The photoelectron spectrum of HCP and comments on the first photoelectron band of HCN

The photoelectron spectrum of HCP has been obtained, Ionization potentials are found at 10.79 ± 0.01 eV (X² Π) and 12.86 ± 0.01 eV (A ² Σ). By comparison with HCP, a new interpretation of the first photoelectron band of HCN has been proposed which involves a Renner-Teller interaction in the Σ⁺ vibronic states of the molecular ion.

Phosphorylation of Tetrahydric Phenols with Trivalent Phosphorus Compounds. Synthesis of Tetraphosphites

The reactions of 1,1'-spirobi(5,6-dihydroxy-3,3-dimethylindane) and 1,2,4,5-tetrahydroxybenzene with 2-chloro-1,2,3-dioxaphosphorinanes of various structure were used to obtain tetraphosphorylated systems. Investigation of the chemical properties of the products was initiated. Basing on 1,1'-spirobi(3,3-dimethylindane-5,6-diyl) tetra(2,2-dimethylpropanediyl phosphite), a Pt(II) chelate was synthesized.     

Determination of mitomycin C in plasma, serum and urine by high-performance liquid chromatography with ultra-violet and electrochemical detection

The performance of a number of normal phase and reversed-phase systems, with ultraviolet detection at 360 nm, has been investigated with respect to their applicability to pharmacokinetic studies of mitomycin C (MMC). The reversed-phase system developed was also combined with a polarographic detector in order to compare the sensitivity and selectivity of ultraviolet and electrochemical detection. A simple isolation procedure, based on the adsorption of MMC on a non-ionogenic resin, has been developed. The developed assay is applied to a pharmacokinetic study from which some examples are given.     

Preparation of α- and γ-(α-furyl)pyridines

Mixtures of isomeric alkyl-substituted (in the pyridine ring) - and -(-furyl)-pyridines were obtained in up to 40% yields by condensation of furfural and ammonia with several aliphatic ketones and aldehydes (at 370–380 °C with a cadmium calcium phosphate catalyst). The dependence of the yields and structures of the corresponding isomers on the structure of the starting carbonyl compound was examined.
