In this study, we address the joint inventory and quality management in a Cournot duopoly, for a seasonally produced, perishable product whose quality deteriorates over time. The sales of the product occur over two periods, namely the season (first period) and the off-season (second period). Apart from the stocking quantities for the two periods, firms must decide the quality levels of the units to stock for the second selling period. Firms incur a cost to maintain particular quality levels. The equilibrium policies of the firms are characterized, and we discuss the impact of the firms’ quality costs on their inventory and quality decisions. We identify the conditions of the quality costs when competition ceases to exist in the second period, and analyse the impact of the quality costs on inter-temporal price fluctuations and product availability. Using the unconstrained equilibrium policy, we frame the firms’ inventory disposal policies when production yields are exogenous.  相似文献

We describe a systematic method for the preparation and spectroscopic characterization of a CO2 molecule coordinated to an activated bisphenoidal nickel(I) compound containing a tetraazamacrocyclic ligand in the gas phase. The resulting complex was then structurally characterized by using mass‐selected vibrational predissociation spectroscopy. The results indicate that a highly distorted CO2 molecule is bound to the metal center in an η2‐C,O coordination mode, thus establishing an efficient and rational method for the preparation of metal‐activated CO2 for further studies using ion chemistry techniques.  相似文献

[70]fullerene has been shown to form 1:1 EDA complex with anthracene, naphthalene, phenanthrene, pyrene and acenaphthene in CCl4 medium. Charge transfer (CT) bands have been detected in all the cases. Isosbestic points have been observed in the cases of phenanthrene and acenaphthene complexes. Ionisation potentials of the donors and CT transition energies have been found to correlate in accordance with Mulliken equation and from this correlation the electron affinity of C70 has been found to be 2.59 eV. Enthalpies and entropies of formation of the complexes have been estimated from the formation constants of the complexes determined spectrophotometrically at three different temperatures.  相似文献

Copper(I)-catalyzed propargylic substitution of linear precursors with (Me(2)PhSi)(2)Zn predominantly yields the γ isomer independent of the propargylic leaving group. The thus formed allenylic silane reacts regioselectively with another equivalent of (Me(2)PhSi)(2)Zn, yielding a bifunctional building block with allylic and vinylic silicon groups. The reaction rates of both steps are well-balanced for chloride (γ:α ≥ 99:1) where the propargylic displacement occurs quantitatively prior to the addition step. Substitutions of α-branched propargylic phosphates are also reported.  相似文献

In Nature, protein capsids function as molecular containers for a wide variety of molecular cargoes. Such containers have great potential for applications in nanotechnology, which often require encapsulation of non-native guest molecules. Charge complementarity represents a potentially powerful strategy for engineering novel encapsulation systems. In an effort to explore the generality of this approach, we engineered a nonviral, 60-subunit capsid, lumazine synthase from Aquifex aeolicus (AaLS), to act as a container for nucleic acid. Four mutations were introduced per subunit to increase the positive charge at the inner surface of the capsid. Characterization of the mutant (AaLS-pos) revealed that the positive charges lead to the uptake of cellular RNA during production and assembly of the capsid in vivo. Surprisingly, AaLS-pos capsids were found to be enriched with RNA molecules approximately 200-350 bases in length, suggesting that this simple charge complementarity approach to RNA encapsulation leads to both high affinity and a degree of selectivity. The ability to control loading of RNA by tuning the charge at the inner surface of a protein capsid could illuminate aspects of genome recognition by viruses and pave the way for the development of improved RNA delivery systems.  相似文献

We developed fluorogenic probes, which are photoactivated in the presence of specific nucleic acid templates with the release of fluorescent dyes. This templated reaction can be used to target specific nucleic acids in complex mixtures. We further demonstrate that this reaction can be monitored by single-molecule fluorescence imaging.  相似文献
