We have measured differential cross sections (DCSs) for the HD (v(')=1,j(')=2,6,10) products of the H+D(2) exchange reaction at five different collision energies in the range 1.48< or =E(coll)< or =1.94 eV. The contribution from the less energetic H atoms formed upon spin-orbit excitation of Br in the photolysis of the HBr precursor is taken into account for two collision energies, E(coll)=1.84 and 1.94 eV, allowing us to disentangle the two different channels. The measured DCSs agree well with new time-dependent quantum-mechanical calculations. As the product rotational excitation increases, the DCSs shift from backward to sideward scattering, as expected. We also find that the shapes of the DCSs show only a small overall dependence on the collision energy, with a notable exception occurring for HD (v(')=1,j(')=2), which appears bimodal at high collision energies. We suggest that this feature results from both direct recoil and indirect scattering from the conical intersection.  相似文献

We report the results of classical mechanics simulations of infrared multiphoton induced control of isomerization of FCN, ClCN, and BrCN in liquid Ar, using ab initio potential energy and dipole moment surfaces for the XCN molecules. The field induced isomerization and fragmentation dynamics of these molecules are found to be different from that of HCN in liquid Ar. In particular, the scheme that provides complete controlled conversion of HCN to CNH in liquid Ar fails to generate complete conversion of XCN to CNX in liquid Ar for X=F,Cl,Br. It is suggested that the sources of the differences in behavior arise from differences in the spectra of vibrational nonlinear resonances in HCN and XCN and to the occurrence of monodromy in the dynamics of the XCN molecules.  相似文献

The potential energy surfaces (PESs) and S(1)-T(1) spin-orbit coupling matrix element (SOCME) surfaces are investigated for the toluene-X weakly bound clusters (X=Ne, Ar, and Kr). Calculations of the vibrational wave functions using a one-dimensional stretch model are presented and used to determine vibrationally averaged values of the SOCMEs. Our ab initio theoretical results compare well with intersystem crossing rates derived from recent experimental fluorescence lifetime data [Doyle et al., J. Chem. Phys. 122, 194315 (2005)]. Vibrational averaging is shown to change the absolute magnitude of the calculated SOCMEs, but the ratio between them remains very similar to that of the single-point values calculated at the minima of the PESs.  相似文献

The rheology of a reversible supramolecular polymer is studied by comparing the effects of an increase in temperature and the addition of chain stoppers. The dependence of the zero-shear viscosity and the terminal relaxation time on temperature is exponential, and the activation energy for viscous flow can be calculated. Above a critical stopper fraction, power laws describe the stopper dependence of the viscosity and relaxation time. A simple model for the effect of the addition of chain stoppers on the average degree of polymerization adequately describes the results. A comparison of flow curves at several temperatures and stopper fractions reveals considerable differences between solutions with the same zero-shear viscosity. These are mainly associated with differences in the terminal relaxation time. A mechanism of shear-induced alignment and subsequent elongation of chains is proposed, with which the experimental results are consistent.  相似文献

Ten fishmeal samples (hidden duplicates of 4 meals plus 2 high-protein meals as a Youden pair), tryptophan, and nicotinic acid were analyzed by 18 laboratories using the Dumas method. Thirteen of the laboratories also analyzed the same 12 samples using their current Kjeldahl method. Recoveries (+/-SR) of tryptophan and nicotinic acid were 99.3+/-1.04 and 98.8+/-2.11% by Dumas and 97.1+/-3.03 and 74.6+/-26.76% by Kjeldahl. The Dumas method gave significantly greater values (P < 0.001) than the Kjeldahl method. For fishmeals, Kjeldahl N = 0.989 of Dumas N (P < 0.001). A similar proportionate difference (0.984 of Dumas N) was observed with tryptophan. Most laboratories failed to determine nicotinic acid correctly by Kjeldahl. For fishmeals, the relative standard deviations for repeatability and reproducibility were for Dumas 1.48 and 2.01% and Kjeldahl 1.62 and 2.37%, respectively. A single analysis conducted in 2 laboratories should not differ by more than 5.63% of the mean value when measured by Dumas or by more than 6.64% by Kjeldahl. It is concluded that with fishmeal, Dumas gives a more reliable measure of organic nitrogen than Kjeldahl, and, therefore, Dumas should be the method of choice.  相似文献

