Nanoscale ZnCdS/ZnSSe heterostructures for semiconductor lasers

We investigated cathode luminescence of ZnCdS/ZnSSe heterostructures and structures with quantum wells (QW) grown by vapor phase epitaxy from metalloorganic compounds depending on the excitation level, composition, and thickness of the ZnCdS layer. The observed dependences are explained by specific features of the energy band diagram of heterostructures with gaps in type II bands and composition nonuniformity over the ZnCdS layer thickness. A 478-nm laser with transverse optical pumping by N₂-laser was realized at T = 80 K on the ZnCdS/ZnS/ZnSSe structure with QW.

Synthesis of macrolide antibiotics. 13. synthesis of certain derivatives of the seco-acid of erythronolide B

Free-radical reactions of carbohydrate derivatives in the synthesis of carbocyclic compounds

The effect of substituent at C(4) of the pyranose ring in 3,4-disubstituted carbohydrate derivatives on the process of their intramolecular free-radical C(2)–C(6) cyclization was demonstrated. IR Fourier Spectroscopy in Vivo of Human Skin during Its Ablation on Exposure to YAG:Er Laser Radiation and Polarization of the Light Scattered by the Integument

We consider the possibility of monitoring the process of human skin ablation on exposure to pulsed IR laser radiation with the use of the polarization and IR Fourier spectroscopy of disturbed total internal reflection. The laws of the change in the content of water and proteins in the surface layers of skin as a result of cyclic laser effect have been discovered. The interrelation between the degree of polarization of the backward scattered probe radiation with the wavelength corresponding to the maxima of absorption of an oxygenated form of hemoglobin and the index of erythema occurring due to laser action has been established.
