In this research, we have used vibrational spectroscopy to study the phosphate mineral kosnarite KZr2(PO4)3. Interest in this mineral rests with the ability of zirconium phosphates (ZP) to lock in radioactive elements. ZP have the capacity to concentrate and immobilize the actinide fraction of radioactive phases in homogeneous zirconium phosphate phases. The Raman spectrum of kosnarite is characterized by a very intense band at 1,026?cm?1 assigned to the symmetric stretching vibration of the PO4 3? ??1 symmetric stretching vibration. The series of bands at 561, 595 and 638?cm?1 are assigned to the ??4 out-of-plane bending modes of the PO4 3? units. The intense band at 437?cm?1 with other bands of lower wavenumber at 387, 405 and 421?cm?1 is assigned to the ??2 in-plane bending modes of the PO4 3? units. The number of bands in the antisymmetric stretching region supports the concept that the symmetry of the phosphate anion in the kosnarite structure is preserved. The width of the infrared spectral profile and its complexity in contrast to the well-resolved Raman spectrum show that the pegmatitic phosphates are better studied with Raman spectroscopy.  相似文献

Properties of target species can be estimated by various means including interpolations in periodic charts. Interpolation is equivalent to numerical solution of the Laplace equation. A test of this equivalence, within some confidence level, for any N-atomic molecule surrounded by 4N nearest neighbors: the sum of the second differences of the data in all directions must be zero. Since very few molecules have 4N neighbors with known data, the test becomes: the sum of the averages of the second differences must be zero. The validity of these tests is explored. For radii of main-group atoms, and for internuclear separations of their diatomic combinations, the averages are different from zero and the sums of the averages are zero to within one if second-nearest neighbors are used. Dissociation potentials pass the tests but with larger scatter. Predictions for dissociation potentials, using iterative interpolation within boundaries on which there are known data, are reviewed.  相似文献

We report here an efficient implementation of the finite difference Poisson-Boltzmann solvent model based on the Modified Incomplete Cholsky Conjugate Gradient algorithm, which gives rather impressive performance for both static and dynamic systems. This is achieved by implementing the algorithm with Eisenstat's two optimizations, utilizing the electrostatic update in simulations, and applying prudent approximations, including: relaxing the convergence criterion, not updating Poisson-Boltzmann-related forces every step, and using electrostatic focusing. It is also possible to markedly accelerate the supporting routines that are used to set up the calculations and to obtain energies and forces. The resulting finite difference Poisson-Boltzmann method delivers efficiency comparable to the distance-dependent dielectric model for a system tested, HIV Protease, making it a strong candidate for solution-phase molecular dynamics simulations. Further, the finite difference method includes all intrasolute electrostatic interactions, whereas the distance dependent dielectric calculations use a 15-A cutoff. The speed of our numerical finite difference method is comparable to that of the pair-wise Generalized Born approximation to the Poisson-Boltzmann method.  相似文献

Amphipathic polymers ("amphipols") were introduced several years ago (Tribet, C.; Audebert, R.; Popot, J.-L. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 1996, 93, 15047-15050) as an alternative method for solubilizing integral membrane proteins in stable, nativelike conformations. However, direct maintenance of full membrane protein functionality in amphipol solutions has not previously been demonstrated in the absence of added lipid or detergent. In this contribution, the first zwitterionic amphipol "PMAL-B-100" is introduced. PMAL-B-100 not only maintains membrane protein structure and solubility, but also supports the full catalytic activity of an integral membrane enzyme, diacylglycerol kinase, in the complete absence of additional lipid or detergent. All of the roles which a lipid bilayer normally plays in maintaining diacylglycerol kinase's structure and in facilitating catalysis are satisfied by the environment and interactions supplied by PMAL-B-100.  相似文献

We report here (13)C(alpha) chemical shielding parameters for central Gly residues in tripeptides adopting alpha-helix, beta-strand, polyglycine II, and fully extended 2 degrees structures. To assess experimental uncertainties in the shielding parameters and the effects of (14)N-(13)C(alpha) or (15)N-(13)C(alpha) dipolar coupling, stationary and magic angle spinning (MAS) spectra with and without (15)N decoupling were obtained from natural abundance and double-labeled samples containing [2-(13)C, (15)N]Gly. We find that accurate (<1 ppm uncertainty) shielding parameters are measured with good sensitivity and resolution in (15)N decoupled 1D or 2D MAS spectra of double-labeled samples. Compared to variations of isotropic shifts with peptide angles, those of (13)C(alpha) shielding anisotropy and asymmetry are greater. Trends relating shielding parameters to the 2 degrees structure are apparent, and the correlation of the experimental values with unscaled ab initio shielding calculations has an rms error of 3 ppm. Using the experimental data and the ab initio shielding values, the empirical trends relating the 2 degrees structure to shielding are extended to the larger range of torsion angles found in proteins.  相似文献

