Globally, many developing countries are facing silent epidemics of nutritional deficiencies in human beings and animals. The lack of diversity in diet, i.e., cereal-based crops deficient in mineral nutrients is an additional threat to nutritional quality. The present review accounts for the significance of biofortification as a process to enhance the productivity of crops and also an agricultural solution to address the issues of nutritional security. In this endeavor, different innovative and specific biofortification approaches have been discussed for nutrient enrichment of field crops including cereals, pulses, oilseeds and fodder crops. The agronomic approach increases the micronutrient density in crops with soil and foliar application of fertilizers including amendments. The biofortification through conventional breeding approach includes the selection of efficient genotypes, practicing crossing of plants with desirable nutritional traits without sacrificing agricultural and economic productivity. However, the transgenic/biotechnological approach involves the synthesis of transgenes for micronutrient re-translocation between tissues to enhance their bioavailability. Soil microorganisms enhance nutrient content in the rhizosphere through diverse mechanisms such as synthesis, mobilization, transformations and siderophore production which accumulate more minerals in plants. Different sources of micronutrients viz. mineral solutions, chelates and nanoparticles play a pivotal role in the process of biofortification as it regulates the absorption rates and mechanisms in plants. Apart from the quality parameters, biofortification also improved the crop yield to alleviate hidden hunger thus proving to be a sustainable and cost-effective approach. Thus, this review article conveys a message for researchers about the adequate potential of biofortification to increase crop productivity and nourish the crop with additional nutrient content to provide food security and nutritional quality to humans and livestock. 相似文献

The total M shell and the Mk (k = ξ, αβ, γ, m) X‐ray production cross sections for 66Dy have been measured at incident photon energies across its Lj (j = 1–3) subshell absorption edge energies, ranging 7.8–9.2 keV. This study aims to investigate the evolution of the probability for cascade decay of Lj subshell vacancies as the tunable incident energy ionizes progressively different 66Dy Lj subshells. The experimental X‐ray production cross sections have been compared with theoretical ones calculated using the nonrelativistic Hartree–Fock–Slater (HFS) model‐based photoionization cross sections; three sets of the X‐ray emission rates, fluorescence and Coster–Kronig yield based on the nonrelativistic Hartree–Slater (NRHS) model, Dirac–Hartree–Slater (DHS) model and Dirac–Fock (DF) model; the Lj (j = 1–3) subshell to the Mi (i = 1–5) subshell vacancy transfer probabilities evaluated in the present work. Presently measured total M shell and the Mαβ X‐ray production cross sections are found to be significantly lower than the theoretical ones evaluated using physical parameters based on the relativistic Dirac–Fock/Dirac–Hartree–Slater model calculations, whereas a much better agreement is observed with respect to the NRHS model‐based calculations; however, the measured X‐ray production cross sections are still systematically lower than the NRHS values. 相似文献

Herein, we present a new class of singlet fission (SF) materials based on diradicaloids of carbene scaffolds, namely cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes (CAACs). Our modular approach allows the tuning of two key SF criteria: the steric factor and the diradical character. In turn, we modified the energy landscapes of excited states in a systematic manner to accommodate the needs for SF. The well-characterized, monodisperse nature of reverse micelles formed by sodium bis-(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate/water/isooctane and their usefulness in assimilating compounds of varied interests have been exploited to investigate the effect of acetyl modified amino acids (MAA) viz., N-acetyl-L-glycine (NAG), N-acetyl-L-aspartic acid (NAA) and N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC), on the water pool and physiochemical properties. Non-invasive techniques such as FTIR and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy have been employed to analyze the interactions of MAA with core water and the AOT headgroup. The micropolarities on both sides of AOT interface have further been investigated by UV-vis absorption probes, methyl orange (MO) and methylene blue (MB). The dynamics of water and temperature induced percolation process have also been studied. The MAA molecules have been found to assist the process with the increase in water content where as a contrary behavior has been observed with the increase in temperature. Conductivity results have been further rationalized in terms of scaling equations, which delineate the dynamic nature of the percolation process. The results have also been analyzed in the light of activation energy of the percolation process and thermodynamics of droplet clustering. 相似文献

A new multicomponent domino reaction for rapid and regioselective synthesis of highly functionalized benzo[h]pyrazolo[3,4-b]quinolines has been established. The reaction can be conducted by using readily available and inexpensive substrates under microwave irradiation within short periods of 10-26 min. Good to excellent chemical yields (61-91%) and complete regioselectivity have been achieved for 22 examples. Tedious work-up procedure can be avoided due to the direct precipitation of products from the reaction solution. The resulting benzoquinolines have been readily converted into quinoxaline-fused benzo[h]isoxazolo[5,4-b]quinoline analogues by treating with benzene-1,2-diamine under microwave irradiation. The structural assignment has been ambiguously confirmed by X-ray analysis. A new mechanism has been proposed for this new multicomponent domino process. 相似文献

The poor pharmacokinetics, side effects and particularly the rapid emergence of drug resistance compromise the efficiency of clinically used anticancer drugs. Therefore, the discovery of novel and effective drugs is still an extremely primary mission. Naphthalimide family is one of the highly active anticancer drug based upon effective intercalator with DNA. In this article, we review the discovery and development of 1,8‐naphthalimide moiety, and, especially, pay much attention to the structural modifications and structure activity relationships. The review demonstrates how modulation of the moiety affecting naphthalimide compound for DNA binding that is achieved to afford a profile of antitumor activity. The DNA binding of imide and ring substitution at naphthalimide, bisnaphthalimide, naphthalimide‐metal complexes is achieved by molecular recognition through intercalation mode. Thus, this synthetic/natural small molecule can act as a drug when activation or inhibition of DNA function, is required to cure or control the cancer disease. The present study is a review of the advances in 1,8‐naphthalimide‐related research, with a focus on how such derivatives are intercalated into DNA for their anticancer activities. 相似文献

We report on the synthesis of zero valent iron nano particles (nZVI) via chemical reduction method. The large peak visible in the XRD pattern reveals the presence of an amorphous phase of iron. SEM and TEM images signify the dendritic morphology and core-shell-like structure of manufactured nZVI particles respectively. Methylene blue dye (MB) was used as model contaminant to assess the reductive degradation proficiency of nZVI. With complete elimination of MB, the fresh synthesized nZVI exhibited the best performance (97%), while the regenerated nZVI had an 85.1% MB removal efficiency after five regenerations. The equilibrium data of adsorption were fitted to eight different kinetic and isothermal models. The effects of critical operating factors such as pH, varied amounts of nZVI and dye concentration, adsorption temperature, and adsorption time were also studied. A presumptive reaction mechanism and function of core-shell construction in contaminant sequestration has also been investigated. 相似文献
