The behaviour of ubiquitous radon (), thoron () and their progeny in the indoor atmosphere generally reflect a complex interplay between a number of processes, the most important of which are radioactive -decay, ventilation, attachment to aerosols and deposition on the surfaces. The present work involved a long-term (1997–2000) passive monitoring of and in the indoor environment of the North-Eastern region of India. This region being a zone of high seismicity, the indoor radon and thoron measurement of the region will provide a better insight and a valuable database for any study related to radon and thoron anomalies.  相似文献

Using near-field scanning optical microscopy (NSOM), we report the spatial distribution of photoluminescence (PL) intensity in III-nitride-based semiconductor layers grown on GaN substrates. Undoped GaN, In0.11Ga0.89N, and In0.13Ga0.87N/GaN multi-quantum wells (MQWs) were grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) on freestanding GaN substrates. Micro-Raman spectroscopy has been used to evaluate the crystalline properties of the GaN homoepitaxial layers. The variation of the PL intensity from the NSOM imaging indicates that the external PL efficiency fluctuates from 20% to 40% in the 200 nm InGaN single layer on freestanding GaN, whereas it fluctuates from 20% to 60% in InGaN/GaN MQWs. In the NSOM-PL images, bright island-like features are observed. After deconvolution with the spatial resolution of the NSOM, the size of these features is estimated to be in the range of 150–250 nm.  相似文献

We propose a sensitive pressure and temperature sensor depends on hollow core rectangular photonic crystal fiber. The proposed modeling is carried out by implementing 2-D finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The two parameters like pressure and temperature plays a vital role in reservoir engineering to increase the production rates of oil well and our sensor technique is depend on the transmission peak wavelength shift which is caused by temperature/pressure change, and geometrical parameter of the structure of rectangular PCF. Here we have done simulation for various work using 2-D FDTD method application to sensing. We have shown the proposed design which provides the sensitivity with linear dependence of the resonance wavelength over refractive index of PCF holes at a operating wavelength of 1.55 μm.  相似文献

Preliminary investigations revealed the presence of appreciable amount of gum rich in lignin and tannin in kendu fruit (Diospyros Cordifolia Roxb). The kendu fruit adhesive (KFA) was used to substitute phenol in resole formulations to achieve cost effectiveness. Substituted resole formulations with 50 and 100% KFA were prepared in alkaline medium through stepwise addition process. Unsubstituted and KFA substituted resole adhesives were then characterized by FT‐IR, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry and X‐ray diffraction analysis. The adhesive strength of the above mentioned formulations were evaluated by comparing the results of mechanical tests as per the ASTM specifications using UTM‐LR‐100K LLOYD Instruments, UK. Analytical characterizations revealed the substitutions of phenol by KFA in the substituted resole formulations. The results of adhesive strength test revealed that the 50% KFA substituted PF resin exhibits better adhesive strength than the virgin phenol‐formaldehyde and 100% KFA‐formaldehyde resole formulation. Let Λ = (λ k ) be a sequence of non-zero complex numbers. In this paper we introduce the strongly almost convergent generalized difference sequence spaces associated with multiplier sequences i.e. w 0[A m ,Λ,p], w 1[A m ,Λ,p], w [A m ,Λ,p] and study their different properties. We also introduce Δ Λ m -statistically convergent sequences and give some inclusion relations between w 1 m ,λ,p] convergence and Δ Λ m -statistical convergence. Magnetic and heat capacity measurements have been carried out on the polycrystalline sample of DyNi, which crystallizes in the orthorhombic FeB structure (space group Pnma). This compound is ferromagnetic with a Curie temperature of 59 K. Magnetization-field isotherms at low temperatures show a multi-step behavior characteristic of metamagnetic transitions. The magnetocaloric effect has been measured both in terms of isothermal magnetic entropy change and adiabatic temperature change for various applied magnetic fields. The maximum values of the entropy change and the temperature change are found to be 19 J kg−1 K−1 and 4.5 K, respectively, for a field of 60 kOe. The large magnetocaloric effect is attributed to the field-induced spin-flop metamagnetism occurring in this compound, which has a noncollinear magnetic structure at low fields.  相似文献
