Development and construction of rotating polarizer analyzer ellipsometer

A detailed mathematical derivation and an experimental characterization of one to two ratio rotating polarizer analyzer ellipsometer (RPAE) are presented. The alignment, calibration, and testing of reference samples are also discussed. The optical properties of some known materials obtained by the proposed ellipsometer will be shown and compared to accepted values. Moreover, the constructed ellipsometer will be tested using two ellipsometry standards with different thicknesses.     

Atomic absorption spectrometric determination of ultra trace amounts of zinc after preconcentration with the ion pair of 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol and ammonium tetraphenylborate on microcrystalline naphthalene or by column method

Zinc is quantitatively retained on 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylamminophenol (5-BrPADAP)-ammonium tetraphenylborate with microcrystalline naphthalene or by a column method in the pH range 7.5-9.0 from a large volume of aqueous solutions of various samples. After filtration, the solid mass consisting of the zinc complex and naphthalene was dissolved with 5 ml of dimethylflarmamide and the metal was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry. Zinc complex can alternatively be quantitatively adsorbed on ammonium tetrphenylborate-naphthalene adsorbent packed in a column and determined similarly. The calibration curve is linear 0.05-4.0 ppb in dimethylformamide solution. Eight replicate detenninations of 1.0 ppb of zinc gave a mean absorbance of 0.124 with a relative standard deviation of 1.3%. The sensitivity for 1% absorption was 0.035 ppb. The interference of a large number of anions and cations has been studied and the optimized conditions developed were utilized for the trace determination of zinc in various standard samples.     

A Simple Synthesis of Stable 1,4-Diionic Pyridinium Betaines

 Protonation of the reactive intermediate produced in the reaction between pyridine and dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylates by strong CH-acids such as N,N′-dimethylbarbituric acid, Meldrum’s acid, or indane-1,3-dione leads to a vinylpyridinium cation which undergoes an addition reaction with the enolate anion of the CH-acid to produce stable 1,4-diionic pyridinium betaines in good yields.     

An Approximation of the Analytical Solution of the Linear and Nonlinear Integro-Differential Equations by Homotopy Perturbation Method

This paper aims to introduce an analytic technique, namely the Homotopy perturbation method (HPM) for the solution of integro-differential equations. From the computational viewpoint, the comparison shows that the homotopy perturbation method is efficient and easy to use.

Manganese is quantitatively retained on 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP)-ammonium tetraphenylborate with microcrystalline naphthalene or by a column method in the pH range 7.5-10.5 from large volumes of aqueous solutions of various samples. After filtration, each solid mass consisting of the manganese complex and naphthalene was dissolved with 5 ml of dimethylformamide and the metal was determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Manganese complex can alternatively be quantitatively adsorbed on ammonium tetraphenylborate-naphthalene adsorbent packed in a column and determined similarly. About 0.1 microgram of manganese can be concentrated in a column from 500 ml of aqueous sample, where its concentration is as low as 0.2 ppb. Eight replicate determinations of 1.0 ppm of manganese gave a mean absorbance of 0.224 with a relative standard deviation of 1.8%. The sensitivity for 1% absorption was 19 ppb. The interference of a large number of anions and cations has been studied and the optimized conditions developed were utilized for the trace determination of manganese in various standard samples.     

Diastereoselective Synthesis of Novel Benzofuran Derivatives by Euparin as a Natural Compound with DMAD in the Presence of Trialkyl Phosphite

An efficient, simple, and diastereoselective synthesis of novel benzofuran phosphonato ester derivatives has been achieved via a one‐pot three‐component reaction of euparin as a natural product, trialkyl phosphate, and dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate (DMAD) in diethyl ether without using any catalyst at room temperature. NMR spectroscopic data and X‐ray crystallography analysis are in agreement with the anti arrangement for the two vicinal protons in the structures, and only one diastereoisomer (2S,3R) or (2R,3S) was obtained for the products. The advantage of our research is that this is the first report for the diastereoselective synthesis of phosphonato ester derivatives from a green natural product. This one‐pot reaction occurs in high yields with easy work‐up under mild conditions. All pure products were obtained by recrystallization from ethanol, and there was no need for column chromatography.     

Al(H_2PO_4)_3 as an Efficient and Reusable Catalyst for One-pot Three-component Synthesis of α-Amino Phosphonates under Solvent-free Conditions

Synthesis of α‐amino phosphonates is described under solvent‐free conditions at 100°C from reaction between aldehydes and amines in the presence of trialkyl phosphites using Al(H₂PO₄)₃ as an efficient and reusable heterogeneous catalyst. The advantages of this procedure are short reaction time, flexibility and having high to excellent yields.     

An efficient synthesis of 2,2′-arylmethylene bis-(3-hydroxy-5,5-dimethyl-2-cyclohexene-1-one) and 1,8-dioxooctahydroxanthenes using ZnO and ZnO-acetyl chloride

<正>2,2'-Arylmethylene bis(3-hydroxy-5,5-dimethyl-2-cyclohexene-1-one) 4l-s produced from reaction between dimedone with various aldehydes in acetonitrile using ZnO as a catalyst;whereas in the presence of ZnO-acetyl chloride catalysts the reaction is limited to give only 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthenes 3a-k in very good yields.     

Synthesis of dialkyl 5-(aryl)-1-phenyl-1H-prazole-3,4-dicarboxylates via a one-pot and four-component reaction

A number of new dialkyl 5-(aryl)-1-phenyl-1H-prazole-3,4-dicarboxylate derivatives have been prepared regiospecifically in moderate to good yield from the cyclocondensation reaction of dialkyl (E)-2-(dialkoxyphosphoryl)-3-(aroyl)-2-butenedioate, derived from the reaction between trimethyl phosphite, an acetylenic ester, and an aroyl chloride, with phenylhydrazine. The reaction is four-component and is carried out under reflux conditions in dry toluene.
