The electronic spectrum of the three-dimensional Penrose lattice with “central” decoration by atoms is investigated using the tight binding model with nearest-neighbor interaction. Inverse participation ratios, higher moments of density probabilities, and fractal dimensions of the system are determined. The WFs are critical (they have a power-law dependence on the distance) at all energies in the band and are multifractal measures leading to the entire spectrum of the exponents. The results show that the system is in the critical state of the metal-insulator transition. On critical WFs, the cubic root temperature dependence of the conductivity is obtained.  相似文献

Some interesting events of synchronized whistlers recorded at low latitude station Varanasi during magnetic storm period of the year 1977 are presented. The dynamic spectrum analysis shows that the component whistlers are Eckersley whistlers having dispersion 10 s1/2 and 30 s1/2. An attempt has been made to explain the dynamic spectra using lightning discharge generated from magnetospheric sources  相似文献

Superlattices have been demonstrated previously by our group in the design of the multicolor infrared photodetector. In general, the period number of the superlattice may be up to several dozens. In this paper, we have investigated the performance of the infrared photodetectors especially with 3, 5 and 15 periods. The detector structure contains a thick blocking barrier embedded between two superlattices with different period numbers but with the same well and barrier widths. This double-superlattice structure shows switchable spectral responses between two spectral regions by the voltage polarities. The photoresponse in each spectral region is also tunable by the magnitude of the applied voltage. The voltage-dependent behavior reveals the photoelectron relaxation and transport mechanism in the superlattice miniband. Superlattice with few periods has high electron group velocity, less relaxation effect and less collection efficiency. Therefore the superlattice with few periods may have better responsivity and narrower photoresponse range than the one with many periods. Based on the experimental results of our devices, it is observed that the superlattice with fewer periods has better detectivity, responsivity, wider range of the operational temperature, and more flexible miniband engineering than the conventional multiple quantum well infrared photodetector.  相似文献

The current-voltage characteristics of Ca4Ga2S7: Eu3+ single crystals are measured for the first time, and the processes affecting these characteristics are analyzed theoretically. It is demonstrated that Ca4Ga2S7: Eu3+ single crystals are high-resistance semiconductors with a resistivity of ~109 Ω cm and a relative permittivity of 10.55. The electrical properties of the studied materials are governed by traps with activation energies of 0.13 and 0.19 eV and a density ranging from 9.5×1014 to 2.7×1015 cm?3. The one-carrier injection is observed in weak electric fields. In electric fields with a strength of more than 4×103 V/cm, traps undergo thermal field ionization according to the Pool-Frenkel mechanism. At low temperatures and strong fields (160 K and 5×104 V/cm), the electric current is most likely due to hopping conduction by charge carriers over local levels in the band gap in the vicinity of the Fermi level.  相似文献

The dependence of the stability of a magnetic spiral domain in a film on the parameters of the film and its domain structure and on an external magnetic field is considered within a phenomenological model. The model allows one to explain a number of experimentally observed properties of dynamic spiral domains resulting from the process of self-organization of domains and domain walls in an iron-garnet film placed in an external ac magnetic field.  相似文献
