Can the SCA with relativistic Hartree-Fock wave functions describe the high energy ionisation probability

Recently experimental data of the L-shell ionisation probability of Au in the impact parameter region around the L-shell radius have been reported with α-particle energies in the range of 12–50 MeV. A very large discrepancy growing with increasing energy was found between the experimental and theoretical values. Refined calculations using the semiclassical approximation (SCA) with hyperbolic projectile trajectories and relativistic Hartree-Fock electron wave functions show, that this discrepancy can still be explained unsufficiently.

The lifetime of the 5s5p ³ P ₁ state of Sr has been determined with optical double resonance by observation ofrf-transitionsΔm _J =±1 between Zeeman levels of the even isotopes. The measurement yields the value τ(5³ P ₁, Sr)=2.1(3) · 10^?5 sec. A new type of narrowing of optical double resonance signals due to a time-of-flight effect of the radiating atom has been observed and compared with the theory.

Zusammenfassung 2,4,5-substituierte 4-Alkylamino-2H-imidazole entstehen mit guten Ausbeuten aus 2-Methyl-2,4-diaryl-imidazolin-³-thionen-(5) durch Umsetzung mit prim. bzw. sek. aliphatischen oder heterocyclischen Aminen in Benzol bei Rückflußtemperatur.

Linienform von Doppelresonanzsignalen bei zeitlich aufgelöster Beobachtung der zerfallenden Atomzustände

The influence on the line width and the line profile of optical double resonance signals due to a selective detection of quanta of resonance light emitted in a defined time interval after the moment of excitation has been studied. A narrowing of radio frequency signals in the5s 5p ³P₁ state of Cd by a factor of 1.4 has been observed. The resonance curves deviate considerably from the lorentzian line shape. Comparison has been made between the measured line profile and a theory developed for this experiment.
