Summary N-Trifluoroacetyl (TFA) dipeptide-o-carboranyl propyl esters of L-valyl-L-valine and L--amino-n-butyryl-L--amino-n-butyric acid have been prepared and the properties of these two new stationary phases for the gas-liquid chromatographic sepaation of amino acid enantiomers have been examined. It was found that the amino acid derivatives have shorter retention times, while maintaining good separation factors, on these carborane phases as compared to other dipeptide stationary phases. Both high and low boiling derivatives have been resolved on a 165 m×0.5 mm capillary column. The new phases have greater thermal stability and can be utilized over a wide temperature range.  相似文献

We recently reported a convergent strategy to access the polycyclic guanidinium alkaloid (+)-batzelladine B via an aldol addition–retro-aldol–aza-Michael addition cascade. Here we describe the application of this approach toward the total syntheses of (+)-batzelladine E, (?)-dehydrobatzelladine C, and (+)-batzelladine K. The identification of suitable methods to functionalize a common tropane core by electrophilic alkynylation and nucleophilic 1,2-addition were essential to generalizing this approach. We provide evidence for the intermediacy of an acylallene species in the cascade reaction.  相似文献

Currently, little information has been published on the application of ternary eluent compositions in supercritical fluid chromatography for separating peptides. This work investigates the benefits of adding acetonitrile to methanol as the modifier. Three cyclic antibiotic peptides (bacitracin, colistin, and daptomycin) ranging between 1000 and 2000 Da were chosen as model substances. The ternary mixture of carbon dioxide, methanol, and acetonitrile is optimized to increase the resolution of the peptide's fingerprint. In addition, varying compositions of methanol and acetonitrile were found to change the elution order of the analytes, which is a valuable tool during method development. An individual gradient method using two Torus 2-PIC columns (each 100 × 3.0 mm, 1.7 μm), carbon dioxide, and a modifier consisting of acetonitrile/methanol/water/methanesulfonic acid (60:40:2:0.1, v:v:v:v) was optimized for each of the peptides. Subsequently, a generic method development protocol applicable to polypeptides is proposed.  相似文献

Ground-state atomic correlation energies, and their kinetic energy and potential energy components, are shown to be well-represented by empirical formulas of the form CNrho(0)Z(-gamma), where C and gamma are constants that are largely invariant within various sets of atoms and positive ions, Z is the atomic number, N is the number of electrons, and rho(0) is the electron density at the nucleus. Results are given for neutral atoms, singly charged positive ions, and many isoelectronic series-315 atomic species in all.  相似文献

The electronic states of diazomethane in the region 3.00-8.00 eV have been characterized by ab initio calculations, and electronic transitions in the region 6.32-7.30 eV have been examined experimentally using a combination of 2 + 1 REMPI spectroscopy and photoelectron imaging in a molecular beam. In the examined region, three Rydberg states of 3p character contribute to the transitions, 2(1)A2(3p(y) <-- pi), 2(1)B1(3p(z) <-- pi), and 3(1)A1(3p(x) <-- pi). The former two states are of mostly pure Rydberg character and exhibit a resolved K structure, whereas the 3(1)A1(3p(x) <-- pi) state is mixed with the valence 2(1)A1(pi* <-- pi) state, which is unbound and is strongly predissociative. Analyses of photoelectron kinetic energy distributions indicate that the ground vibrational level of the 2(1)B1(3p(z)) state is mixed with the 2(1)A2(3p(y)) nu(9) level, which is of B1 vibronic symmetry. The other 2(1)A2(3p(y)) vibronic states exhibit pure Rydberg character, generating ions in single vibrational levels. The photoelectron spectra of the 3(1)A1(3p(x) <-- pi) state, on the other hand, give rise to many states of the ion as a result of strong mixing with the valence state, as evidenced also in the ab initio calculations. The equilibrium geometries of the electronic states of neutral diazomethane were calculated by CCSD(T), using the cc-pVTZ basis, and by B3LYP, using the 6-311G(2df,p) basis. Geometry and frequencies of the ground state of the cation were calculated by CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ, using the unrestricted (UHF) reference. Vertical excitation energies were calculated using EOM-CCSD/6-311(3+,+)G* at the B3LYP optimized geometry. The theoretical results show that the 2(1)A2(3p(y) <-- pi) and 2(1)B1(3p(z) <-- pi) states have geometries similar to the ion, which has C(2v) symmetry, with slight differences due to the interactions of the electron in the 3p orbital with the nuclei charge distributions. The geometry of the 3(1)A1(3p(x) <-- pi) state is quite different and has Cs symmetry. The experimental and theoretical results agree very well, both in regard to excitation energies and to vibrational modes of the ion.  相似文献

Biehl et al. (2021) present some interesting observations on an early formulation of the free energy principle. We use these observations to scaffold a discussion of the technical arguments that underwrite the free energy principle. A comprehensive analysis is presented for the acid-base double-exchange reaction as well as the associated acid-displacement and base-displacement "half-reactions" with the goal of elucidating the meaning of the hard/soft acid/base (HSAB) principle and the conditions for its validity. When electron-transfer effects are important and other effects are negligible, the HSAB principle is driven by the surpassing stability of the soft acid/soft base product. When electrostatic effects dominate the reactivity, the HSAB principle is driven by the surpassing stability of the hard acid/hard base product. Because electron-transfer effects favor soft/soft interactions, while electrostatic effects favor hard/hard interactions, acid-base exchange reactions may be used to determine whether a reagent's reactivity is dominated by electron-transfer or by electrostatic effects. Because electron-transfer and electrostatic considerations separately favor the HSAB principle whenever the electronic chemical potentials of the acids and bases involved in the reaction are similar, our analysis provides strong support for the HSAB principle. The electronic chemical potential measures the intrinsic strength of acids and bases.  相似文献
