Anordnung und Orientierung kationischer Tenside auf ebenen Silicatoberflächen

Zusammenfassung Die n-Alkylammoniumderivate der glimmerartigen Schichtsilicate können als Modellsubstanzen für die Anordnung kationischer Tenside an Festkörpergrenzflächen herangezogen werden. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit wird die Darstellung durch Kationenaustausch aus den natürlichen Schichtsilicaten beschrieben. Es wird ausführlich auf die Fehlerquellen hingewiesen, die reproduzierbare Messungen erschweren.

Summary The n-alkylammonium derivatives of mica-type layer silicates are suitable models for studies about the arrangement of cationic tensides at solid interfaces. Part I of the paper deals with the preparation of these compounds by a simple cation exchange reaction. Sources for errors in obtaining reproducible data are discussed in detail.

Low temperature absorption spectra of TcO 4 − and ReO 4 − in KClO4

The low temperature spectra of TcO ₄ ^– and ReO ₄ ^– both show two band systems with pronounced vibrational structures. The bands are identified as¹ A ₁¹ T ₂ transitions. No other bands are observed with certainty. It seems likely that the KClO₄ crystals contain KReO₄ crystallites. They are therefore not pure mixed crystals. It is concluded that the virtual orbital (2e) used in the construction of the low lying states resembles an atomic nd orbital more and more when going from n=3, Mn to n=5, Re.

Zusammenfassung Die Tieftemperaturspektren von TcO ₄ ^– und ReO ₄ ^– zeigen beide zwei Bandensysteme mit ausgeprägten Schwingungsstrukturen. Die Banden werden als ¹ A ₁¹ T ₂-Übergänge identifiziert. Keine anderen Banden werden mit Sicherheit beobachtet. Es scheint wahrscheinlich, daß die KClO₄-Kristalle KReO₄-Kristallite enthalten und deswegen keine reinen Mischkristalle sind. Es wird geschlossen, daß das virtuelle Orbital (2e), welches zur Konstruktion der tiefliegenden Zustände gebraucht wird, in der Reihe n=3, Mn bis n=5, Re immer weitgehender einem nd-Atomorbital ähnelt.

Extraction—spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of iron in waters with pyrogallol red and zephiramine

The simple removal of excess of co-extracted reagent in the solvent extraction of metal complex anions with a quaternary ammonium salt greatly improves the determination of iron(II) with pyrogallol red and zephiramine. The method with pyrogallol red is suitable for the determination of trace amounts of iron in natural waters. The apparent molar absorptivities of the iron(II) complex in chloroform are 7.5×10⁴ and 10.3×10⁴ 1 mol^-1 cm^-1 at 560 and 298 nm, respectively. A large excess of reagent can be added, and the ternary complex can be completely extracted over the pH range 8.5–10. Masking agents allow most interferences to be suppressed. The method is suitable for the analysis of potable, river and sea waters.     

Neue Näherungsgleichung zur einheitlichen Berechnung von Wärmeübertragern

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine für alle Stromführungen einheitliche Näherungsgleichung mit drei oder vier anpaßbaren Parametern zur Berechnung des Korrekturfaktors für die mittlere logarithmische Temperaturdifferenz angegeben. Die anpaßbaren Parameter wurden für etwa 50 verschiedene Stromführungen durch Ausgleichsrechnung bestimmt. Die Genauigkeit der Gleichung ist für die Berechnung im praktisch wichtigen Bereich mehr als ausreichend.

New approximate equation for uniform heat exchanger design

An approximate equation with three or four empirical parameters for the uniform calculation of the LMTD-correction factor of all heat exchanger configurations is proposed. The empirical parameters have been determined for about 50 different flow configurations using least squares estimation. The accuracy of the equation is more than sufficient for practical design purposes.

On two methods of determining the ellipses and ellipsoids of positioning accuracy of robot manipulators

Summary When analysing the problem of the positioning accuracy of robot manipulators it is important to know how far random deviations of the hand may be from the desired position if the joint positioning errors possess a normal distribution. Two methods of determining the ellipses and ellipsoids of probability concentration are compared. The first of them is based on the standard procedure of the probability calculus. The second approximate method consists in finding at first the polygon or polyhedron of the positioning accuracy, and then in finding the ellipse or ellipsoid with principal axes and second order moments coinciding with those of the polygon or polyhedron, respectively. Examples of application demonstrate that these two methods give very close results.

Zwei Methoden zur Bestimmung der Ellipsen und Ellipsoide der Positioniergenauigkeit von Handhabungsrobotern

Übersicht Bei der Untersuchung der Positioniergenauigkeit von Handhabungsrobotern ist es wichtig, die Größe zufälliger Abweichungen des Greifers von der erstrebten Position zu kennen, wenn die Lagefehler der Verbindungen eine Normalverteilung besitzen. Es werden zwei Methoden zur Bestimmung der Ellipsen bzw. Ellipsoide der Wahrscheinlichkeitsdichte verglichen. Die erste beruht auf dem Standardverfahren der Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung. Die zweite Näherungsmethode besteht darin, daß zunächst das Polygon bzw. Polyeder der Positioniergenauigkeit bestimmt wird und danach die Ellipse bzw. das Ellipsoid mit den Hauptachsen und Momenten zweiter Ordnung wie das Polygon oder Polyeder. Beispiele zeigen, daß beide Methoden zu sehr ähnlichen Ergebnissen führen.

     

Benzoyl(acetylacetonato)nickel(II) complexes containing tertiary phosphine ligands. Their synthesis,dynamic behavior in solution,and decarbonylation

Carbon monoxide is readily inserted into the phenyl—nickel bond of PhNi(acac)(PR₃)_n to give benzoylnickel complexes, PhCONi(acac)PR₃ (R = Ph, Et, cyclo-C₆H₁₁), which were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, as well as chemical reactions. The reactions of the benzoylnickel complexes with methyl iodide and alcohols give acetophenone and corresponding benzoates, respectively, accompanied by some decomposition reactions. The solid benzoylnickel complexes when heated at elevated temperatures are decarbonylated and biphenyl, benzophenone and carbon monoxide are liberated. The dynamic behavior of the acac ligand in acetone solution was studied and the activation parameters for the acac exchange reactions were obtained. The decarbonylation reaction of the benzoyl complex PhCONi(acac)PPh₃ in acetone was studied by NMR, and found to be first order in the benzoylnickel complex.