A model for pseudoboehmite crystallite packing formed during the hydrolysis of trisecbutoxyaluminium is postulated. The model describes platelike crystallites of pseudoboehmite stacked in a sharing edges only configuration. With this type of stacking, the pore sizes detected are approximately equal to the crystallite sizes of the hydrolysates. The hydrolysates age via a dissolution re-precipitation reaction. This increases the size of the crystallite size of the pseudoboehmite formed, speeding peptization by allowing nitrate ions to enter pores and access the surfaces of the crystallites. This type of model also allows an explanation for the peptization kinetics of systems containing sec-butanol formed during the hydrolysis of trisecbutoxyaluminium.  相似文献

Controlled rate thermal analysis (CRTA) allows the separation of adsorbed and intercalated hydrazine. CRTA displays the presence of three different types of hydrogen-bonded hydrazine in the intercalation complex: (a) The first is adsorbed loosely bonded on the kaolinite structure fully expanded by hydrazine-hydrate and liberated between approx 50 and 70 degrees C (b) The second intercalated hydrazine is lost between approx 70 and 85 degrees C. (c) The third type of intercalated-hydrazine molecule is lost in the 85-130 degrees C range. CRTA at 70 degrees C enables the removal of hydrazine-water and results in the partial collapse of the hydrazine-intercalated kaolinite structure to form a hydrazine-intercalated kaolinite. Removal of the adsorbed hydrazine enables the DRIFT spectra of the hydrazine-intercalated complex without any adsorbed hydrazine to be obtained. A band at 3626 cm(-1) attributed to the inner surface hydroxyls of kaolinite hydrogen bonded to hydrazine is observed. The intercalation of hydrazine-hydrate into kaolinite is complex and results from the different types of surface interactions of the hydrazine with the kaolinite surfaces.  相似文献

Solution 1H NMR is used to probe the environments of the donor protons of eight strong hydrogen bonds on the distal side of the heme substrate in the cyanide-inhibited, substrate-bound complex of human heme oxygenase, hHO. It is demonstrated that significant magnetization transfer from the bulk water signal to the eight labile protons does not result from chemical exchange, but from direct nuclear Overhauser effect due to the dipolar interaction of these labile protons with "ordered" water molecules. The enzyme labile proton to water proton distances are estimated at approximately 3 A. It is proposed that the role of the strong hydrogen-bonding network is to immobilize numerous water molecules which both stabilize the activated hydroperoxy species and funnel protons to the active site.  相似文献

The uncatalyzed reaction of N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-2-tert-butyldimethylsilyloxypyrrole 3 with 1,4-quinones bearing an electron withdrawing group at C-2 has been studied. Use of 1,4-quinones 4, 5 bearing an ester group at C-2 provided an efficient synthesis of the respective pyrrolidinobenzofuran adduct 9 or pyrrolidinonaphthofuran adduct 10 whereas use of 1,4-quinones 6, 7 and 8 bearing an acetyl group at C-2 afforded silyloxypyrroles 11, 12 and 13 resulting from direct electrophilic substitution of the silyloxypyrrole by the electrophilic quinone. Addition of Eu(fod)3 to the reaction of 2-acetyl-1,4-naphthoquinone 7 and 3-acetyl-5-methoxy-1,4-naphthoquinone 8 with N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-2-tert-butyldimethylsilyloxypyrrole 3 provided a method for obtaining the pyrrolidinonaphthofuran adducts 14 and 15 together with silyloxypyrroles 12 and 13. Oxidative rearrangement of pyrrolidinonaphthofuran adduct 15 to pyrrolidino pyranonaphthoquinone 16 using ceric ammonium nitrate in acetonitrile provided a novel approach for the synthesis of an aza-analogue of the pyranonaphthoquinone antibiotic kalafungin.  相似文献

The first organocatalytic enantioselective direct vinylogous Michael reaction of α,β-unsaturated γ-butyrolactam to nitroolefins is developed using cinchona alkaloids as the catalysts. Both product enantiomers are accessible with moderate to good enantioselectivity.  相似文献
