Compounds of the silsesquioxane type are attractive material precursors. High molecular weights and well-defined structures predestine them to create ceramics with a controlled composition at the molecular level. New molecular precursors of ceramic materials with the ratio of Si:Ge = 7:1 atoms were obtained. The influence of organic substituents on the thermal decomposition processes of germasilsesquioxanes was investigated. Some of the structures obtained are characterized by a high non-volatile residue after the thermal decomposition process. The introduction of the germanium atom to the structure of the silsesquioxane molecular cage reduces the thermal stability of the obtained structures. 相似文献

Upconversion (UC) is a process that describes the emission of shorter-wavelength light compared to that of the excitation source. Thus, UC is also referred to as anti-Stokes emission because the excitation wavelength is longer than the emission wavelength. UC materials are used in many fields, from electronics to medicine. The objective of using UC in medical research is to synthesize upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) composed of a lanthanide core with a coating of adsorbed dye that will generate fluorescence after excitation with near-infrared light to illuminate deep tissue. Emission occurs in the visible and UV range, and excitation mainly in the near-infrared spectrum. UC is observed for lanthanide ions due to the arrangement of their energy levels resulting from f-f electronic transitions. Organic compounds and transition metal ions are also able to form the UC process. Biocompatible UCNPs are designed to absorb infrared light and emit visible light in the UC process. Fluorescent dyes are adsorbed to UCNPs and employed in PDT to achieve deeper tissue effects upon irradiation with infrared light. Fluorescent UCNPs afford selectivity as they may be activated only by illumination of an area of diseased tissue, such as a tumor, with infrared light and are by themselves atoxic in the absence of infrared light. UCNP constructs can be monitored as to their location in the body and uptake by cancer cells, aiding in evaluation of exact doses required to treat the targeted cancer. Visible and near-infrared spectroscopy (VIS-NIRS) is a fast and simple method increasingly used in soil science. This study aimed to investigate VIS-NIRS applicability to predict soil black carbon (BC) content and the method’s suitability for rapid BC-level screening. Forty-three soil samples were collected in an agricultural area remaining under strong industrial impact. Soil texture, pH, total nitrogen (Ntot) and total carbon (Ctot), soil organic carbon (SOC), soil organic matter (SOM), and BC were analyzed. Samples were divided into three classes according to BC content (low, medium, and high BC content) and scanned in the 350–2500 nm range. A support vector machine (SVM) was used to develop prediction models of soil properties. Partial least-square with SVM (PLS-SVM) was used to classify samples for screening purposes. Prediction models of soil properties were at best satisfactory (Ntot: R2 = 0.76, RMSECV = 0.59 g kg−1, RPIQ = 0.65), due to large kurtosis and data skewness. The RMSECV were large (16.86 g kg−1 for SOC), presumably due to the limited number of samples available and the wide data spread. Given our results, the VIS-NIRS method seems efficient for classifying soil samples from an industrialized area according to BC content level (training accuracy of 77% and validation accuracy of 81%). 相似文献

Six types of nut-based bars with the addition of edible insect flour were obtained. Flours made from three different insects (Tenebrio molitor L., Acheta domesticus L., Alphitobius diaperinus P.) were used at two different additive levels (15% and 30%) in relation to the weight of the nuts. The addition of insect flour significantly increased protein content and the insoluble fraction of dietary fiber. The largest amount of these compounds was found in bars with 30% cricket flour, 15.51 g/100 g and 6.04 g/100 g, respectively, in comparison to standard bars, 10.78 g/100 g and 3.14 g/100 g, respectively. The greatest consumer acceptance was found in relation to bars with buffalo worm flour. The overall acceptance of these bars was 6.26–6.28 points compared to 6.48 for standard bars. Bars and raw materials were characterized by the high biological value of the protein. Cis linoleic acid dominated among unsaturated fatty acids. The percentage of this compound was in the range of 69.56%, for bars with a 30% addition of buffalo worm flour, to 73.88%, for bars with 15% cricket flour. Instrumental analysis of taste and smell compounds showed the presence of compounds such as 3-methylbutanoic acid, hexanal, and 2,3-pentanedione. 相似文献

Plant extracts have been widely used for skin care for many centuries, and nowadays, they are commonly applied for the development and enrichment of new cosmetic preparations. The present study aimed the assessment of the biological activity of aqueous Schisandra chinensis extracts as a potential ingredient of skin care products. The aspects studied involved the ability to neutralize free radicals, impact on viability and metabolism of keratinocytes, as well as tyrosinase inhibitory potential. Our study showed that aqueous S. chinensis extracts have a positive effect on keratinocyte growth and have high antioxidant potential and strong tyrosinase inhibitory activity. UPLC-MS analysis revealed that three groups of phenolic compounds were predominant in the analyzed extract, including lignans, phenolic acids and flavonoids and protocatechiuc and p-coumaryl quinic acids were predominant. Moreover, microwave-assisted extraction, followed by heat reflux extraction, was the most effective for extracting polyphenols. Furthermore, a prototypical natural body washes gel formulation containing the previously prepared extracts was developed. The irritation potential and viscosity were assessed for each of the formulations. The study demonstrated that the addition of these extracts to body wash gel formulations has a positive effect on their quality and may contribute to a decrease in skin irritation. In summary, S. chinensis aqueous extracts can be seen as an innovative ingredient useful in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry. 相似文献

