Instrumental neutron activation analysis was used for the analysis of 25 trace elements in airborne particulate matter (PM) for air pollution monitoring. For the collection of air samples, the Gent stacked filter unit low volume sampler and two types of Nuclepore polycarbonate filters were employed. Samples were collected at selected sampling dates in suburban and industrial regions of Daejon city in the Republic of Korea. Mass concentrations and black carbon of PM were measured, and enrichment factors were calculated. The results were used to describe the emission sources and their correlation patterns. 相似文献

Orbital interaction analysis is employed to understand the complex charge transfer mechanism operative in endohedral metallofullerenes of composition NSc3@Cn (n = 68, 78). This phenomenon combines substantial electron transfer from the core to the cage with electron backdonation, involving the interaction between the occupied orbitals of the negatively charged cage and the unoccupied d orbitals of the positively charged core. This electron backdonation differs fundamentally from conventional orbital hybridization, which takes place primarily between the HOMO of the metal core and the LUMO of the fullerene cage. These findings imply the pronounced stability of NSc3@Cn (n = 68, 78), especially for NSc3 encapsulated in the non-IPR C68 enclosure, as experimentally established. 相似文献

The thermodynamic parameters for the interaction of Cu2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Cd2+, andAg+ with the new title ligand have been determined by titration calorimetry in 50% THF–methanol (V/V) at 25 °C.Ag+ exhibited remarkably higher complexation selectivity.Ag+ and several transition metal ions have been transportedusing this ligand as carrier in a bulk liquid membrane. CompetitiveAg+–M2+ transport studies have also beencarried out for the same system. Since hollow-fiber flow field-flow fractionation (HF FIFFF) utilizes a cylindrical channel made of a hollow-fiber membrane, which is inexpensive and simple in channel assembly and thus disposable, interests are increasing as a potential separation device in cells, proteins, and macromolecules. In this study, performance of HF FIFFF of proteins is described by examining the influence of flow rate conditions and length of fiber (polyacrylonitrile or PAN in this work) on sample recovery as well as experimental plate heights. The interfiber reproducibility in terms of separation time and recovery was also studied. Experiments showed that sample recovery was consistent regardless of the length of fiber when the effective field strength (equivalent to the mean flow velocity at the fiber wall) and the channel void time were adjusted to be equivalent for channels of various fiber lengths. This supported that the majority of sample loss in HF FIFFF separation of apoferritin and their aggregates may occur before the migration process. It is finally demonstrated that HF FIFFF can be applied for characterizing the reduction in Stokes' size of low density lipoproteins from blood plasma samples obtained from patients having coronary artery disease and from healthy donors. 相似文献

Flow field-flow fractionation (flow FFF), a separation technique for particles and macromolecules, has been used to separate carbon nanotubes (CNT). The carbon nanotube ropes that were purified from a raw carbon nanotube mixture by acidic reflux followed by cross-flow filtration using a hollow fiber module were cut into shorter lengths by sonication under a concentrated acid mixture. The cut carbon nanotubes were separated by using a modified flow FFF channel system, frit inlet asymmetrical flow FFF (FI AFIFFF) channel, which was useful in the continuous flow operation during injection and separation. Carbon nanotubes, before and after the cutting process, were clearly distinguished by their retention profiles. The narrow volume fractions of CNT collected during flow FFF runs were confirmed by field emission scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. Experimentally, it was found that retention of carbon nanotubes in flow FFF was dependent on the use of surfactant for CNT dispersion and for the carrier solution in flow FFF. In this work, the use of flow FFF for the size differentiation of carbon nanotubes in the process of preparation or purification was demonstrated. 相似文献

The mole transport rate of alkaline earth metal ions through a bulk liquid membrane and a supported liquid membrane using a series of proton diionizable acyclic polyethers was measured. Among alkaline earth metal ions, the calcium ion was observed to be selectively transported in both single and competitive transport experiments. Potentiometric titration and solution calorimetric titration also gave calcium selectivity over other alkaline earth metal ions. Acyclic polyether bearing a diethylene glycol unit andn-tetradecyl lipophilic chain at the α position of carboxylic acid affords the best selectivity for the calcium ion in bulk and supported liquid membranes. 相似文献

The association behavior of the dyes 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA)-modified 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein (F-NTA) in a poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) film and in a PVA film containing metal nanoparticles is investigated. Well-dispersed gold nanoparticles (AuNps) and Ni(II)-adsorbed AuNps are formed in the PVA film using in situ photochemical fabrication method. 5(6)-carboxyfluorescein and F-NTA are doped into the films. The F-NTA forms an H-aggregate in the PVA film containing Ni(II)-adsorbed AuNps. It is suggested that the interaction between NTA and Ni(II) adsorbed on the AuNps promotes the formation of the H-aggregate. 相似文献

Key aspects of the microenvironment surrounding the Fe center in the nitrosyl adduct of iron phthalocyanine, [Fe(Pc)(NO)], have been elucidated from the analysis of the Fe K-edge extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) of the material adsorbed on the surface of a high area carbon electrode recorded in situ, in 0.5 M H(2)SO(4). Statistical best fits to the EXAFS data place the Fe center in a five-coordinated square pyramidal configuration shifted away from the Pc plane toward the axially bound NO bent at an angle of ca. 40 degrees with respect to the normal to the Pc plane. This environment is analogous to that of Fe in the nitrosyl adduct of crystalline [Fe(TPP)], where TPP = meso-tetraphenylporphyrinato(2-), determined from X-ray diffraction. 相似文献

Catalytic combustion of chlorobenzene over supported vanadium oxides has been investigated. TiO2 was prepared by the sol-gel method from titanium isopropoxide. The supported vanadium oxide catalysts have been prepared
by precipitation-deposition and impregnation method and characterized by XRD, FT-Raman and TPR. In the VOx/TiO2catalysts prepared using the impregnation method, when vanadium loading reaches 3 wt.%, the activity shows a maximum. However,
in the VOx/TiO2catalysts prepared by precipitation-deposition, when vanadium loading reaches 7 wt.%, the activity shows a maximum. This result
suggests that the precipitation-deposition can yield a higher metal loading on the support and a high dispersion compared
to the impregnation method.
