A novel approach to locate, identify and refine positions and whole areas of cell structures based on elemental contents measured by X‐ray fluorescence microscopy is introduced. It is shown that, by initializing with only a handful of prototypical cell regions, this approach can obtain consistent identification of whole cells, even when cells are overlapping, without training by explicit annotation. It is robust both to different measurements on the same sample and to different initializations. This effort provides a versatile framework to identify targeted cellular structures from datasets too complex for manual analysis, like most X‐ray fluorescence microscopy data. Possible future extensions are also discussed.  相似文献

Summary In a previous paper we obtained upper and lower class type results refining the bounded LIL for sums of iid Hilbert space valued mean zero random variables, whose covariance operators satisfy certain regularity assumptions. We now establish precise convergence rates for the bounded LIL in the non-regular case. This Letter reports results from the MINOS experiment based on its initial exposure to neutrinos from the Fermilab NuMI beam. The rates and energy spectra of charged current nu(mu) interactions are compared in two detectors located along the beam axis at distances of 1 and 735 km. With 1.27 x 10(20) 120 GeV protons incident on the NuMI target, 215 events with energies below 30 GeV are observed at the Far Detector, compared to an expectation of 336+/-14 events. The data are consistent with nu(mu) disappearance via oscillations with |Delta(m)2/32|=2.74 +0.44/-0.26 x10(-3)eV(2) and sin(2)(2theta(23))>0.87 (68% C.L.).  相似文献

Recent calculations in one-loop and Gaussian approximation, using the so-called autonomous renormalization scheme, indicate a comparatively massive, narrow Higgs excitation at about 2 TeV. Here I show that this result persists in the framework of a post-Gaussian variational approximation for the pureO(N)-symmetric 4-theory forN>1. The method is based on nonlinear transformations of path-integral variables, and the optimization amounts to a Schwinger-Dyson-type summation of diagrams. In the case ofO(4), for example, I findM Higgs=2.3 TeV, compared with 1.9 TeV and 2.1 TeV in one-loop and Gaussian approximation, respectively. My results are also consistent with the Consoli-Stevenson conjecture that the Gaussian and one-loop results forN=1 are exact and may even hold for generalN.  相似文献

Femtosecond x-ray magnetic circular dichroism was used to study the time-dependent magnetic moment of 4f electrons in the ferromagnets Gd and Tb, which are known for their different spin-lattice coupling. We observe a two-step demagnetization with an ultrafast demagnetization time of 750 fs identical for both systems and slower times which differ sizeably with 40 ps for Gd and 8 ps for Tb. We conclude that spin-lattice coupling in the electronically excited state is enhanced up to 50 times compared to equilibrium.  相似文献

Diffractive optical beam splitters designed with iterative Fourier transform type algorithms can produce only certain diffraction angles given by the spatial frequencies used for the computations, which are multiples of a certain base spatial frequency. We have developed a design algorithm that overcomes this limitation and can be used to compute binary diffractive elements with arbitrary diffraction angles. The simulated and experimentally measured properties of optical elements producing beam arrays in circular arrangements are presented and discussed.  相似文献

We analyze the electronic properties of the interfaces between cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc), as well as fluorinated cobalt phthalocyanine (F16CoPc), and an Au(100) single-crystal using X-ray photoemission spectroscopy and valence band ultraviolet photoemission spectroscopy. Our data demonstrate that for the monolayers of both materials a charge transfer occurs from the substrate to the center of the organic molecules resulting in a central Co(I) ion. This leads to the conclusion that this effect essentially is fluorination- and ligand-independent.  相似文献

Assignment of proteins in MAS (magic angle spinning) solid-state NMR relies so far on correlations among heteronuclei. This strategy is based on well dispersed resonances in the 15N dimension. In many complex cases like membrane proteins or amyloid fibrils, an additional frequency dimension is desirable in order to spread the amide resonances. We show here that proton detected HNCO, HNCA, and HNCACB type experiments can successfully be implemented in the solid-state. Coherences are sufficiently long lived to allow pulse schemes of a duration greater than 70 ms before incrementation of the first indirect dimension. The achieved resolution is comparable to the resolution obtained in solution-state NMR experiments. We demonstrate the experiments using a triply labeled sample of the SH3 domain of chicken α-spectrin, which was re-crystallized in H2O/D2O using a ratio of 1/9. We employ paramagnetic relaxation enhancement (PRE) using EDTA chelated CuII to enable rapid data acquisition.  相似文献