The main goals of this research were the chemical and biological characterization of the bitter melon (Momordica charantia) isolate obtained by traditional (maceration) extraction, as well as optimization of this process using response surface methodology (RSM) and artificial neural networks (ANNs). Experiments were performed using Box–Behnken experimental design on three levels and three variables: extraction temperature (20?°C, 40?°C, and 60?°C), solvent concentration (30%, 50%, and 70%) and extraction time (30, 60, and 90?min). The measurements consisted of 15 randomized runs with 3 replicates in a central point. The antioxidant activity of obtained extracts was determined by the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays while chemical characterization was done in terms of the total phenolic content (TPC). The methodology shows positive influence of solvent concentration on all four observed outputs, while temperature showed a negative impact. RSM showed that the optimal extraction conditions were 20?°C, 70% methanol, and an extraction time of 52.2?min. Under these conditions, the TPCs were 20.66 milligrams of gallic acid equivalents (mg GAE/g extract), DPPH 30.22 milligrams of trolox equivalents (mg TE/g extract), CUPRAC 67.78 milligrams of trolox equivalents (mg TE/g extract), and FRAP 45.48 milligrams of trolox equivalents (mg TE/g extract). The neural network coupled with genetic algorithms (ANN-GA) was also used to optimize the conditions for each of the outputs separately. Protein unfolding events were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for bovine serum albumin (BSA) aqueous solutions
exposed to radio-frequency radiation. No immediate effect of this radiation on thermal unfolding of BSA was observed. The
differences between irradiated and control samples have appeared during the storage of BSA solution. The irradiated samples
changed faster than non-irradiated. Our results indicated that the age-related changes were stronger for 3.5 and 5 MHz than
for 247 MHz frequency and dependent on energy power of radiation. Deconvolution of DSC traces allowed to study the effect
of radio-frequency radiation on each component transition.

A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method with electrochemical detection for the quantitative determination of diclofenac potassium in plasma was developed. Naproxen was used as the internal standard. The drug and internal standard were isolated from plasma by extraction with dichloromethane and 2 M hydrochloric acid. Chromatographic separation was performed on a C18 column with methanol-water (68:32, v/v) adjusted to pH 3.2 with phosphoric acid as mobile phase. The oxidation potential for detection was established by constructing a voltammogram for diclofenac. The quantification limit for diclofenac in plasma was 5 ng mL(-1). Linearity of the method was confirmed in the range 5-2000 ng mL(-1), correlation coefficient 0.9998. Within-day relative standard deviations (RSDs) ranged from 0.66 to 14.00% and between-day RSDs from 0.59 to 15.78%. The method was successfully applied for the determination of pharmacokinetic parameters after ingestion of a 50 mg dose of diclofenac. Studies were performed on 18 healthy volunteers of both sexes. 相似文献

The crystal structure of a nitrilotriacetate (nta) oxidovanadium(IV) salt with 4‐methylpyridinium cation, [4‐Me(Py)H]+, of [4‐Me(Py)H][VO(nta)(H2O)] stoichiometry was determined. The complex comprises a discrete mononuclear [VO(nta)(H2O)]– coordination entity that can be rarely found among other known compounds containing nitrilotriacetate oxidovanadium(IV) moieties. The complex was characterized by spectroscopic (IR and EPR) methods, magnetic measurements, and thermogravimetry (TG‐FTIR). The stability of the title compound in aqueous solutions was investigated by using the potentiometric titration method. Furthermore, spectrophotometric (UV/Vis) studies have revealed that the compound is capable to scavenge the superoxide free radicals (O2 ? –) as well as stable organic radicals i.e. 2,2′‐azinobis(3‐ethylbenzothiazoline‐6 sulfonic acid) cation radical (ABTS+ ? ) and 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH ? ). Finally, biological properties of the complex studied were investigated in relation to its cytoprotective activity against the oxidative damage generated exogenously by using hydrogen peroxide in the HT22 hippocampal neuronal cell line (the MTT assay). Additionally, the biological action of the compound towards two human osteosarcoma HOS and MG‐63 cell lines (the MTT and BrdU tests) as well as the untransformed human osteoblast hFOB 1.19 cell line was tested. 相似文献
