The change in fluidity by adding pentoxifylline to erythrocyte membranes was compared with that caused by S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) by the method of electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. When SAM or pentoxifylline was added externally to the erythrocyte suspension (outside), the fluidity of the membrane bilayer was increased after incubation at 37 degrees C. However, the fluidity change in the inner part of the bilayer was relatively small compared to that in its outer part. These fluidity changes were dependent on the incubation time and the temperature. When the erythrocyte suspension was preincubated overnight at 4 degrees C in the presence of drugs (inside), the fluidity of the inner part of the membrane changed significantly. Nevertheless, that of the outer part of the lipid bilayer was not affected. Such an asymmetric fluidity change in the lipid bilayer was not observed by the addition of other xanthine derivatives such as caffeine, theophylline and theobromine. S-Adenosyl-L-homocysteine suppressed and MgCl2 enhanced the increase of the membrane fluidity by SAM or pentoxifylline. Furthermore, the effects of SAM and pentoxifylline on erythrocyte deformability were determined by a filtering technique method. In increasing order the additive effects of SAM and pentoxifylline on the erythrocyte filterability were SAM (outside) less than pentoxifylline (inside) less than pentoxifylline (outside) less than SAM (inside). These results suggest that pentoxifylline also affects the membrane fluidity through the enzymatic methylation of phospholipids. 相似文献

Polymerization of vinyl monomers having large negative e values in the presence of phosphorus compounds containing halogens was studied in order to examine the cationic initiation ability of phosphorus compounds. N-Vinylcarbazole was effectively polymerized by phosphorus compounds such as PCI3, PBr3, PCI2C6H5, PCI(C6H5)2, POCI3, and POCI2C6H5 even in benzene. The initiation ability of phosphorus compounds decreased in the order; PCI2 ? PBr3 > PCI2C6H5 > PCI(C6H5)2, and also POCI3 > POCI265. On the other hand, PCI3 and PBr3, which were less effective than POCI3, showed initiation ability for the polymerizations of styrene and α-methylstyrene in nitrobenzene as a solvent. The results of the copolymerization of styrene with methyl methacrylate by PCI3 in nitrobenzene, the result of solvent dielectric constant effect, and the effect of additives such as water, tert-butyl chloride, triethylamine, and hydroquinone, indicate the polymerization of styrene by PCI3 to proceed by a cationic mechanism. 相似文献

Radioactive119Sb was implanted into six host matrices (CaSnO3, Pt, Y, Au,-Sn, Pb) and internal conversion electrons of the 23.87 keV transition in119Sn were measured with an iron-free magnetic spectrometer as well as Mössbauer spectra. In the analysis of the conversion spectra of outermost electrons, the overlapping K-LM Auger lines were subtracted using the Auger spectrum of tin measured with another source of117mSn, and the shake-off effect accompanying the conversion process was considered. From the correlation between the Mössbauer isomer shifts and the intensity ratios of O-shell to N1-shell conversion electrons, the change of the nuclear charge radius of the 23.87 keV transition of119Sn was deduced to be R/R=(0.87 ± 0.25) × 10–4 for a uniform charge distribution ofR= 1.2 ×A

An S-bridged RhIII2PtII2 tetranuclear complex having two nonbridging thiolato groups, [{Pt(NH3)2}2{Rh(aet)3}2]4+ ([1]4+), in which two fac(S)-[Rh(aet)3] units are linked by two trans-[Pt(NH3)2]2+ moieties, was synthesized by the 1:1 reaction of fac(S)-[Rh(aet)3] (aet = 2-aminoethanethiolate) with trans-[PtCl2(NH3)2] in water. Complex [1]4+ gave both the meso (DeltaLambda) and racemic (DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda) forms, which were separated by fractional crystallization. Of two possible geometries, syn and anti, which arise from the arrangement of two nonbridging thiolato groups, the meso and racemic forms of [1]4+ selectively afforded the anti and syn geometries, respectively. The DeltaLambda-anti and DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda-syn isomers of [1]4+ reacted with Ag+ using two nonbridging thiolato groups to produce a {RhIII2PtII2AgI}n) polymeric complex, {[Ag{Pt(NH3)2}2{Rh(aet)3}2]5+}n) ([2]5+), and a RhIII2PtII2AgI pentanuclear complex, [Ag{Pt2(mu-H2O)(NH3)2}{Rh(aet)3}2]5+ ([3]5+), respectively, which contain octahedral RhIII, square-planar PtII, and linear AgI centers. In [2]5+, each DeltaLambda-anti-[{Pt(NH3)2}2{Rh(aet)3}2]4+ tetranuclear unit is bound to two AgI atoms to form a one-dimensional zigzag chain, indicating the retention of the parental S-bridged structure in DeltaLambda-anti-[1]4+. In [3]5+, two Delta- or Lambda-fac(S)-[Rh(aet)3] units are linked by a [Pt2(mu-H2O)(NH3)2]4+ dinuclear moiety, together with an AgI atom, indicating that two NH3 molecules in [1]4+ have been replaced by a water molecule that bridges two PtII centers, while the parental DeltaDelta/LambdaLambda-syn configuration is retained. Novel vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) studies in the CH region of a series of methyl glycosidic carbohydrates were examined. The specific CH stretching VCD band predicts absolute stereochemistries of their anomeric positions. The C-1 chiral information was extracted to the methoxy substituent as a probe. A technique for the separation of thiosulfate (S(2)O(3) (2-)), polythionates (S(x)O(6) (2-), x = 3 to 5) and the gold(I) thiosulfate complex (Au(S(2)O(3))(2) (3-)) using capillary electrophoresis with simultaneous UV detection at 195 and 214 nm is presented. The five species were separated in under 3 min with a total analysis time of 8 min, using an electrolyte containing 25 mM 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)-2,2',2"-nitrilotriethanol (bis-tris) adjusted to pH 6.0 with sulfuric acid and an applied voltage of -30 kV. While the gold(I) thiosulfate complex could be separated from the other analytes of interest under these conditions, the quantification of this complex was not possible due to inconsistent peak areas and peak splitting effects induced by the sulfur-oxygen species in the leach matrix. Detection limits calculated for 3s pressure injection at 50 mbar ranged between 0.5-2 microM. The method was linear over the ranges 40-8000, 10-2000, 10-2000, and 5-2000 microM for thiosulfate, trithionate, tetrathionate, and pentathionate, respectively. The technique was applied successfully to leach liquors containing 0.5 M ammonium thiosulfate, 2 M ammonia, 0.05 M copper sulfate and 20% w/v gold ore, diluted 1:100 prior to analysis. 相似文献
