We present generic Bell inequalities for multipartite arbitrary dimensional systems. The inequalities that any local realistic theory must obey are violated by quantum mechanics for even dimensional systems. A large set of variants are shown to naturally emerge from the generic Bell inequalities. We discuss particular variants of Bell inequalities that are violated for all the systems including odd dimensional systems.  相似文献

Using near-field scanning optical microscopy and ultrafast laser spectroscopy, we study the linear optical properties of subwavelength nanoslit and nanohole arrays in metal films, which are prototype structures for novel plasmonic metamaterials. Near-field microscopy provides direct evidence for surface plasmon polariton (SPP) excitation and allows for spatial imaging of the corresponding SPP modes. By employing spectral interferometry with ultrashort 11-fs light pulses, we directly reconstruct the temporal structure of the electric field of these pulses as they are transmitted through the metallic nanostructures. The analysis of these data allows for a quantitative extraction of the plasmonic band structure and the radiative damping of the corresponding SPP modes. Clear evidence for plasmonic band gap formation is given. Our results reveal that the coherent coupling between different SPP modes can result in a pronounced suppression of radiative SPP damping, increasing the SPP lifetime from 30 fs to more than 200 fs. These findings are relevant for optimizing and manipulating the optical properties of novel nano-plasmonic devices. PACS 42.70.Qs; 07.79.Fc; 42.25.-p  相似文献

In this work, the usefulness of the inverse Laplace transformation (ILT) in the characterization of diffusion processes in the brain has been investigated. The method has been implemented on both phantom and in vivo cat brain data acquired at high resolution at 9.4 T. The results were compared with monoexponential and biexponential analyses of the same data. It is shown that in the case of diffusion restricted by white matter axonal tracts, the resulting diffusograms are in good agreement with the biexponential model. In gray matter, however, the non-monoexponential decay does not lead to a bimodal distribution in the ILT, even though the data can be fitted to a biexponential. This finding suggests the possibility of a distribution of diffusion coefficients rather than a discrete biexponential behavior. It is shown that this distribution is sensitive, for example, to experimental parameters such as the diffusion time. Thus, the ILT offers the possibility of implementing a unique tool for the analysis of heterogeneous diffusion, that is, the analysis of the diffusion coefficient distribution, which has the yet unexplored potential of being a valuable parameter in the characterization of tissue structure.  相似文献

Ultrafast laser ablation of ITO thin film coated on the glass has been investigated as a function of laser fluence as well as the number of laser pulses. The ablation threshold of ITO thin film was found to be 0.07 J/cm2 that is much lower than that of glass substrate (about 1.2–1.6 J/cm2), which leads to a selective ablation of ITO film without damage on glass substrate. The changes in the electrical resistance and morphology of ablated trench of ITO electrode were found to be strongly dependent on the processing conditions. We present the performance of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) fabricated with ITO electrode patterned by ultrafast laser ablation.  相似文献

Structured illumination microscopy (SIM) is a wide-field technique that rivals confocal microscopy in optical sectioning ability at a small fraction of the acquisition time. For standard detectors such as a CCD camera, SIM requires a minimum of three sequential frame captures, limiting its usefulness to static objects. By using a color grid and camera, we surpass this limit and achieve optical sectioning with just a single image acquisition. The extended method is now applicable to moving objects and improves the speed of three-dimensional imaging of static objects by at least a factor of three.  相似文献

The accuracy of measuring voxel intensity changes between stimulus and rest images in fMRI echo-planar imaging (EPI) data is severely degraded in the presence of head motion. In addition, EPI is sensitive to susceptibility-induced geometric distortions. Head motion causes image shifts and associated field map changes that induce different geometric distortion at different time points. Conventionally, geometric distortion is "corrected" with a static field map independently of image registration. That approach ignores all field map changes induced by head motion. This work evaluates the improved motion correction capability of mapping slice to volume with concurrent iterative field corrected reconstruction using updated field maps derived from an initial static field map that has been spatially transformed and resampled. It accounts for motion-induced field map changes for translational and in-plane rotation motion. The results from simulated EPI time series data, in which motion, image intensity and activation ground truths are available, show improved accuracy in image registration, field corrected image reconstruction and activation detection.  相似文献

Auditory functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) requires quantification of sound stimuli in the magnetic environment and adequate isolation of background noise. We report the development of two novel sound measurement systems that accurately measure the sound intensity inside the ear, which can simultaneously provide the similar or greater amount of scanner- noise protection than ear-muffs. First, we placed a 2.6 x 2.6-mm microphone in an insert phone that was connected to a headphone [microphone-integrated, foam-tipped insert-phone with a headphone (MIHP)]. This attenuated scanner noise by 37.8+/-4.6 dB, a level better than the reference amount obtained using earmuffs. The nonmetallic optical microphone was integrated with a headphone [optical microphone in a headphone (OMHP)] and it effectively detected the change of sound intensity caused by variable compression on the cushions of the headphone. Wearing the OMHP reduced the noise by 28.5+/-5.9 dB and did not affect echoplanar magnetic resonance images. We also performed an auditory fMRI study using the MIHP system and presented increase in the auditory cortical activation following 10-dB increment in the intensity of sound stimulation. These two newly developed sound measurement systems successfully achieved the accurate quantification of sound stimuli with maintaining the similar level of noise protection of wearing earmuffs in the auditory fMRI experiment.  相似文献

High-quality ZnO film growth on sapphire was achieved by pulsed laser deposition using a high temperature deposited ZnO buffer layer. This high temperature deposited buffer layer remarkably improves crystallinity of subsequent films. In particular, the full width at half-maximum of X-ray diffraction ω-rocking curves for ZnO films grown with the buffer layer is 0.0076° (27.36 arcsec) and 0.1242° (447.12 arcsec) for the out-of-plane (002) and in-plane (102) reflections, respectively. In addition, ZnO films grown with this buffer layer showed a carrier mobility of 88 cm2/V s, which is three times higher than that realized for ZnO films grown without the buffer layer. The room temperature photoluminescence spectra showed strong band edge emission with little or no defect-related visible emission. PACS 78.55.Et; 81.05.Dz  相似文献

Sound transmission into a vehicle is classified as either airborne or structure borne sound. From the point view of noise control, the reduction of noise transferred by different paths requires different solutions. Coherence function analysis is often used to identify transmission paths. However it can be difficult to separate the airborne from structure borne components. The principle of acoustic reciprocity offers a convenient method for overcoming this difficulty. The principal states that the transfer function between an acoustic volume velocity source and an acoustic receiver is independent of a reversal of the position of source and receiver. The work done on this study involves exciting a stationary tyre and measuring the surface velocity of the tyre at a number of discrete points. The acoustic transfer functions between each point on the tyre and a receiver point are measured reciprocally. Two sets of measurements are then combined to yield a measure of the sound pressure due to a point force on the tyre via the acoustic transmission path only. This technique also provides information on the relative contributions of various regions of the tyre wall to the resultant noise. Also the sound radiation characteristics, the horn effect, and resonance at the wheel housing are identified through the reciprocal measurement.  相似文献
