Researchers studying plant growth under different lamp types often attribute differences in growth to a blue light response. Lettuce plants were grown in six blue light treatments comprising five blue light fractions (0, 2, 6% from high-pressure sodium [HPS] lamps and 6, 12, 26% from metal halide [MH] lamps). Lettuce chlorophyll concentration, dry mass, leaf area and specific leaf area under the HPS and MH 6% blue were significantly different, suggesting wavelengths other than blue and red affected plant growth. Results were reproducible in two replicate studies at each of two photosynthetic photon fluxes, 200 and 500 mumol m-2 s-1. We graphed the data against absolute blue light, phytochrome photoequilibrium, phototropic blue, UV, red:far red, blue:red, blue: far red and 'yellow' light fraction. Only the 'yellow' wavelength range (580-600 nm) explained the differences between the two lamp types.  相似文献

The isolation of (2S,1'S,2'S)-2-(2'-carboxycyclopropyl)glycine (CCG I, 2) from Blighia sapida (Akee) was achieved through column chromatography on deactivated silica gel followed by ion-exchange chromatography. Abstract— Brief high temperature treatments, applied early in the pregerminative period to radiation-requiring seeds of lettuce, inhibited both dark and radiation-induced germination. The inhibition increased with increasing incubation temperature. There was little difference in the germination percentage whether the inductive irradiation was applied before or after the high temperature treatment. When the high temperature treatment preceded induction, there was an increase in the radiation dosage required for maximum germination. These findings are interpreted in terms of lability of physiologically active phytochrome to higher temperatures.  相似文献

In this paper we suggest to consider the spatial distribution of the Born-Oppenheimer nonadiabatic coupling terms as fields which are created by sources, located at degeneracy points, and which can be derived using the ordinary mathematical tools of field theory. It is shown that the curl-divergence equations as formed within a given Hilbert space [M. Baer, Chem. Phys. Lett. 35, 112 (1975)] can be converted into a set of inhomogeneous coupled Poisson equations which are solved for a given set of boundary conditions. The method is applied to the three-state Hilbert subspace of the H(3) system. The numerical results are compared with ab initio calculations for which a very encouraging fit is found.  相似文献

The known diterpenoid alkaloids karacoline, karakanine, songorine, napelline, 12-acetylnapelline, cammaconine, and a new 7,17-secoalkaloid of the lycoctonine type, secokaraconitine, were isolated from tubers of Aconitum karacolicum. The effect of the morphology of polymer films on the distribution of volatile C1–C4 carboxylic acids in the sorbent-gas system is discussed. The efficiency of sorption of vapors of formic, acetic, propionic, and butyric acids on films of polyethylene glycol esters of various structures formed on the electrodes of a piezoquartz resonator by means of static evaporation of a drop and immersion of the resonator into a sorbent solution is evaluated.  相似文献

Investigation of Methylphosphonium Chloride The n.m.r. spectra of [CH3PH3]Cl in aqueous hydrochloric acid as solvent and of [OP(CH3) (OCH2CH2Cl)OCH2? ]2 in C6D6 und CD2Cl2 are described. 31P n.m.r. resonances with a line width at half height of 55 Hz are found for the H2O? The reactions of the bidentate dinitrosoresorcinol (DNR) with copper, cobalt, nickel, iron and zinc salts were investigated. This ligand was found to react with these metal salts in aqueous media where hydrogen ion was confirmed to be liberated except in case of iron. The solid complexes were prepared in alcoholic media. Chemical analyses, magnetic and spectral data were compatible to determine the structure of these complexes and their mode of chelation.
