Two new cytotoxic clerodane diterpenoids from Casearia membranacea

In addition to casearlucin A (3), two new clerodane diterpenes, caseamembrols A (1) and B (2) have been isolated from the leaves and twigs of Casearia membranacea by bioassay-guided fractionation. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of extensive 1D- and 2D-NMR spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1-3 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against human prostate (PC-3) cancer cells.     

Two new sesquiterpene lactones from Ixeris chinensis

Phytochemical investigation of Ixeris chinensis NAKAI (Asteraceae) has resulted in the isolation of a new guaianolide-type sesquiterpene lactone, ixerochinolide (1) as well as the related glucoside, ixerochinoside (2). In addition, the known guaianolides, 8beta-hydroxy-3-oxo-guaia-4(15),10(14),11(13)-trien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (8beta-hydroxydehydrozaluzanin), 8beta,15-dihydroxy-2-oxo-guaia-1(10),3,11(13)-trien-5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (lactucin), 3beta,8alpha,10alpha-trihydroxy-guaia-4(15),11(13)-dien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (10alpha-hydroxy-10,14-dihydro-desacylcynaropicrin) and 3beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy-8beta-(p-hydroxyphenylacetyloxy)-guaia-4(15),10(14),11(13)-trien-1alpha,5alpha,6beta,7alphaH-12,6-olide (8-epicrepioside) were identified. The structures were determined on the basis of spectral analyses, especially 1- and 2D NMR. Compound 1 exhibited significant cytotoxicity against human PC-3 tumor cells.     

The Stabilities of the o-Carboxyphenylhydrazo-Ethylacetoacetate OF Cu,Ni, Co,Zn, Mn and Cd Chelate Compounds in Different Solvents

The dissociation constants for o-carboxyphenylhydrazoethylacetoacetate (o-CPHEA) ligand, as well as the stability constants for the divalent metal complexes of Cu, (II), Ni (II), Co (II), Zn (II)and Cd (II) ions, have been calculated pH-meterically in different solvents. The dissociation constans pK₁=4.10 and pK₂=10.55 of the insoluble organic ligand are calculated in aqueous medium. The effect of solvents, the relation between stabilities and both electronegativities and ionization potential are studied.     

Synthesis of block cotelomers involving a perfluorinated chain and a hydrophilic chain. Part I. Use of fluorinated telogens with trichloromethyl end groups

The synthesis of compounds involving a perfluorinated chain and a trichloromethyl group at the end of the chain is carried out by esterifying an alcohol with trichloracetic acid or by adding CCl₄ to a perfluorinated alcohol acrylate. Cl₃C? CO₂? (CH₂)₂? C₆F₁₃ and Cl₃C? CH₂? CHCl? CO₂? (CH₂)₂? C₆F₁₃ are obtained, respectively. These telogens are both used to initiate a polyacrylamide chain, thus allowing the synthesis of new highly hydrosoluble surfactants. The transfer constant of ferric chloride to the polyacrylamide chain can be calculated by studying the kinetics of the telomerization reaction. We found C = 16 at 125°C. Telomers can be prepared in which the polymer chain contains between 10 to 1000 acrylamide units; the degree of polymerization can be precisely predicted according to the amounts of products allowed to react.     

A novel fixed point theorem for the k-Meir-Keeler function

Generalized Meir-Keeler functions are introduced that contain a class of weakly uniformly strict contraction maps. A theorem is proven that assures the existence of a fixed point for the closed k-Meir-Keeler functions and provides a con- structive method to find the points. An advantage of the method is that it is possible to show the existence of a fixed point for functions with domains that are neither complete nor closed.     

Synthesis and X-ray structure of cationic methallyl palladium complexes supported by unsymmetrical β-diimine ligands

Treatment of the unsymmetrical β-iminoamine ligands [PhCN(Ar)CHCNH(Ar)Me] with the zerovalent complex Pd(dba)₂ in the presence of the methallyloxyphosphonium salt, gives high yields of the cationic β-diimine complexes [PhCN(Ar)CH₂CN(Ar)(Me)Pd(η³-C₄H₇)]⁺[PF₆]⁻ (Ar = 2-Me-C₆H₄ (7); 2-MeO-C₆H₄ (8); 2,6-Me₂-C₆H₃ (9); 2,6-iPr₂-C₆H₃ (10)). All the new complexes have been characterised by NMR and IR spectroscopy. The structure of the cationic methallyl palladium complex (10) has been solved by X-ray crystallography.     

Design,synthesis, and antimicrobial activity of fused triheterocyclic nitrogen systems involving tetrazolo[1,5-<Emphasis Type="Italic">b</Emphasis>][1,2,4]triazines [1]

Dehydrogenative cyclization of the 6-substituted 7-arylidenehydrazinotetrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazines derived from 6-methyl and 6-phenyl derivatives of 7-hydrazinotetrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazines and aromatic aldehydes gave the corresponding 6-substituted 9-aryl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-d]tetrazolo-[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazines. The latter compounds were also obtained by an alternative route involving dehydrative cyclization of 6-methyl and 6-phenyl derivatives of 7-chlorotetrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazines with aromatic hydrazides through the isolable aroylhydrazino intermediates. Also, the triazolotetrazolotriazine rings were accomplished by one-pot cyclization of cyclic amidrazones with aromatic acid chlorides. The ditetrazolo[1,5-b:1′,5′-d][1,2,4]triazine systems were synthesized by cyclization of the former cyclic amidrazones with nitrous acid, or cyclic imidoyl chlorides with sodium azide. The bis-triazolotetrazolotriazine derivatives were synthesized by cyclization of two equivalents of each cyclic imidoyl chloride with acid dihydrazides through the isolable bis-hydrazide products. Sample-path analysis of processes with imbedded point processes

The purpose of this paper is to review, unify, and extend previous work on sample-path analysis of queues. Our main interest is in the asymptotic behavior of a discrete-state, continuous-time process with an imbedded point process. We present a sample-path analogue of the renewal-reward theorem, which we callY=X. We then applyY=X to derive several relations involving the transition rates and the asymptotic (long-run) state frequencies at an arbitrary point in time and at the points of the imbedded point process. Included are sample-path versions of the rate-conservation principle, the global-balance conditions, and the insensitivity of the asymptotic frequency distribution to the distribution of processing time in a LCFS-PR service facility.
