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. The concentration of oxygen is 21% in volume, and that of carbon dioxide is varied from 0% to 60% in volume. Detail measurements of the projected image of the droplet are conducted by using a high speed video camera and the effective droplet diameter squared are calculated from the surface area of the rotating body of the projected object. From evolutions of the droplet diameter squared, the instantaneous burning rates are calculated. Time history of the instantaneous burning rate clearly represents the droplet combustion events, such as the initial thermal expansion, ignition and following combustion. The instantaneous burning rate for n-decane shows an increasing trend during combustion, while that for non-sooting ethanol remains almost constant or shows a decreasing trend. A slight stepwise increase in the instantaneous burning rate is observed for larger n-decane droplets in air, which may be attributed to soot accumulation. However, this behavior of the burning rate disappears in higher concentration of carbon dioxide. Direct observation of the droplet flame indicates suppression of soot production in higher concentration of carbon dioxide and the suppression is enhanced for smaller droplet.  相似文献
