There is growing awareness that circadian clocks are closely related to the intracellular redox state across a range of species. As the redox state is determined by the exchange of the redox species, electrochemically controlled extracellular electron transfer (EC‐EET), a process in which intracellular electrons are exchanged with extracellular electrodes, is a promising approach for the external regulation of circadian clocks. Herein, we discuss whether the circadian clock can be regulated by EC‐EET using the cyanobacterium Synechococcus elongatus PCC7942 as a model system. In vivo monitoring of chlorophyll fluorescence revealed that the redox state of the plastoquionone pool could be controlled with EC‐EET by simply changing the electrode potential. As a result, the endogenous circadian clock of S. elongatus cells was successfully entrained through periodically modulated EC‐EET by emulating the natural light/dark cycle, even under constant illumination conditions. This is the first example of regulating the biological clock by electrochemistry.  相似文献

A novel AuICoIII coordination system that is derived from the newly prepared [Co(D ‐nmp)2] ( 1 ; D ‐nmp=N‐methyl‐D ‐penicillaminate) and a gold(I) precursor AuI is reported. Complex 1 acts as a sulfur‐donating metallaligand and reacts with the gold(I) precursor to give [Au2Co2(D ‐nmp)4] ( 2 ), which has an eight‐membered AuI2CoIII2 metallaring. Treatment of 2 with [Au2(dppe)2]2+ (dppe=1,2‐bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane) leads to the formation of [Au4Co2(dppe)2(D ‐nmp)4]2+ ( 3 2+), which consists of an 18‐membered AuI4CoIII2 metallaring that accommodates a tetrahedral anion (BF4, ClO4, ReO4). In solution, the metallaring structure of 3 2+ is readily interconvertible with the nine‐membered AuI2CoIII metallaring structure of [Au2Co(dppe)(D ‐nmp)2]+ ( 4 +); this process depends on external factors, such as solvent, concentration, and nature of the counteranion. These results reveal the lability of the Au S and Au P bonds, which is essential for metallaring expansion and contraction.  相似文献

The results of this study show that disilathiane is an effective mediator in the synthesis of alkyl aryl sulfides with disulfides and alkyl carboxylates. Mechanistic studies suggest that disilathiane promotes cleavage of the sulfur–sulfur bond of disulfides to generate thiosilane as a key intermediate. Diselenides were also applicable to this transformation to produce the corresponding selenides.  相似文献

Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) transplantation is a curative treatment of hematological disorders that has been utilized for several decades. Although umbilical cord blood (UCB) is a promising source of HSPCs, the low dose of HSPCs in these preparations limits their use, prompting need for ex vivo HSPC expansion. To establish a more efficient method to expand UCB HSPCs, we developed the bioactive peptide named SL-13R and cultured UCB HSPCs (CD34+ cells) with SL-13R in animal component-free medium containing a cytokine cocktail. Following 9 days of culture with SL-13R, the numbers of total cells, CD34+, CD38− cells, and hematopoietic stem cell (HSC)-enriched cells were significantly increased relative to control. Transplantation of cells cultured with SL-13R into immunodeficient NOD/Shi-scid/IL-2Rγ knockout mice confirmed that they possess long-term reconstitution and self-renewal ability. AHNAK, ANXA2, and PLEC all interact with SL-13R. Knockdown of these genes in UCB CD34+ cells resulted in reduced numbers of hematopoietic colonies relative to SL-13R-treated and non-knockdown controls. In summary, we have identified a novel bioactive peptide SL-13R promoting expansion of UCB CD34+ cells with long-term reconstitution and self-renewal ability, suggesting its clinical use in the future.  相似文献

The silaboration of [1.1.1]propellane enables direct introduction of B and Si functional groups onto the bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) scaffold in high yield under mild, additive‐free conditions. The silaborated BCP can be obtained on a gram‐scale in a single step without the need for column‐chromatographic purification, and is storable and easy to handle, providing a versatile synthetic intermediate for BCP derivatives. We also describe various conversions of the C?B/C?Si bonds on the BCP scaffold, including development of a modified Suzuki–Miyaura cross‐coupling reaction at the highly sterically hindered bridgehead sp3 carbon center of the BCP skeleton using a combination of highly activated BCP boronic esters, copper(I) oxide, and a PdCl2(dppf) catalyst system.  相似文献

We give a level-2 representation of the elliptic algebra in terms of one free boson and one free fermion. We show that -modules have a natural direct sum decomposition into the irreducible (deformed) super-Virasoro modules associated with the coset .
