The objective of this work was to study the effects of the following Ligands: Chelex-100, Dowex MAC-3 and Dowex 50WX-8 using Competing Ligand Exchange Method. This objective was achieved by investigating complex dissociation kinetics of trace metals: Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Mn(II) and Pb(II) of a well-characterized Laurentian Fulvic Acid (LFA) in model solutions and in a natural waters of Lake Heva (Québec, Canada). The effects of variation in the competing ligands (including their quantities) on the complex dissociation kinetics were quantitatively characterized by their first-order dissociation rate coefficients. The kinetic lability of the metal complexes varied with the metal-to-LFA ratio, as expected from the theory of metal complexes of the chemically and physically heterogeneous complexants, LFA. The general trend in the metal-binding by the above competing ligands was: Dowex 50WX-8 > Chelex-100 > Dowex MAC-3. However, no difference was found between the Dowex 50WX-8 and Chelex-100 for Cd(II), Zn(II), and Co(II). The results revealed the importance of the quantity of Chelex-100 as a competing ligand in the metal(II)-LFA complexation, on the dissociation kinetics of these complexes in model solutions. By developing Competing Ligand Exchange Method as an analytical technique, for studying the relative affinities of the above competing ligands for metals complexation in natural waters this work has made a substantial contribution to analytical chemistry.  相似文献

A single molecular heterobimetallic complex, [Co2Ti(μ3‐O)(TFA)6(THF)3] (1) [TFA = trifluoroacetate, THF = tetrahydrofuran], was synthesized, structurally and spectroscopically characterized and implemented as a single‐source precursor for the preparation of CoTiO3–CoO composite thin films by aerosol‐assisted chemical vapour deposition (AACVD). The precursor complex was prepared by interaction of Co(OAc)2.4H2O [OAc = (CH3COO?)] with Ti(iso‐propoxide)4 in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid in THF, and was analysed by melting point, CHN, FT‐IR, single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. The precursor complex thermally decomposed at 480 °C to give a residual mass corresponding to a CoTiO3–CoO composite material. Good‐quality crystalline CoTiO3–CoO composite thin films deposited at 500 °C by AACVD and characterized through powder X‐ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy/energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy show that the crystallites have a rose‐flower‐like morphology with an average petal size in the range of 2–6 µm. New Hofmann-type complexes and clathrates of the forms M(piperidine)2Ni(CN)4 and M(piperidine)2Ni(CN)4·1.5G (M=Cd, Co, Ni or Cu; G=benzene) were prepared in powder form and their infrared and Raman spectra are reported. The spectral features suggest that these compounds are similar in structure to the Hofmann-type clathrates except for the copper compounds. The complex and clathrate of Cu have different spectral features in comparison with its analogues due to the Jahn-Teller effect.  相似文献

A series of six organotin(IV) carboxylates [Me2SnL2] (1), [n-Bu2SnL2] (2), [n-Oct2SnL2] (3), [Me3SnL] (4), n-Bu3SnL (5) and [Ph3SnL] (6), where L = 3-(4-cyanophenyl) acrylic acid have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR and NMR (1H, 13C). The complex (4) was also analyzed by single crystal X-ray analysis which showed distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with polymeric bridging behavior. The complexes 16 were screened for antimicrobial activities and cytotoxicity. The results showed significant activity with few exceptions. The catalytic activity of complexes was assessed in transesterification reaction of Brassica campestris oil (triglycerides) to produce biodiesel (fatty acid methyl esters). The results showed that triorganotin(IV) complexes exhibited good catalytic activity than their di-analogues.  相似文献

A series of unsymmetrically substituted N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors ( 1a , 1b , 1c , 1d , 1e ) were synthesized from the reaction of N‐phenylbenzimidazole with various alkyl halides. These compounds were used to synthesize NHC–silver(I) complexes ( 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d , 2e ). The five new 1‐phenyl‐3‐alkylbenzimidazolium salts ( 1a , 1b , 1c , 1d , 1e ) and their NHC–silver complexes ( 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d , 2e ) were characterized by the 1H NMR, 13C NMR and FT‐IR spectroscopic methods and elemental analysis techniques. Also, the two NHC–silver complexes 2b and 2c were characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography, which confirmed the linear C―Ag―Cl arrangements. The antibacterial activities of the NHC precursor and NHC–silver complexes were tested against three Gram‐positive bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Listeria monocytogenes and Staphylococcus aureus) and three Gram‐negative bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) using the microdilution broth method. The NHC–silver complexes showed higher antibacterial activity than the NHC precursors. In addition, silver complexes 2a , 2b , 2c , 2d showed high antibacterial activity against the Gram‐positive bacteria L. monocytogenes and S. aureus compared to the standard, tetracycline. The nine new heteroaryl-substituted imidazolidinium (1ac), pyrimidinium (2ac) and diazepinium (3ac) salts as N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) precursors were synthesized in good yields and entirely characterized using elemental analyses and conventional spectroscopic methods. In situ formed complexes from heterocyclic salts (13), Pd(OAc)2 and in the presence of KOBu t as a base were tested as catalysts for the Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction in an aqueous media and very high yields were achieved. 1,3-Di(5-methylthiophen-2-ylmethyl)pyrimidinium hexafluorophosphate salt (2b) was structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In the 2b compound (C16H21N2S2)+[PF6]?, the terminal thiophene rings are twisted with a dihedral angle of 72.8(3)°. In the pyrimidine ring, the three successive C atoms between the N atoms are disordered over two positions [occupancy ratio 0.753(12):0.247(12)]. In the crystal, neighboring molecules are linked by C–H…F hydrogen bonds, running along the b axis.  相似文献

Two novel homobinuclear ytterbium(III) complexes, [Yb2(2AMB)6(H2O)4] · 2C2H6O (I) and Yb2(3AMB)6(H2O)4] · 3H2O (II) (2AMB = 2-aminobenzoic acid, 3AMB = 3-aminobenzoic acid) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray crystallography (CIF files CCDC nos. 950103 (I), 921652 (II)). Complex I crystallizes in triclinic space group \(P\bar 1\) and complex II crystallizes in monoclinic space group P21/n. X-ray analysis shows that both complexes (I, II) have the dinuclear structure. The central Yb3+ ions in both complexes are eight-coordinated adopting distorted YbO8 dodecahedral geometry. Each Yb3+ ion is coordinated to two O atoms from bridging carboxylate, four O atoms from the chelating carboxylate ligands and two O atoms of water molecules. The crystal structure of I and II are stabilized by N-H…O, O-H…O, O-H…N, and C-H…O hydrogen bonds, C-H…π interactions and weak π-π stacking interactions.  相似文献

New tandospirone analogues containing a 1-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]piperazine (TFMPP) moiety have been synthesized by hydroarylation reactions with Pd(OAc)2. The perhydroisoindole derivatives were obtained by the reaction of reduced starting material with aryl-(heteroaryl) iodides under the same conditions. Spiro-1,3-indandionolylpyrrolidine derivatives having an array of stereocenters are reported.  相似文献
