Double oxygen migration to sulphur from the ortho-nitro group leading to eliminations of SO2 and ·SO2H from the molecular ions and single oxygen transfer to the olefinic double bond in the side-chain giving rise to the most abundant ion at m/z 138 have been observed in 2-nitrophenyl styryl sulphides on electron impact. The temperature dependence of intensities of the prominent diffraction peaks in the specular (00) and one non-specular () beam from the (100) surface of Cu3Au have been measured in the range of 300 to 673 K. The effective Debye temperature associated with the specular beam appears to increase continuously with energy below 50 eV but varies discontinuously at high energies. For the () beam, which was available only in the higher energy range of 65 to 136 eV, the effective Debye temperature varies discontinuously with energy. Parallel and normal components of the Debye temperature were deduced from the two sets of data from which it appears that the two mean square displacements are approximately equal, compared to the harmonic approximation which indicates a difference of 30 percent. The log of peak intensity versus temperature (Debye plot) deviates from the straight line at 60° below the disordering temperature for all beams and all energies. 相似文献

With a view to assessing the role of chemical substitutions in the modification of radiation effects on cotton fibers, the induction and post-irradiation behavior of free radicals in γ-irradiated pure, mercerized, benzoylated, and allylated cottons have been investigated by ESR spectroscopy. While mercerization and allylation were found to influence both the nature and yield of radicals, benzoylation reduced only the yield. Measurement of concentration of radon and thoron daughter products in various indoor environment covering four seasons of a year in Udagamandalam Taluk of Nilgiris biosphere has been carried out using a high volume air sampler to asses the inhalation dose to the population which delivers higher dose than the radon and thoron gas alone. The potential alpha-energy concentrations of the radon and thoron progeny ranged from 0.97 to 12.72 mWL and from 1.63 to 15.83 mWL with a geometric mean of 6.02 and 7.89 mWL, respectively, taking all seasons into account. These measurements have yielded a wealth of data on the variation among the indoor radon and thoron progeny in various places during different seasons. The radon and thoron progeny levels are higher in winter seasons and are less in summer season with autumn and spring data lie in between winter and summer. Using the dose conversion factor for indoor exposures given in UNSCEAR 93 report the internal equivalent dose to the inhalation of radon progeny is evaluated to be 1357 mSv.y–1 and the corresponding annual effective dose equivalent value has been found to be 2.13 mSv.y–1. It can be observed that the mean value of radon is higher than the Indian average. Also it is found the radon and thoron progeny levels are higher in the case of houses built with rock and granite and in tiled type houses of nearly 100 years old. The levels are less in the case of houses built with brick and cement. The observed results for different types of houses and seasons are discussed in this paper. 相似文献
