Transport coefficients of gluon plasma are calculated for an SU(3) pure gauge model by lattice QCD simulations on 16(3) x 8 and 24(3) x 8 lattices. Simulations are carried out at slightly above the deconfinement transition temperature T(c), where a new state of matter is currently being pursued in BNL RHIC experiments. Our results show that the ratio of the shear viscosity to the entropy is less than one and the bulk viscosity is consistent with zero in the region 1.4 < or = T/T(c) < or = 1.8.  相似文献

Large nonlinear phase shifts were generated with femtosecond pulses at 1560 nm through cascaded quadratic interactions in periodically poled MgO-doped LiNbO3. The off-diagonal component of the nonlinear coefficient was utilized for simultaneous quasi phase matching and group-velocity matching. The effective nonlinear refractive index was varied from -2.9 x 10(-14) to +3.3 x 10(-14) cm2/W by tuning the phase-mismatch conditions.  相似文献

We have observed lasing in a complicated eigenmode of a quasi-stadium laser diode with an unstable resonator consisting of two curved end mirrors obeying an unstable resonator condition and two straight sidewall mirrors. The laser was fabricated by application of a reactive-ion-etching technique to a molecular beam epitaxy-grown graded-index separate-confinement heterostructure single-quantum-well GaAs/AlGaAs structure. The far-field pattern shows that the lasing mode corresponds to the complicated lowest-loss mode obtained numerically by an extended Fox-Li method.  相似文献

A 1,10-phenanthroline-appended cholesterol-based gelator (1) and its nongelling reference compound (2) were synthesized. Among 19 solvents tested herein, gelator 1 could gelate 11 solvents including alcohols, dipolar aprotic solvents, organic acids and a base (triethylamine), indicating that 1 acts as a versatile gelator. The TEM observation gave a visual image showing that fibrillar aggregates are entangled in the three-dimensional network structure. In the fluorescence measurements, most gels afforded an emission maximum at 394 nm (purple emission), whereas only the acetic acid gel afforded an emission maximum at 522 nm (yellow emission). Thus, the influence of protonation of the 1,10-phenanthroline nitrogens (by trifluoroacetic acid) on the fluorescence properties in the gel phase was investigated in detail. The results have established that the fluorescence intensity of 1 x H+ becomes particularly strong in the gel phase, presumably because of the energy transfer from neutral 1* to protonated 1 x H+ and the restriction of the 1 x H+ molecular motion. The finding suggests the possibility that the gel system would be useful not only as a new proton-sensitive fluorescence system but also as a new medium for designing efficient energy transfer systems.  相似文献

We derive Sobolev inequalities for Besov spaces B p,p (F), 0<<1, 1p< on d-sets F in R n , dn, from a metric property of the Bessel capacity on R n . We first extend Kaimanovitch's result on the equivalence of Sobolev and capacitary inequalites for contractive p-norms in a general setting allowing unbounded Lévy kernels. A simple part of the Jonsson–Wallin trace theorem for Besov spaces and some basic properties of Bessel and Besov capacities on R n are then utilized in getting the desired inequalities. When p=2, the Besov space being considered is a non-local regular Dirichlet space and gives rise to a jump type symmetric Markov process M over the d-set. The upper bound of the transition function of M and metric properties of M -polar sets are then exhibited.  相似文献

Bose fluids restricted in one dimension (1D) are realized by adsorbing 4He atoms on the 1D pore walls with a diameter of about 18 A. The Bose fluid appears above an adsorbed amount after the pore walls are coated with the inert 4He atoms. Heat capacity of the fluid was observed to have a temperature-linear term at low temperatures. This corresponds to the phonon heat capacity of the Bose fluid in the 1D pores. We estimate the phonon velocity and the interaction of the 1D Bose fluid.  相似文献

We report a determination of the B(0)(d)-&B_(0)(d) mixing parameter Deltam(d) based on the time evolution of dilepton yields in Upsilon(4S) decays. The measurement is based on a 5.9 fb(-1) data sample collected by the Belle detector at KEKB. The proper-time difference distributions for same-sign and opposite-sign dilepton events are simultaneously fitted to an expression containing Deltam(d) as a free parameter. Using both muons and electrons, we obtain Deltam(d) = 0.463+/-0.008 (stat)+/-0.016 (syst) ps(-1). This is the first determination of Deltam(d) from time evolution measurements at the Upsilon(4S). We also place limits on possible CPT violations.  相似文献

We present a measurement of the standard model CP violation parameter sin2 phi(1) based on a 29.1 fb(-1) data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. One neutral B meson is fully reconstructed as a J/psi K(S), psi(2S)K(S), chi(c1)K(S), eta(c)K(S), J/psi K(L), or J/psi K(*0) decay and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. From the asymmetry in the distribution of the time intervals between the two B meson decay points, we determine sin2 phi(1) = 0.99+/-0.14(stat)+/-0.06(syst). We conclude that we have observed CP violation in the neutral B meson system.  相似文献

The feasibility of gas flow imaging in moderately high magnetic fields employing thermally polarized gases at atmospheric pressures is demonstrated experimentally. Two-dimensional spatial maps of flow velocity distributions for acetylene, propane, and butane flowing along the transport channels of shaped monolithic alumina catalysts were obtained at 7 T by (1)H NMR, with true in-plane resolution of 400 &mgr;m and reasonable detection times. The resolution is shown to be limited by the echo attenuation due to rapid molecular diffusion in the imaging gradients of magnetic field. All gas flow images exhibit flow patterns that are not fully developed, in agreement with the range of Reynolds numbers (190-570) and the length of the sample used in gas flow experiments. The flow maps reveal the highly nonuniform spatial distribution of shear rates within the monolith channels of square cross-section, the kind of information essential for evaluation and improvement of the efficiency of mass transfer in shaped catalysts. The water flow images were obtained at lower Re numbers for comparison. These images demonstrate the transformation of a transient flow pattern observed closer to the inflow edge of a monolith into a fully developed one further downstream. Based upon ab initio electronic structure calculations for delafossite CuAlO2 and ZnO, we report on the design of new-functional materials for transparent conducting oxides (TCO), such as (i) low-resistive p-type ZnO and CuAlO2 by co-doping, (ii) high-efficiency thermoelectric power in CuAlO2 (ZT>3) by p-type doping, (iii) half-metallic ferromagnetism in transition-metal-impurity doped CuAlO2 and ZnO-based diluted magnetic semiconductors, and (iv) CaO, MgO, SrO and BaO based DMS without transition metal impurities.
