An alkylamide-substituted (−NHCOC10H21) hydrogen-bonded dibenzo[18]crown-6 derivative (1) was prepared to stabilise the ionic channel structure in a discotic hexagonal columnar (Colh) liquid crystal. The introduction of simple M+X salts such as Na+PF6 and K+I into the ionic channel of 1 enhanced the ionic conductivity of the Colh phase of the M+·(1)·X salts, with the highest ionic conductivity reaching ∼10−6 S cm−1 for K+·(1)·I and Na+·(1)·PF6 at 460 K, which was approximately 5 orders of magnitude higher than that of 1. The introduction of non-ferroelectric 1 into the ferroelectric N,N′,N′′-tri(tetradecyl)-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxamide (3BC) elicited a ferroelectric response from the mixed Colh phase of (3BC)x(1)1−x with x = 0.9 and 0.8. The further doping of M+X into the ferroelectric Colh phase of (3BC)0.9(1)0.1 enhanced the ferroelectric polarisation assisted by ion displacement in the half-filled ionic channel for the vacant dibenzo[18]crown-6 of (3BC)0.9[(M+)0.5·(1)·(X)0.5]0.1.

The viscoelastic properties and stabilities of those properties of organic hybrids consisting of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) and tetrakis[methylene‐3‐(3‐5‐di‐tert‐butyl‐4‐hydroxy phenyl)propionyloxy]methane (AO‐60) and triethylene glycol bis[3‐(3‐tert‐butyl‐4‐hydroxy‐5‐methyl phenyl)propionyloxy] (AO‐70) were investigated. The CPE/AO‐70 hybrids show only one transition, whereas for the CPE/AO‐60 hybrids, one novel relaxation appears above the glass‐transition temperature of CPE. This relaxation on the higher temperature side in the mechanical spectrum for CPE/AO‐60 is associated with the appearance of the AO‐60‐rich phase. Furthermore, the stabilities of the viscoelastic properties and microstructures of the organic hybrids consisting of CPE and multifunctional hindered phenols are dominated by the strength of the intermolecular interaction between CPE and phenols and the conformations of the middle skeletal parts of hindered phenols. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. A novel cholestane diglycoside, named candicanoside A ( 1 ), was isolated from the bulbs of Galtonia candicans by monitoring the cytotoxic activity on HL‐60 leukemia cells. Candicanoside A ( 1 ) is very unique in structure, having two epoxy functionalities in its rearranged cholestane skeleton, and showed differential cytotoxicity in the Japanese Foundation for Cancer Research 38 cell‐line assay.  相似文献

The effect of simple shear flow on the phase behavior and morphology was investigated for both polystyrene/poly(vinyl methyl ether) (PS/PVME) and poly(methyl methacrylate)/poly(styrene‐co‐acrylonitrile) (PMMA /SAN‐29.5) blends, which have LCST (lower critical solution temperature)‐type phase diagram. The measurements were carried out using a special shear apparatus of two parallel glass plates type. The PS/PVME blends showed shear‐induced demixing and shear‐induced mixing at low and high shear rate values, respectively. In addition, the rotation speed and the sample thickness were found to have a pronounced effect on the phase behavior under shear flow. On the‐other hand, PMMA/SAN blend showed only shear‐induced mixing and the magnitudes of the elevation of the cloud points were found to be composition and molecular weight dependent. The morphology of the PMMA/SAN=75/25 blend indicated that shear‐induced mixing occurred at a critical shear rate value, below which the two phases were highly oriented and elongated in the flow direction.  相似文献

A novel immobilization procedure for glycoproteins is based on the reacion of immobilized CMP-NeuAc (CMP-sialic acids) with sialyltransferase (see scheme). The transfer ability was tested under various conditions; a corresponding oligosaccharide or asialoglycoprotein acted as sialyl acceptor.
