A Light‐up Logic Platform for Selective Recognition of Parallel G‐Quadruplex Structures via Disaggregation‐Induced Emission

The design of turn‐on dyes with optical signals sensitive to the formation of supramolecular structures provides fascinating and underexplored opportunities for G‐quadruplex (G4) DNA detection and characterization. Here, we show a new switching mechanism that relies on the recognition‐driven disaggregation (on‐signal) of an ultrabright coumarin‐quinazoline conjugate. The synthesized probe selectively lights‐up parallel G4 DNA structures via the disassembly of its supramolecular state, demonstrating outputs that are easily integrable into a label‐free molecular logic system. Finally, our molecule preferentially stains the G4‐rich nucleoli of cancer cells.     

Purification of hyaluronidase as an anticancer agent inhibiting CD44

Hyaluronidase (Hyal) can be employed to accomplish a diversity of complications related to hyaluronic acid (HA). Hyal contains some classes of catalysts that cleave HA. This enzyme is detected in several human tissues as well as in animal venoms, pathogenic organisms and cancers. Destructive cancer cells regularly increase the CD44 receptor existing in a cell membrane. This receptor acts as an exact receptor for HA, and HA is recognized to motivate the migration, spread, attack and metastasis of cancer cells. Nearly all of the methods used to purify Hyal are highly costly and not proper for industrial applications. This survey aims to review different methods of Hyal purification, which acts as an anticancer agent by degrading HA in tissues and thus inhibiting the CD44–HA interaction. Hyal can be successfully employed in the management of cancer, which is associated with HA–CD44. This review has described different methods for Hyal purification to prepare an origin to develop a novel purification technique for this highly appreciated protein. Using multiple columns is not applicable for the purification of Hyal and thus cannot be used at the industrial level. It is better to use affinity chromatography of anti-Hyal for Hyal with one-step purification.     

Charged Dirac Particles’ Hawking Radiation via Tunneling of Both Horizons and Thermodynamics Properties of Kerr–Newman–Kasuya–Taub–NUT–AdS Black Holes

We investigate Hawking radiation of electrically and magnetically charged Dirac particles from a dyonic Kerr–Newman–Kasuya–Taub–NUT–Anti-de Sitter (KNKTN–AdS) black hole by considering thermal characters of both the outer and inner horizons. We apply Damour–Ruffini method and membrane method to calculate the temperature and the entropy of the inner horizon of the KNKTN–AdS black hole. The inner horizon admits thermal character with positive temperature and entropy proportional to its area. The inner horizon entropy contributes to the total entropy of the black hole in the context of Nernst theorem. Considering conservation of energy, charges, angular momentum, and the back-reaction of emitting particles to the spacetime, we obtain the emission spectra for both the inner and outer horizons. The total emission rate is obtained as the product of the emission rates of the inner and outer horizons. It deviates from the purely thermal spectrum with the leading term exactly the Boltzman factor and can bring some information out. The result thus can be treated as an explanation to the information loss paradox.     

Performance improvement of spectral amplitude coding-optical code division multiple access systems using NAND detection with enhanced double weight code

The bit-error rate (BER) performance of the spectral amplitude coding-optical code division multiple access (SACOCDMA) system has been investigated by using NAND subtraction detection technique with enhanced double weight (EDW) code. The EDW code is the enhanced version of double weight (DW) code family where the code weight is any odd number and greater than one with ideal cross-correlation. In order to evaluate the performance of the system, we used mathematical analysis extensively along with the simulation experiment. The evaluation results obtained using the NAND subtraction detection technique was compared with those obtained using the complementary detection technique for the same number of active users. The comparison results revealed that the BER performance of the system using NAND subtraction detection technique has greatly been improved as compared to the complementary technique.     

L-proline catalyzed asymmetric transfer aldol reaction between diacetone alcohol and aldehydes

We demonstrate for the first time, L-proline as a chiral catalyst for transfer aldol reaction between aldehydes and diacetone alcohol.     

Characteristic profiles of the inclusion complex of omeprazole/peracylated-β-cyclodextrin formed in supercritical carbon dioxide

Inclusion properties of the drug omeprazole (OMP) with peracetylated-beta-cyclodextrin (PAc-β-CD) prepared by green method, following supercritical carbon-dioxide (scCO₂), were characterized through thermal (TGA and DSC), crystalline (XRD), NMR spectroscopic and dissolution studies. Comparison amongst PAc-β-CD, OMP, physical binary mixture (equimolar ratio of OMP: PAc-β-CD) and the solid inclusion complex (OMP/PAc-β-CD) revealed scCO₂ as a successful technique for inclusion complex formation as well, identified characteristics performances of PAc-β-CD/OMP interactions. For instance, absence of characteristic DSC or XRD peaks of either chemical in the complex was quite noticeable with the shift of proton peaks in ¹H NMR spectra. The formed inclusion complex also showed an important dissolution performance of OMP for controlled release applications partly due to the hydrophobic nature of PAc-β-CD.     

Synthesis and properties of polyimides derived from a new diamine containing bulky-flexible pendent group

Novel aromatic polyimides containing bulky-flexible pendent group were successfully synthesized by direct polycondensation of N-(4-(4-(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazole-2-yl)phenoxy)phenyl)-3,5-diaminobenzamide with various tetracarboxylic dianhydrides. These polymers are soluble in most of the aprotic organic solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, N,N-dimethylacetamide, hexamethylphosphoramide, m-cresol, and pyridine. The prepared polymers were characterized by viscometry, FT-IR, ¹H NMR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorimetry, elemental analysis; the thermal properties were evaluated by differential scanning calorimetric and thermogravimetric analysis.     

Isoflavonoid glycosides from the rhizomes of Iris germanica

Four isoflavone glycosides were isolated from the rhizomes of Iris germanica. Compounds 1 and 2 are new, while compounds 3 and 4 are known isoflavone glycosides. These compounds were identified as iriskashmirianin 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (1), nigricin 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (2), irilone 4'-O-beta-D-glucoside (3) and iridin (4). Their structures were determined with the help of spectroscopic methods.
