Measurement of time-averaged velocity, density, temperature, and turbulence velocity fluctuations in sparsely seeded gas flows using a non-intrusive, point-wise technique based on Rayleigh and Mie scattering is discussed. A Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) is used to spectrally resolve laser light scattered by molecules and particulates in gas flows. The spectral content of the scattered light provides information about velocity, density, and temperature of the gas. A CCD camera is used to record images of the fringes formed by scattered light passing through the interferometer. Models of the spectral components are used in a least squares fitting routine to estimate the parameters from fringe images. Flow measurements are presented for subsonic and supersonic jet flows. The application range for this technique is mostly for high velocity situations (>25 m/s). Velocity, density, temperature, and turbulence velocity fluctuations were determined with accuracies within 5 m/s, 4%, 2%, and 5 m/s, respectively. 相似文献

A rapid, sensitive and specific high‐performance thin‐layer chromatographic (HPTLC) method was developed and validated for determination of gliotoxin in Aspergillus infected immunocompromised patients with invasive aspergillosis (IA). Densitometric analysis of gliotoxin was carried out in the absorbance mode at 254 nm after single‐step extraction with chloroform. The method uses TLC aluminum plates pre‐coated with silica gel 60F‐254 as a stationary phase and toluene–isoamyl alcohol–methanol (10:0.5:0.5, v/v/v) as mobile phase, which gives compact spot of gliotoxin (Rf = 0.51). The calibration curve was linear (r2 ≥ 0.994) between peak area and concentration in the tested range of 100–1000 ng spot?1 with minimum detectable range 0.025 ng μ?1 of serum sample. The mean ± SD value of slope and intercept of the standard chromatogram of gliotoxin were found to be 523.2 ± 1.555635 and 915.8 ± 30.68843, respectively. The developed method is simple, rapid, precise and less costly than earlier diagnostic methods, and different serum samples can be run on a single TLC plate for comparative analysis. The C4 plants are chosen and in these plants, the rate of photosynthesis does not depend on the partial pressure of O2. In this paper we report a new method of fabrication of surface tensionconfined microfluidic devices on glass. We have also
successfully carried out some well-known chemical reactions in these fluidic channels to demonstrate the usefulness of these
wall-less microchannels. The confined flow path of liquid was achieved on the basis of extreme differences in hydrophobic
and hydrophilic characters of the surface. The flow paths were fabricated by making parallel lines using permanent marker
pen ink or other polymer on glass surfaces. Two mirror image patterned glass plates were then sandwiched one on top of the
other, separated by a thin gap-created using a spacer. The aqueous liquid moves between the surfaces by capillary forces,
confined to the hydrophilic areas without wetting the hydrophobic lines, achieving liquid confinement without physical side-walls.
We have shown that the microfluidic devices designed in such a way can be very useful due to their simplicity and low fabrication
cost. More importantly, we have also demonstrated that the minimum requirement of such a working device is a hydrophilic line
surrounded by hydrophobic environment, two walls of which are constituted of air and the rest is made of a hydrophobic surface. 相似文献

An ultrafast liquid chromatographic bioanalytical method was developed and validated for the determination of telaprevir in Wistar albino rat serum. Principles of quality by design (QbD) were implemented for enhancing the bioanalytical liquid–liquid extraction of telaprevir from rat serum. A Box–Behnken design was utilized in the studies by selecting extraction time, centrifugation speed, and vortex time as the critical method variables for evaluating their effect on the critical analytical attribute, i.e., %recovery of telaprevir. Chromatographic separation was achieved within a run time of 10?min using a C-18 column and mobile phase comprising of methanol:borate buffer of pH 9 (90:10 v/v) flowing at 1.2?mL/min. Photodiode array detection was performed at 270?nm. Results of validation studies were satisfactory. The method was linear over a concentration of 25–10,000?ng/mL. Limit of detection for the developed method was 10?ng/mL. Further, design of experiments (DoE) used for inter-day accuracy and precision study suggested superior method reliability. This integrated QbD- and DoE-based approach ensured the development of a validated and reliable analytical method for optimum bioanalysis of telaprevir in biological matrix. 相似文献

The physicochemistry of interaction of the cationic polymer poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) with the anionic surfactants sodium dodecyl sulfate, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, and sodium N-dodecanoylsarcosinate was studied in detail using tensiometry, turbidimetry, calorimetry, viscometry, dynamic light scattering (DLS), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Fair interaction initially formed induced small micelles of the surfactants and later on produced free normal micelles in solution. The interaction process yielded coacervates that initially grew by aggregation in the aqueous medium and disintegrated into smaller species at higher surfactant concentration. The phenomena observed were affected by the presence of isopropyl alcohol (IP) in the medium. The hydrodynamic sizes of the dispersed polymer and its surfactant-interacted species were determined by DLS measurements. The surface morphologies of the solvent-removed PDADMAC and its surfactant-interacted complexes from water and IP-water media were examined by the SEM technique. The morphologies witnessed different patterns depending on the composition and the solvent environment. The head groups of the dodecyl chain containing surfactants made differences in the interaction process. 相似文献

New bis (alkyl) selenosalen podand ligands having Se2N2 donor sites have been synthesized by the condensation of unsymmetrical o-formylphenyl alkyl selenide (1-3) with ethylenediamine. The reaction of bis(alkyl)selenosalen podands with Pd(II) and Pt(II) afforded selenoether-selenolate coordination complexes 7-10via cleavage of one of the two Se-C(alkyl) bonds of bis(alkyl)selenosalen podands upon complexation. DFT calculations revealed that the cleavage of Se-C(alkyl) bonds occurred possibly via S(N)2 mechanism instead of a sequence of oxidative addition and reductive elimination reactions. The spectral data and elemental analyses confirmed the formation of selenoether-selenolate complexes. The structures of the podands N,N'-bis[(2-methylseleno)phenylmethylene]-1,2-ethanediamine (4), N,N'-bis[(2-decylseleno)phenylmethylene]-1,2-ethanediamine (5) and the selenoether-selenolate complex 8 have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal structure of 5 showed SeH interaction with a ladder like 3D supramolecular arrangement via interdigitation of long alkyl chains. Comparison of crystal packing of podands 4 and 5 indicates that the alkyl chain length has significant impact on the crystal packing. The platinum selenolate complex 8 shows a square planar arrangement around the Pt centre, where the Se atoms in the selenolate and the selenoether have nearly equal Pt-Se bond length. 相似文献
