When a finite quantum system, say a fluorescent molecule is attached to a bulk surface and excited by a short laser pulse, the decay dynamics of the system is modulated by the surface and the signal is enhanced due to the bulk surface. We have considered the decay dynamics of a model of displaced distorted molecule whose excited potential surface is coupled to a continuum and then this first continuum is in turn coupled to a second continuum. In the short time scale there is a coherent exchange of energy between the system molecule and the first continuum states. In the long time scale the energy of the whole system plus first continuum drains out to the final continuum states. A dendrimer nanocomposite with the gold surface shows an enhanced light emission. This can be qualitatively understood from the model we proposed here. We have numerically studied the various potential parameters of the molecule which can affect the signal. When the potential surfaces are flat, the band structure of the first continuum states along with its initial excitation has some nontrivial effect on the profile of the radiative decay.  相似文献

Extruded low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films commonly available in the market as 20-micron thick carrier bags were autoclaved, overlaid on nutrient agar plates and inoculated with BP/SU1 strain of Staphylococcus epidermis. The nutrient agar plate showed growth of the organism within two to three days. The polymer film supporting the growth of the organism showed pore formation as recorded by SEM analysis. The growth of BP/SU1 is supported by the presence of shredded LDPE as its only carbon source in inorganic salt minimal nutrient medium. The organism survives even after three months of inoculation and this is accompanied by gradual breakdown of the size of the shredded plastic as seen by light scattering. The cell-free supernatant of the organism, grown with the help of shredded plastic shows the presence of the over expressed proteins with approximate molecular weight of about 55 kDa and 35 kDa, through SDS-PAGE analysis.  相似文献

Horse radish peroxidase (HRP) has been electrochemically entrapped into perchlorate (ClO) doped polyaniline (PANI) film deposited onto indium‐tin‐oxide (ITO) coated glass plate. This HRP‐PANI‐ClO/ITO bioelectrode characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV‐Visible spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques has been utilized for estimation of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). This H2O2 sensor exhibits response time of 5 s, linearity from 3 to 136 mM, sensitivity as 0.5638 µA mM?1 cm?2 with linear regression of 0.985. The value of the Michaelis–Menten constant (Km) has been obtained as 1.984 mM. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

We study an integro-differential parabolic problem modeling a process with jumps arising in financial mathematics. We study second cohomology group of G, having coefficients in a divisible abelian group D with trivial G-action, in terms of the second cohomology groups of certain quotients of H and K. This work presents an investigation on the doubly excited 1S e autoionizing states of screened helium atom lying below the n = 4 threshold of the He+ ion. The potential generated in this system is represented by a Yukawa type potential. We have employed complex-coordinate rotation method, as it is a powerful scheme to study high lying resonances. Hylleraas type wave function is used to consider the correlation effect between all the charged particles. Our resonance parameters for the resonances lying below the He+ (n = 2) threshold agree well with those of the existing calculations by using the stabilization method. Resonances associated with higher thresholds are new calculations. All the present results are well converged with basis length N = 444.  相似文献

Butadiene monoxide (BMO) undergoes the S(0)-->S(1) transition, involving the excitation of both pi and n electrons to pi(*) orbital, at 193 nm. After relaxing to the ground electronic state via internal conversion, BMO molecules undergo intramolecular rearrangement and subsequently dissociate to form unexpected OH radicals, which were detected state selectively by laser-induced fluorescence technique, and the energy state distribution was measured. OH is produced vibrationally cold, OH(nu(")=0,J(")), with the rotational population characterized by a rotational temperature of 456+/-70 K. The major portion (approximately 60%) of the available energy is partitioned into internal degrees of the photofragments, namely, vibration and rotation. A considerable portion (25%-35%) also goes to the relative translation of the products. The Lambda doublet and spin-orbit ratios of OH were measured to be nearly unity, implying statistical distribution of these states and, hence, no preference for any of the Lambda doublet (Lambda+ and Lambda-) and spin-orbit (Pi(3/2) and Pi(1/2)) states. Formation time of the nascent OH radical was measured to be <100 ns. Different products, such as crotonaldehyde and methyl vinyl ketone, were detected by gas chromatography as stable products of photodissociation. A reaction mechanism for the formation of all these photoproducts, transient and stable, is proposed. The multiple pathways by which these products can be formed have been theoretically optimized, and energies have been calculated. Absorption cross section of BMO at 193 nm was measured, and quantum yield of OH generation channel was also determined.  相似文献
