Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy utilizing synchrotron radiation has been used to study the band structure of the c(2×2) and (3×1) oxygen overlayers on Fe(110). The symmetries of the O-2p-derived states at the center of the surface Brillouin zone were identified using polarized light. At the pxpy- and pz-derived levels are at about 5.5 and 7.0 eV below the Fermi level, respectively, for both ordered overlayers. The p-states of the c(2×2)-O structure show very little dispersion (?0.1 eV) with . On the other hand, the c(3×1)-O overlayer exhibits considerable dispersion of ~1.6 eV. The essential features of the measured dispersion are reproduced well by the dispersion predicted in a qualitative way for an isolated c(3×1) oxygen monolayer. 相似文献

Summary: Polypyrrole conducting polymers have been investigated widely for various applications because of their thermal and environmental stability and good electrical conductivity. Using chemical oxidative polymerization for the synthesis of polypyrrole particles, the reaction rate is very fast. In this study, we designed two new reaction fields for the synthesis of spherical polypyrrole nanoparticles. In the first system, oxidative polymerization of monomer droplets infused in a water/oil (W/O) emulsion reaction field was investigated. The second system employed dispersed monomer in an aqueous solution with a low concentration of oxidant in which polymerization was augmented by ultrasonic irradiation. Irreversible photoinduced insulator-metal transition has been observed in a perovskite manganite doped with monovalent Na + , Pr 0.75 Na 0.25 MnO 3 . The increase of the conductance is estimated to be of the order of 10 4 -10 5 , considering the shallow penetration depth ( ¨ 0.1 µm) of illumination light. Analysis of the dc- and ac-susceptibility data shows that the system is in a cluster glass state below 45 K, which means that ferromagnetic metallic clusters exist in insulating matrix. The photo-excitation helps the clusters to dislodge from a local energy minimum and to seek more stable configuration. The observed large increase of the conductivity can be well explained by the percolative conduction. We argue that metastability is due to the large charge mismatch between the monovalent Na + ion and trivalent Pr 3+ ion or the deviation of the average Mn valency from 3.5+. 相似文献

Photoproduction of the neutral kaon on the deuteron has been investigated at the Research Center for Electron Photon Science, Tohoku University. We constructed the Neutral Kaon Spectrometer-2 for the detection of charged particles from the decay of the neutral kaon and the hyperon. We obtained a momentum distribution of K 0 with the inclusive measurement. It was consistent with the previous measurement. The total cross section of γ + d → K 0 + Λ + p was estimated from the measured integral cross section of γ + d → Λ + X. The total cross section with respect to the photon energy was compared with the theoretical calculations. It favored the Saclay-Lyon A model calculation with the ratio of the neutral to charged coupling constants of the axial-vector meson, K 1, as ~ ?1.5. The energy dependence and the magnitude of the total cross section were similar to the total cross section of γ + p → K + Λ. 相似文献
