In this paper, we consider the stochastic mathematical programs with linear complementarity constraints, which include two kinds of models called here-and-now and lower-level wait-and-see problems. We present a combined smoothing implicit programming and penalty method for the problems with a finite sample space. Then, we suggest a quasi-Monte Carlo approximation method for solving a problem with continuous random variables. A comprehensive convergence theory is included as well. We consider the generalized Nash equilibrium problem (GNEP), in which each player’s strategy set may depend on the rivals’
strategies through shared constraints. A practical approach to solving this problem that has received increasing attention
lately entails solving a related variational inequality (VI). From the viewpoint of game theory, it is important to find as
many GNEs as possible, if not all of them. We propose two types of parametrized VIs related to the GNEP, one price-directed
and the other resource-directed. We show that these parametrized VIs inherit the monotonicity properties of the original VI
and, under mild constraint qualifications, their solutions yield all GNEs. We propose strategies to sample in the parameter
spaces and show, through numerical experiments on benchmark examples, that the GNEs found by the parametrized VI approaches

The effects of carrier transport on turn-on delay time in multiple quantum well lasers were investigated both theoretically and experimentally. By using rate equation analysis with two components of the carrier density inside and outside of the quantum wells, we found that carrier transport caused two important effects: one is the stationary effect of a significant reduction in carrier density in quantum wells; the other is an increase in differential carrier lifetime.As an experimental investigation, compressively strained 1.3 m GalnAsP/InP multiple quantum well (MQW) lasers were fabricated and their turn-on delay times were measured and investigated. The short-cavity buried-heterostructure lasers showed low-threshold current (2 to 3 mA) and small turn-on delay time (<200 ps) at biasless 30 mA pulse current. Although these performances are suitable for high-speed digital transmission, it was found that the carrier lifetimes derived from the turn-on delay measurement were larger for strained quantum well lasers than for conventional quantum well lasers and double heterostructure lasers. These phenomena are explained using the carrier transport model and are discussed. The solutions for further reduction in carrier lifetime and turn-on delay are discussed. 相似文献

We report a measurement of the D0-D macro(0) mixing parameter y(CP) using 23.4 fb(-1) of data collected near the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. y(CP) is measured from the lifetime difference of D0 mesons decaying into the K(-)pi(+) state and the CP-even eigenstate K(-)K(+). We find y(CP) = (-0.5+/-1.0(+0.7)(-0.8))x10(-2), where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic, corresponding to a 95% confidence interval -0.030相似文献

The rates for same-sign and opposite-sign dimuon events with missing energy (indicative of final-state neutrinos) have been measured in 278 GeV π?-Fe and 350 GeV proton-Fe collisions. The main source of opposite-sign events is two semi-leptonic decays of hadronically produced charm states. The same-sign events are consistent with background from pion and kaon decays. We obtain a limit of 0.044 (90% CL) on the fraction of D0 semileptonic decays that result in the wrong-sign muon and conclude that less than 9% (90% CL) of same-sign dimuon events produced in neutrino interactions can be attributed to D0-0 mixing. The data imply δm < 6.5 × 10?4 eV and for the difference in mass and inverse lifetime of the CP eigenstates of the D0. Limits on diffractive bottom production cross sections in proton and pion collisions are also presented. 相似文献
