We present the first systematic study of the influence of temperature on the degree of surface enrichment of 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium-based ionic liquids (ILs). Using angle-resolved X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, we demonstrate that the degree of surface enrichment strongly decreases with increasing temperature for all the studied ILs. For ILs with the same cation, but different anions, [C8C1Im]Br, [C8C1Im][TfO] and [C8C1Im][Tf2N], no significant differences of the temperature-induced partial loss of surface enrichment are found. Measurements for [C4C1Im][TfO], [C8C1Im][TfO] and [C18C1Im][TfO] indicate a small effect of the chain length. For [C18C1Im][TfO], a continuous decrease of alkyl surface enrichment is found with increasing temperature, with no abrupt changes at the phase-transition temperature from the smectic A to the isotropic phase, indicating that the surface enrichment is not affected by this phase transition. 相似文献

Abstract Reactions of thiazolo[3,2-b]-1,2,4-triazolium N-methylides with electron-deficient acetylenes gave the thiazole ring-opened products as a mixture of the E-and Z-isomers. In contrast, the N-phenacylides reacted with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate to give the thiobenzoates together with the thiazole ring-opened products. In this study, a fast and quantitative determination method for branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), namely leucine, isoleucine, and valine, was developed using a pillar array column. A pillar array column with low-dispersion turns was fabricated on a 20?×?20-mm2 microchip using multistep ultraviolet photolithography and deep reactive ion etching. The BCAAs were fluorescently labeled with 4-fluoro-7-nitro-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (NBD-F), followed by reversed-phase separation on the pillar array column. The NBD derivatives of the three BCAAs and an internal standard (6-aminocaproic acid) were separated in 100 s. The calibration curves for the NBD-BCAAs had good linearity in the range of 0.4–20 μM, using an internal standard. The intra- and interday precisions were found to be in the ranges of 1.42–3.80 and 2.74–6.97 %, respectively. The accuracies for the NBD-BCAA were from 90.2 to 99.1 %. The method was used for the analysis of sports drink and human plasma samples. The concentrations of BCAAs determined by the developed method showed good agreements with those determined using a conventional high-performance liquid chromatography system. As BCAAs are important biomarkers of some diseases, these results showed that the developed method could be a potential diagnostic tool in clinical research. 相似文献

Zerumbone 1, having powerful latent reactivity and containing two conjugated double bonds and a double conjugated carbonyl group is the major component of the essential oil of wild ginger, Zingiber zerumbet Smith. The conjugation system plays an important role in the expression of biological activity. N-Bromosuccinimide (NBS) reaction of 1 gave high reactive intermediate 2 with an exo-methylene group, which was obtained from 1 quantitatively. Treatment of 2 with nucleophiles gave various zerumbone-pendant derivatives, including C–H, C–O, C–N, and C–C bond formation, maintaining the conjugation system through SN2′-type reaction. Almost all zerumbone-pendant derivatives showed a good value of IC50 against the suppressive effect of NO generation. Among them, amine derivative 5, binding with 2 mol of zerumbone, showed the strongest activity (IC50: 0.24 μM). 相似文献

Nano‐sized TiO2 sol was prepared through a wet synthesis process. The synthesis procedure involved hydrolysis of TiCl4, acid treatment, and a SiO2 surface‐modifying process. Before surface modification, the TiO2 suspension was treated with acid to remove Na ions, soluble TiO2, and other impurities. The acid treatment of a TiO2 suspension at a higher temperature was proved to be useful for effective SiO2 modification. The colloidal sol provided high transparency in visible light as well as excellent UV‐shielding properties. Surface modification of TiO2 particles with SiO2 greatly improved both the dispersing stability in neutral pH and the photostability of TiO2 colloidal sol. 相似文献

Abstract The stability of a hydrogen-bonded complex built through inter-molecular hydrogen bonding between carboxylic acid and pyridine fragments has been examined using infrared spectroscopy. Infrared spectra as a function of temperature have been recorded for the 1:1 complex of 4-hexyloxybenzoic acid and trans-4-propoxy-4′-stilbazole from the crystalline state to the isotropic state. A dependence of the stability of the hydrogen bond on molecular orientation is observed clearly in the infrared spectra. The spectra also suggest that the hydrogen bond is an unionized type with a double minimum potential energy. 相似文献

Chiral helical polymers have been expected to exhibit optical activity with a significantly large optical rotation power. In this paper polymethylphenylethylcarbodiimides (Poly-PhEMCDI) with helical structure were synthesized by the insertion polymerization of a corresponding chiral monomeric carbodiimide initiated by a copper complex. The circular dichroism spectra and optical rotation power induced by the ordered rigid main chain helical structure of polycarbodiimides, in solution and as cast films, were studied. Polycarbodiimides have a rigid rod helical structure and form lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) in organic solvents such as dichloromethane (DCM), chloroform and THF. The LLC phase was studied using polarizing optical microscopy and X-ray diffraction. A chiral nematic phase was formed in DCM and chloroform in the concentration range 20–36%. Spherulites were formed in more concentrated solution. The formation of a LLC phase in polycarbodiimides organic solutions makes it possible to align the polymer helical chain to form an ordered film for electro-optical applications. 相似文献

Liquid crystal alignment layers of a high T g polymer containing an azobenzene moiety are prepared by photofabrication of a surface relief grating (SRG). The interference pattern of a circular and linearly polarized Ar+ laser beam generated the surface relief grating and the morphology was detected by atomic force microscope. The optical anisotropy of the films was investigated by polarizing optical microscopy. The orientation of the optical axis of the film mainly depends on the direction of the initial polarization plane. Nematic liquid crystals were aligned parallel to the direction of the grating, but the pretilt angles of the liquid crystals were nearly zero. Irradiation with homogeneous linearly polarized light could also align liquid crystals, but this alignment capability was weaker than that of the SRG film. 相似文献