Mammals utilize a single phosphopantetheinyl transferase for the posttranslational modification of at least three different apoproteins: the carrier protein components of cytosolic and mitochondrial fatty acid synthases and the aminoadipate semialdehyde reductase involved in lysine degradation. We determined the crystal structure of the human phosphopantetheinyl transferase, a eukaryotic phosphopantetheinyl transferase characterized, complexed with CoA and Mg(2+), and in ternary complex with CoA and ACP. The involvement of key residues in ligand binding and catalysis was confirmed by mutagenesis and kinetic analysis. Human phosphopantetheinyl transferase exhibits an alpha/beta fold and 2-fold pseudosymmetry similar to the Sfp phosphopantetheinyl transferase from Bacillus subtilis. Although the bound ACP exhibits a typical four-helix structure, its binding is unusual in that it is facilitated predominantly by hydrophobic interactions. A detailed mechanism is proposed describing the substrate binding and catalytic process.  相似文献

The molecular structure of methyl methanethiosulfonate, CH3SO2SCH3, has been determined in the gas phase from electron-diffraction data supplemented by ab initio (HF, MP2) and density functional theory (DFT) calculations using 6-31G(d), 6-311++G(d,p), and 6-311G(3df,3pd) basis sets. Both experimental and theoretical data indicate that although both anti and gauche conformers are possible by rotating about the S-S bond, the preferred conformation is gauche. The barrier to internal rotation in the CSSC skeleton has been calculated using the RHF/6-31G(d), MP2/6-31G(d), and B3LYP/6-31G(d) methods as well as MP2 with a 6-31G(3df) basis set on sulfur and 6-31G(d) on C, H, and O. A 6-fold decomposition of the rotational barrier has been performed in terms of a Fourier-type expansion, enabling us to analyze the nature of the potential function, showing that the coefficients V1 and V2 are the dominant terms; V1 is associated with nonbonding interactions, and V2 is associated with hyperconjugative interactions. A natural bond orbital analysis showed that the lone pair --> sigma* hyperconjugative interactions favor the gauche conformation. Furthermore, the infrared spectra for the liquid and solid phases and the Raman spectrum for the liquid have been recorded, and the observed bands have been assigned to the vibrational normal modes. The experimental vibrational data, along with calculated theoretical force constants, were used to define a scaled quantum mechanical force field for the target system that enabled us to estimate the measured frequencies with a final root-mean-square deviation of 6 cm-1.  相似文献

An accurate potential energy surface has been determined for methanol from ab initio potential data at the CCSD(T) level of theory with an aug-cc-pVTZ basis. The resulting potential function is valid over all twelve vibrational degrees of freedom for all near-equilibrium and torsional configurations. A torsional reaction path has been derived for this potential, from which the low-lying vibrational levels of methanol have been calculated by the reaction path version of MULTIMODE. Comparisons with experiment and other calculations are made.  相似文献

Resonance Raman (RR) spectroscopy is used to probe the structure and excited-state dynamics of the solvated electron in the primary liquid alcohols methanol (MeOH), ethanol (EtOH), n-propanol (n-PrOH), and n-butanol (n-BuOH). The strong resonance enhancements (>or=10(4) relative to pure solvent) of the libration, CO stretch, COH bend, CH3 bend, CH2 bend, and OH stretch reveal significant Franck-Condon coupling of the intermolecular and intramolecular vibrational modes of the solvent to the electronic excitation of the solvated electron. All enhanced bands are fully accounted for by a model of the solvated electron that is comprised of several nearby solvent molecules that are only perturbed by the presence of the electron; no new molecular species are required to explain our data. The 340 cm(-1) downshift observed for the OH stretch frequency of e-(MeOH), relative to pure solvent, strongly suggests that the methanol molecules in the first solvent shell have the hydroxyl group directed linearly toward the excess electron density. The smaller downshifts observed for e-(EtOH), e-(n-PrOH), and e-(n-BuOH) are explained in terms of a OH group that is bent 28-40 degrees from linear. The Raman cross sections and absorption spectra are modeled, lending quantitative support for the inhomogeneous origin of the broad absorption spectra, the necessity of OH local motion in all enhanced Raman modes of the alcohols, and the dominant librational response of the solvent upon photoexcitation of the electron.  相似文献
