A model for combined mass and heat transfer during nonisothermal gas absorption in a two-phase gasliquid bubbly medium with a high gas content and/or large times of gas-liquid contact is suggested. Diffusion and thermal interactions between bubbles is taken into account in the approximation of a cellular model of a bubbly medium whereby a bubbly medium is viewed as a periodic structure consisting of identical spherical cells with periodic boundary conditions at a cell boundary. Distribution of concentration of dissolved gas, temperature distribution in liquid and coefficients of mass and heat transfer during nonisothermal absorption of a soluble pure gas from a bubble by liquid are determined. In the limiting case of absorption without heat release the derived formulas recover the expressions for isothermal absorption. 相似文献

The analysis of an axially compressed circular tube deforming in progressive axisymmetric folds carried out by Wierzbicki et al. [(1992) Int. J. Solids Structures 29, 3269–3288] assumes an eccentricity factor relating the inward and outward parts of the folds. This factor was arbitrary and was not derived from the analysis. The present work re-examines the problem and produces a value for the eccentricity factor which conforms with the experimental findings. Dynamic impact forces on a composite structure were recovered by using experimentally generated Green's functions and signal deconvolutions. The signal processing is straightforward. Extra windowing and filtering the recorded signals are unnecessary. The Green's functions account for boundary conditions, material properties and structure geometry. This approach can be applied to linearly elastic structures with different boundary conditions. The upward penetration of the mid-latitude baroclinic waves has been well known to influence the air motion in the stratosphere. To study this in the laboratory, we present a new type of rotating fluid annulus experiment where a radial temperature difference is imposed on water near the flat bottom to produce a baroclinic wave in a lower layer and the water surface is heated to create a stratified upper layer. To test this model, we carried out experiments to study baroclinic waves penetrating into the stratified layer by a quasi-geostrophic potential vorticity equation in the atmospheric dynamics. The baroclinic waves produced in the lower fluid layer were observed to penetrate into the stratified upper layer. As expected from the equation, the vorticities of the flows for wavenumbers 3, 4 and 5 decayed exponentially with height and showed a weaker decay for lower wavenumbers. 相似文献

Optical interference moiré methods are analyzed using Fraunhoffer diffraction theory to relate general large surface deformations to the fringes observed. This analysis determines the Almansl strain in the current configuration from the gradients of the fringe number function. The analysis shows the advantages of an experimental scheme that allows the virtual reference grating to be varied. The ability to vary the virtual reference grating results in a larger dynamic range and the ability to maintain a fringe spacing for maximum accuracy. A moiré microscope has been constructed which has this ability. Digital image processing coupled with optical filtering and phase control is used to enhance the accuracy of the fringe measurements. The variable virtual-reference-grating capability is demonstrated by using it to highlight several aspects of the deformation field near a crack tip in a single crystal of iron-silicon. 相似文献
